Right here's a wee story for you's all. Once upon a time there was a black mk2 golf Gti 8v.It was in fairly good order, maybe had a respray, definitely a set of alloys and a loud exhaust. Owner felt it was time to go and trade it in for a new car.A nice green K plate Corrado vr6.Said golf goes to a new home where the owner looks after it and gives this car the care and respect it deserves, for,oh,maybe, say,a year or so.Then new owner spots a new ride at a local dealers. What I here you cry can it be to tempt him away from such a prize? Why a nice shiny 91 Corrado G60 is all! Hmmm...I see a pattern forming here. The Golf is up for sale again, and maybe the next owner will trade up to a Corrado too,if they're lucky enough to find another one for sale up here!! :D

DON'T use castrol magnatec.I put this in at my last oil change in may and after some "vigorous" driving,it gets very thin and the oil light tends to come on-Especially after going round a bend where all the oil in the pan tends to follow the laws of gravity! :)

The Worlds best corrado has arrived! (AND ITS NOT MINE)
Blown replied to Majik's topic in General Car Chat
What, you mean he's a TOSer? Poor C,poor poor C. Someone shoot it and put it out of our misery. (better yet put the owner down for having no taste :pukeleft: ) -
Yeah I could go for a set if they were like that, but if not I'll still take a set. Just let me know when you need payment. 8)

Lax flower used the same kit on their "project" Corrado a few years back.It was repainted a bright orange as well, just in case anyone missed the "phat" bodykit :pukeright: They gave it away in a competition, but I believe it became the integral feature in a brick wall at some point........

Oh crap! Sorry to see that mate. In my opinion the insurance company probably will write it off,but on the bright side you could buy it back from them and get the panels from some of the guys off here! Or if your interested there's a white '91 G60 for sale up here for £2795 at a local dealer.(just a little far to travel though  )

Aaargh!!! Why is it that when I do anything with this bl@@dy car things NEVER go to plan  Just changed the starter and the bottom long bolt won't go back in because,I think, the threads in the block have somehow stripped when the bolt was removed. It starts to grip and then just slips out again.GRRRRR!!!! :2gunfire:

This is an interesting little problem. Just came back from 2 weeks holiday to pick up the Corrado at the airport and it starts first time no problem at all, after sitting idle for all that time.First hint of winter,i.e. cold night, comes along and the starter wouldn't engage.Just got a horrible whirring screech.Tried it a second time and it fired as if nothing was wrong and proceeded to do so until about a week ago when it did exactly the same thing and then again a few days ago when it wouldn't fire up until about the sixth or seventh turn. Then tonight got in the car and went to the petrol station and, guess what, the bloody thing did it again.A tad embarassing to say the least to ask for a hammer to get your car going!  I have got a new starter to fit but is it coincidence that after a fairly cold night or day,and starting from cold, that the starter starts playing silly beggars or is it just me? Anybody else come across this?

The Orkney Islands. To find it,jump off Scotland at John 'O Groats and swim north for a bit. :) Hey Spoier, just been to your neck of the woods. Do you know of a red VR6,at least thats what it sounded like when it went past me,that has a bodykit and BIG rims(either polished or chromed)in the Vancouver area?Saw it on the corner of Granville and Davie heading towards the Granville bridge.Sounded very sweet!!
-
Sheesh!! Makes what I had planned look like a walk in the park  (see members gallery under "winter hack") Its always the same. You think what you're gonna do is fine, then someone comes along and pulls the rug out from under you feet, and gives you a better idea........:2gunfire: Better go and find that trashed Passat W12 then......   Be easier to find hens teeth

See what £250 will get you these days! So the plan is to take the Corrado off the road over the winter and ride around in this little beauty.Cheap to buy cheap to insure and very cheap to tax. The C is bound for a makeover, with new suspension and a respray in the pipeline, along with either refurbed wheels or new wheels altogether,TSR manifold, vibratech front mount, gas flowed head and cam,big brake conversion and after that along lie down with a cold beer and a nice long chat with the bank manager!! The Polo has full service history right up to this year,1043cc,very good condition and the old "one careful lady owner from new"but in this case its true, cos I kind of knew the lady who owned it.Bought in Germany and brought here as a holiday car,so it's also left hand drive and everythings in km/h :D CHuffed as a pig in s**te!

Yeah...Rat-look- looks like a car that just about escapes the scrapyard Imagine a car thats been left in a field for five years, been hit by an angry farmer with a shotgun and then trampled by stampeding cattle and your almost there.... You can tell I live in a farming area...Ooooarrr!!!
-
Wot colour is that? It looks a sort of reddish orange to me.Is that a standard colour? By the way I lllllike it.Love those wheels. :D
-
I dunno about those wheels. They look a little dated to me,even makes the car look older than it is for some reason-kinda like 3spokes or TSW Venoms......
-
Presumably the same sort of thing.Tuned version of the vr6,but to what degree I don't know, having never seen the Nothelle VR. :?
-
Firstly apologies if this is the wrong area to post this in. Secondly, does anyone know where I can get this Etka info for the Corrado, either on cd-rom or a dowloadable version? All the sites I've found so far are in Russian or something! That is, I'm assuming that ETKA is the parts catalogue that VW dealers use?
-
Nothelle are a German tuning firm that did a tuned and bodykitted version of the Corrado G60.It was tuned up to 185bhp and most distinctively, had a twin round headlamp conversion kit and bespoke wheels. If I had a scanner I would post a pic,but I don't so I can't  Gawd,I really need to get out more....
-
And I thought my G60 sounded good.... splumph...oops,sorry!

Yup.Fuses were the first thing I went for.The spoiler worked briefly after fitting the new mech-it went up using the manual switch, but it refused to go down again. Went for a test run to ascertain if it worked automatically but no joy. After that it refused to work at all again. (blown sighs, shrugs his shoulders, kicks an imaginary stone and trudges off into the sunset..... :D )

any1 got any funny storys about racing other cars?
Blown replied to sefton's topic in General Car Chat
The one I can remember was, whilst out in the G60 one night(before any mods took place, and with a hole in me i/c)a ratty looking XR2i that had been running around town just looking for trouble, found me. He came racing up behind me and followed for a good while,so I headed out of town, with him still hard up on my bumper. Flooring it I started to pull away and the XR2 was painfully trying to keep up,and then all of a sudden just dropped back.I turned around and headed back and saw the fester at the side of the road with its two occupants sitting in it on the phone.Pulled up and was ready to crack wise, but he saw me and got in there first with"I was trying so hard to keep up that I've blown up the oil pump!"with a big grin on his face.I offered him a lift, but his dad was on the way to get them. "And this is me first car too.Just bought it this afternoon". I told him to go and demand a refund. :) -
Dunno. Is there a way of testing it?
-
Right, now I is thoroughly perplexed, and to some degree, vexed. Have replarced spoiler control unit with a 2nd hand one and also the entire rear motor assembly-bracket and all. The bl***y thing still wont work!! Is there a relay or another sensor that can be changed,or am I going to have to concede defeat and put it into a ££VAG dealer££ to get it sorted. If anyone has ANY ideas that can fix this I will be eternally grateful and buy you a virtual pint or three.
