Will back boxs from other VW's ie MKII's fit without to many issues onto an early valver? need to try and source a new aftermarket backbox.

no mate wasnt me. You do get alot of to$$ers racing up either side of beverley road tho. I saw someone very nearly stack it into a tree whilst approaching the Northumberland road side when he was racing someone on the other side. He mounted the curb drove over the pavement and missed the tree by a few inchs. You could see the tyre marks. Very lucky!

Thanks that was what i was hoping!

Went over a speed bump on the way home from work 2night and my back box just fell off! Is it still ok to drive as i need to get to and from work all week with no time to get it sorted. Thanks

No didnt try swapping them because the yellow wire from the HU wasnt getting any feed from the car, it was going into a blank connection in the plug (if you get what i mean)
-
Thanks for the above.... the stereo now works. I connected both red and yellow to the same feed. Although now none of the station presets save!

Just a word of warning for all those that have an aftermarket steering wheel fitted. I thought i would check the screws holding the wheel to the boss yesterday because the wheel felt ever so slightly wobbly. only to find every single one of them had become loose! 1 had almost completely unscrewed. I had never even thought about checking them before that but i am very glad i checked them now! When was the last time you checked yours?

The headunit came with a loom. One end that plugs straight into back of headunit and the other end is two connectors. These two connectors fit straight into the the two connectors coming from the car, but when i connect them there is a flash of light from the display and thats it. Its like there isnt enough power going to it which makes me think i maybe need an iso connected inbetween them?!

I am just trying to fit a new sony headunit in the car. The wires coming from my car, are they meant to fit straight into the connectors from my stereo or does it have to have an iso lead in-between them. The connectors fit but i have no power to the headunit which makes me think i need an iso cable. Thanks in advance!

Is anyone running DAB in their car? I am trying to find the best sort of aeriel to use.... exterior window mount...windscreen mount or just a splitter using the original aeriel. Has anyone had any experiance with any of these Thanks
-
Iv done it! A rather unconventional way tho. The switch its kinda made of two half so it will split in the middle. I pretty much ripped the half off facing you which left half still attached by the screw. With half ripped off you have a full view of the screw with no gap to squeeze past to un-tighten. Job done!

As the sun has been out the last few days iv found myself working on the C to fix all the little things that had caused it to sit in my garage for the past year. Last one left.....The ignition switch! I had a go last year, spent 4 hours on it but gave up in a mood :mad2: Assuming i achieve the inpossibe and fit the new switch, what checks do i need to do before start the car again, obviously oil level... but will the oil need changing? Iv topped up the G12, what else do i need to do? thanks p.s. after driving my misses megane for the last year i cant wait to drive it again!!
