I working sunroof?? ;) -
Indeed it is the principle of the matter. And the fact that you are supposedly mates
-
I've just re-read your post, and this sounds very familiar. I used talk to him a lot on MSN too. He's not been online at all recently....should have twigged then...
-
You're welcome mate :)
-
You have GOT to be joking? :bad-words:
-
It's no bother dude, I remember you saying about the centre section. The very early valvers have a hook type arrangement, but the later KR and 9A valvers have bar type hangers. The centre section hangers are two separate hooks and the bar type being a single central mounting that the upside-down-bicycle-handle-bar type bracket mounts to. With the rear silencer, one of the hooks is right where the bar type bracket would mount to. Bit of a bugger, but ho-hum. :)

I've just gone and bought one off the Bay of E....bugger....it was £28 delivered too....Have I just been robbed? :confused4:
-
I just almost spat my tea at the screen then
-
....just wanted to tell everyone what a lovely Wiltshire cure ham and extra mature cathedral city chedder roll with tomato mayo and salt and pepper, that I had for my lunch!
-
Ah, yes, just checked on ETKA as well. What a royal pain in the ar$e though. bloody thing was blowing like a goodun. I think I need to get another centre section/resonator....
-
Well, just been out to offer up the Magnex exhaust I have, which was off the Badcrumble, and its looking like it isn't going to fit. I thought I could swap over the hangers from Badcrumble onto Gooney, but they are quite different and have very different mounting positions! So I now have to figure out what my options are. The exhaust on there at the moment is a bit bodged together, and has 4 silencers. Is that one too many? I'm not sure what is supposed to be on there.... I also fitted the new brake pipe on the O/S rear, but can't get the bleed nipple undone at the mo, so I've wire brushed it and put a bit of brake fluid on there to try and penetrate through the thread/corrosion.
-
I bloody hope it doesn't fail, I've just sold the standard one off that side. :censored:
-
Cheers guys.....Right plusgas it is. I do have a proper brake pipe spanner. Think I need a six sided 11mm socket though. Only got those multi sided ones :(
-
just ran out of WD40....think I need to get the mussis to buy some in town. Is WD40 as good as plusgas?
-
....they don't have an opposite thread on them do they? The ones I've got are stick solid, and I'm worried I'm gonna round the bugger off. HELP!!
-
Neil, Awesome GTI aren't that far away from you, do you think they might be able to help?
-
That would probably be the best idea.....PM on it's way...
-
Right, got some piccies. I need you to let me know which dimensions you want....
-
Just found on YouTube. I know its not VAG, but I just thought it was cool!
-
Yeah, funny that, isn't it! Have you tried him on there fella? To be honest, I'm at the end of my tether. I've spoken to him over text a couple of times, once on Saturday and before, tried calling but never answered. I never had a problem with him before, and he was a mate, but you don't treat your mates like this, do you?? Or am I being naive? It's not that he doesn't reply to me, its just he doesn't do what he says he's going to. Every time.
-
I think you congratulations may be a little premature.....you know what I'm like.....
-
Yeah, funny that, isn't it!

I have the bracket off my car, in the garage. Tim has asked me to get the dimensions off it, so I shall do that tonight :salute:
-
I'm glad mate! Could have been a little messy.... Aye, I hope so. Not sure whether to laquer over the polished lip as they were before or whether I should leave them so that they can have liberal amounts of Autosol used on them??

Well, decided as I've given up smoking to give myself a little project in the garage to keep me busy, so started to refurb the schmorbets. Started off with a flap wheel on a drill, but soon had to move to 120 grit sandpaper as I was struggling to get at the inner edge of the rim. Plan to go through the grades 240, 400, 800, 1000 and finally 1500, but that is a long way off. Spent about an hour on the first one so far....lots more to do, but thought I'd see how good they could look... Before... During...you can see in this shot the corrosion that has taken place.. After... The first one is still a work in progress, but you get the idea Needless to say, my hands now hurt like hell and I have a blister on my thumb. Might have to see if I can get a alloy wheel refurb kit from the polishing shop.
