So,went to the dealers last week to buy an exhaust manifold gasket, thinking"yeah its a fairly well used part over a range of models, they should have it in stock",but noo...it was a case of "sorry mate haven't got it.I'll order one today, but being friday, can't order it till monday, but we're closed so it'll have to be tue.."anyway you get the idea. So it arrived today, and only expecting a small gasket to be 3-4 quid,I went up there, tenner in hand, and picked it up. Now at my dealers, tou pick up the part from the parts desk but have to go to an office to pay for it,only for the assistant to rip the invoice off the printer and ask me for....wait for it.....£11.55!!!!!  £11.55 FOR A SMALL PIECE OF PRESSED CARDBOARD. :pukeright: VAG you should be ashamed!!!!!

I'm in the process of doing that very thing. I'm trying to get a TSR 4:1 s/s to fit on my 91 G60.Will keep you posted as to how it turns out.

BUM!!!!!! :( :( :( Have looked at the existing manifold on the car and it seems to be in three parts-the manifold, which bolts to a spring flexi joint(at a90deg angle-i.e comes straight out from the engine and down)which is part of a pipe about 10 inches long, then that bolts to a pipe into the cat. The TSR pipe is one continuous pipe from the head to the system, with a slight angling to clear the bulkhead, and looks to be about 4inches too short to meet the system  The short of it is that without removing the existing mani,I wont know for sure if the TSR one will fit properly. Methinks I've been sold a pipe for a mk2 golf 8v gti :x Just in case ,does anyone know of any other manufacturer that does a manifold for a G60 that will by-pass the cat?

Just washed and polished the C the other night, and went out for a drive to show off(as you do)and this bloke in a black Celica GT4 r/c came barrelling up behind me and followed me halfway round town, dump valve pshtng, the works.Right,I thought, want a little fun do we?(shoudn't have risen to the bait but was in a bit of a mood  ) So went out to the industrial estate, which has a nice long and usually empty straight road running along it,and proceeded to go a bit faster.Toyota keeping up.Went a bit faster.Toyota still keeping up. Thinking I was gonna get wupped,I just floored the throttle and at about 80ish the Celica just started to drop away! Although I knew he was still trying to catch me cos I started to brake for a corner and he was coming up hard.drove slowly back into town(still with rear mirrors full of Toyota)and decided to go home.Couldn't be ar**ed with this guy any more even after I'd shown him just how capable a Corrado G60 is.After having looked up specs on a GT4 how the hell did I manage it? The obvious answer is that the guy doesn't know how to drive or theres something very wrong with his ride. I am right in thinking his car should have well over 200 brake straight out of the box? Answers on a posrtcard please :? :D

Reputable wheel refurbishers in Scotland / N England?
Blown replied to Blown's topic in Suppliers Forum
Sorry Andi  Thanks guys.I'll have a go at those. -
Does anyone know of anywhere in Scotland(or,at a push Northern England)that are reputable wheel refurbishers? Been trying to find one that doesn't cater just for the trade, but if need be I can get a mate in the trade to send them on my behalf.

I use Triplewax(cheap-£2.99 form woolies for a 500ml bottle!)or Simoniz Maxwax. Usually go over that with Turtlewax Top gloss-ace stuff. :D Got a smple packet of Megiaurs gold-didn't think much of it to be quite honest.

Joining it to a Jetex system and the C's been rolling roaded at 183bhp. 8vG60 Yeah,it's a 4-1 and gets rid of the cat and thanks for the offer but I've got someone who can do the job locally-lot of postage to send it all the way to Sussex!

The probe isnt fitted to the TSR pipe nor is there anywhere on the pipe to fit one. It would have to be an engineering job I guess.Still got the cat on the car,as the manifold is waiting to be fitted, if thats wot you mean. Going to buy a new probe to fit to the TSR pipe(if this works that is)

Bought a TSR 8v manifold at inters and a Vibratech front mount to match. The bloke at the stand advised that I would have to get a Lambda probe fitted, but the pipe looks to thin to be drilled and tapped to take the threading of a sensor. Is it: a)possible to fit the manifold without the probe and have the ecu remapped or b)weld a nut to the pipe to take the lambda sensor and cross my fingers that the weld holds out for the next five years or c)sell the thing and hold out for someone to do a full system  Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Ahhhh.... a perfectionist! :D :thumb right:

Trade in your beloved C what would you trade it for?(or buy new) I recently become aware of a Nissan Skyline GtiR for sale but don't know if I could part with the G60 for it :? Any ideas?

Normally,I wash it plenty during the summer, wax it at least once a month and use something like Turtle wax's topgloss every other weekend.Gives it some healty protection during the winter, when it usually gets hosed over with clean water and a sponge. Should see the looks I get standing in my Anorak with my hose in hand(fnar fnar!)in the pi%%ing rain hosing down my car........

Depends where the dent is. I hace three very noticable dents in the drivers door, done by the same means.(Other people just don't seem to care when they open their doors) I approached the dent repairers at inters and they recommended a bodyshop as two of the dents are in the crease, apparently the strongest part of the door. I have spoken to a couple of bodyshops and they are of the opinion that it would be cheaper to replace the door! The hunt for a second hand door goes on.......

Is it me or does the main photo make the headlamps look like they have clear lenses? :?

Bl@@dy hell!! It took me less time to read the new Harry Potter book!! :agrue:

What do you think about this? Although it isn't clear from the pic, that is a carbon fibre effect grille. (Still unsure about it myself!)

Are you sure its for a G60? The reason I ask is because I ordered one from Venom and it was for VR6. Phoned Venom and asked and they told me that it should fit cos they're all basically the same....hmmmm. Anyway got it fitted and found that the shaft is slightly too long and to start off with I couldn't get it to downshift from 2nd to 1st-usually ended up in reverse. The end of the shaft was going slightly past the reverse stop shoulder.Got that sorted, but was out tonight and the gear linkage popped off.I was stuck in fourth with no way of fixing to get me home-very smelly clutch now! Anyway it sounds as if you may need to adjust your gear linkage or replace the cable as it may have stretched over time, cos the problem your getting is one I dindn't have!

It's okay when turning at slow speeds and on full lock, never hear a thing. It just occurs when cornering hard, usually if its a left hand bend and occasionally on a right hander(no jokes please!!) :D

Thanx for the info.I'll have a look tonight.
