  1. Saturday morning Dinkus and I went down to Toad's place in Winchester to help with getting a motor ready for re-instalation(we really didn't do much however). He's got quite a nice setup on his parent's farm. Thought you all might like to see some pics of the place. Technical Area and Spray Booth State of the art Engine Hoist Transportation Buggy Cheap Shop Help Quality Refreshments The Host and Master Mechanic Had a blast and was well entertained by his family as well, truely fantastic people. As mentioned above didn't really do much when I was there, but well worth the drive to support other Corrado owners.

    2Ltr 16v hoses

I think the general concensus is that you use the Golf 16V kits and 'most' of the pipes fit... I'm curious myself about this.

    porsche offset

... thought Porsche offset was in the 52ish range... usually need 20-25mm adaptors to fit em...
  4. Yes they did... not sure about Europe, but ALL Canadian Corrados with Recaros had heated seat option factory installed. Actually all Canadian Corrados had the cold weather package from the factory unless specifically ordered without.
  5. My assumption was the red-striped ones were the rarest. They were only offered on euro G60s for what 12 months? The Black ones were offered in Canada as well. The only other ones we got were the grey ones. Although they're not common, they do pop up. I think grey leather is exceedingly rare as well.
  6. I bit the bullet and hooked up the constant 12V method... will likely replace the dash loom... there's snipped wires down ther that I don't have a clue about.
  7. Ugh... it's not a cheap key from what I remember... doesn't change the fact your alarm is going to go nuts. do you have the code to the alarm? if so a stereo shop should be able to program a new one...
  8. Sorry to do that to you, Chimo... :ignore: :pale: :bad-words: Thank you so much for such a compliment :luvlove: Regards, gotta give props where they're due. :notworthy:
  9. That's not bad...:) see I don't want to do the constant, well, just cause I'm me. regarding the ignition switch, if it were failing... my fan wouldn't work on accessory though right?
  10. they might be connected... old photo, but at the same time I have no igintion 12V.. wire isn't doing anything. So looking for a fuse that's not in the fuse panel or on the back of the head unit? anyone? does such a fuse exist?
  11. OK... still not getting this... is there another fuse other than the radio fuse in the fuse panel and the one in the back of the head unit? Is there another one buried in the dash somewhere?
  12. I remember when Cobra released those seats and thinking... those are the nicest seats I've ever seen. now that I see them in a corrado I wonder if regular recaros will ever suffice again :(
  13. My Canadian one does at home. It is however, a VERY early VR with a build date in January 92.
  14. my battery absolutely died yesterday, turned the key after work to nothing at all. So got boosted and drove to halfords for a battery. £89 was their cheapest battery. I nearly had a heart attack. That kind of coin (converted) buys a top range gel cell by Optima at home. I forked the £89 and had to install it in the rain in the parking lot. If you have the dough (god only know how expensive they are here), I use an Optima Red Top at home in Canada, it's never let me down and I drive about 1800 watts of stereo with it. There's 0 gauge (about as thick as my thumb) power and ground coming from it.
  15. Ugh! The car's been working fine and then I went to go to work this afternoon and the starter was turning and turning, but the fuc*er wouldn't catch. Not that I enjoyt paying for cabs but I need this sorted fast. It's done this once before, after a heavy rain it died out while driving. When attempts to restart it would just chug and chug but never ingnite. After a few hours I tried to drive it and it fired right up. It's been behaving since. Looking at the engine bay most of the engine is dry, however it would seem to me that something is intermitant and likely linked with moisture. Around the fuel distributor seems to be a bit moist, but I dunno. I pushed the vacume line tight on the right hand side of the airbox as well. I resteated all my plug wires including the one that goes to the coil. Really preturbed at this... anyone that can help, please do... ?
  16. Is there any resource that lists good yards to find parts in? Looking for a bunch of littel annoying things for the 16V and would rather go to a U-Pull type salvage yard, but there doesn't seem to be any listing... I'm in Bracknell (unfortunately) so closer would be better.
  17. I would strongly suggest him buying the banker's draft at a local Irish Bank with branches over here (Bank of Ireland is the only one I know of). He can then cash the draft at the bank and pay you in the branch.
  18. At home there's a product called 'goo-gone' if its availebl here it will work a treat. otherwise, try lemon, the citric acid will break that stuff down, it just may take a while.
  19. Alright I've been at this for a day and a half an can't seem to bridge the gap. My ISO lead was wonderfully hacked out by one of the past 8ish owners. Generally not a problem. However this being a Corrado, things aren't allowed to be easy. In the ISO plug I'm concerned about the main wires, not the speaker wires. From reading online on many sources I've found various diagrams.None seem to fit my car. So what I've got is a blue and white, thick red/white (constant 12V), black, blue/grey, thick brown/red, and thin brown/red, as shown below The problem is that I don't seem to have a swithed on lead. when tested with the multimeter, nothing but the illumination gains. As well, I thought that this would have been the thick brown red, but I removed the steering column to see if it was connected and found the thin red/brown connected to the ignition and going towards the fusebox... getting annoyed Quite confused at this point. Looking for some insight on this one.
  20. ugh ... Why? Totally ignorant about this... ???

    INTERIOR DOOR CARD

you'll have to rewire the window switch and possibly the speaker. Also you will need the late spec trims (door pull handles etc), other than that they bolt up nice... however you might want both door cards :)
  22. Bit by bit I've piecing together the stuff needed to do a late spec dash swap. I was installing the side vents today and came to the top screw on the passanger side. It wouldn't budge, and I could barely bind to it at all. Is there some sort of tool used to extract these srews? We ran into trouble with Dinkus' dash as well.... little screw, impossible angle.... locked in tight. Can anyone shed some light on this one? Andrew
