i managed to break two screwdrivers aswell! It just really pissed me off to spend 3 hours to undo 1 little screw, and in the end i wasnt even able to do it. is it easy to unbolt the steering lock housing from the steering column. sorry im not very mechanically minded. Im tempted to take it to a garage and admit defeat :help:

iv just spent the last 3 hours trying to remove the tiny f*****g screw to take out the ignition switch to fit a new one. :mad2: Iv given up now! i just cant get to it, iv tried bending the screwdriver a little bit but nothing i do seems to work. Does any one know where i take my car to pay someone to waste their time unless someone on here fancys wasting their time. Im based in coventry Please somebody help me!

Im going to be working in leam again so no doubt il see you Jim when im stuck on bloddy gibbit hill! Theres got to be more people who live in cov!

Iv just moved to Coventry and after only ever running into Jim in Leamington I was wondering how many of you might live in Cov? I havnt seen any corrados since I moved! :(
-
I have seen a few corrados on here with their rear number plate moved to the bumber and the bootlid smoothed. I currently have this done but the blanking plate has "corrado" indented in it, iv finally come to the conclusion that this looks tacky and to be honest sh$t! Im looking to get the smoothed look

has anybody ever fitted one of these? im very sceptical as to whether they will work! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CENTRAL-LOCKING-V ... dZViewItem sorry i cant shorten the link

I really need some help here, any other suggestions with what could be up with it, just to recap - it turns over but just dosnt kick in! I used to have a 96 plate polo, which had the same problem but a new coil pack fixed the problem, what does the corrado have to replace a coil pack, Sorry i have a crap engine knowledge!

Iv just fitted a new ignition switch and the car is still just tuning over. It wont fire up. Could it be the leads or plugs?
-
cheers for the help, off to the stealers then
-
great hopefully the switch then? Do you know if they are available at GSF? Any idea on price?
-
I havnt changed the switch yet. I thought as it was turning over the switch wouldnt be the problem Am i wrong?

Hi All I have yet another problem starting my 1.8 16v. When i turn the key the fuel pump kicks in and it turns over but just dosn't start up. Is it likley to be something simple like the plugs or something more sinister? Sorry to add another post but iv done a search and cant find anything. thanks!

no sorry, it was done when i took it into Lucus to get some electrical problems sorted. I remember it wasnt expensive tho!
-
It should be coming out in the summer (if we have one next year!!) Theres just lots of little bits that need sorting on it and i just cant be arsed to sort them at the mo, + with the petrol prices at present  im spending silly money's to get to work every day, its just not worth it.
-
just to let you know, my air was coming out cold so changed that valve and now it is good as new! definatly worth changing and not too expensive!
-
Im hoping for abit of advise. Iv just moved into a new house with the miss's and as we dont need two cars im parking mine up in the garage for the foreseeable future. :( Is there anything that i need to do before i park it up. ie disconnect battery etc.... thanks
-
Cheers Jim Good job i didnt go out and buy a coil pack! Once it starts its ok ist not misfiring, its just getting it to start. Its only ever when the car is cold which is why i didnt think it would be the ignition switch, Im going to be parking it up in the garage and sorning it soon :( , which is why i wanted to get this sorted before.

Hopefully a quick question for you all, My car (1.8 16v) is having problems starting in the cold/wet. when i turn the key, the fuel pump kicks in, but it takes a few attempts for the engine to turn over, (just silence when i turn the key) The battery is fully charged, Im thinking it could be the coil pack, but i just wanted to check other peoples opinions before i went out and spent £50 on a new pack. Thanks

Calling all those with SWG scuttle cover...........
awigman replied to keystarG60's topic in Exterior
Where do you get hold of these SWG scuttle covers? thanks -
i think it might be the original. i know it has come loose when i was on the m5 before but the RAC just fixed it instead of replacing it. Is it an easy job?

I noticed last night that my accelerator cable has become creaky. The car also idles at about 1100 rpm unless i pull the accelerator pedal towards me sligtly. Is it on the way out or might it just need tightening?
