1. Cheers for the advice Mark, just plug it with a gromit? And yeah I know, still looks cool though ;)
2. Fist bit of 'work' to this car ;) can't seem to leave it alone! I took these gauges and cleaned them up. They seem very good quality so I'll be keeping them :) just one question though guys, this is an original gauge holder from VW, and some time ago it's had a hole cut in it for this thing, the black wire coming from the top of two gauges. Have any of you guys got an idea what it is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3. I do hope so, just makes me want to sort it more and keep it going for many years :)
4. No idea mate. Apparently this is the only one in the UK but someone else must have one? I tried to do some research but Volkswagen couldn't confirm the number made apparently.
5. Thanks Rob, don't worry I will make you lot proud!
6. Thanks all. I will be getting this car close to original as possible. I already have a set of estoril to go on so just need to get parts. I can guarantee this car will be brought back to its glory days and no engine swapping/modding involved! Just pure OEM ;)
7. I too agree, thanks easy for finding this for me :) I can confirm that it is the same car as the names on the service history match.

10. Some of the receipts I have with the car do have Sunderland on them so it is possible! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

12. So last week I picked up my first G60 and second Corrado. An ad came up on the Corrado FB page for this car and as soon as I saw it I had to have it! I adore the Jet models, especially in Purple (my favourite colour) which this one is and even has the interior to match! I drove with a friend for a 5 hour round trip to pick her up. She had been owned by a fellow member for some time but as you can see she is in a bit of a sorry state as the member who I bought it off just didn't have time to restore her back to her former glory. I believe the last owner before the guy I bought it off had posted about it on here back in 2002, as that's all I could dig up on it so far but it did come with a huge folder of history. So begins one of the biggest feats I think I'll ever take out on a car! I plan to bring it back to its former glory and have it so it look show quality and all original. It's going to be a massive job but I'm more than willing to restore this awesome piece of Corrado history and to love and care for it. The original engine is gone and was replaced with a 20vt which is not present in the car so I have an empty engine bay! It's also a left hooker, so I will have to search for European parts to try to build this car back up. The owner kindly gave me lots of spares (thank you again mate if you are reading this ;)) and to my surprise it even has air con and no sun roof thank goodness! So that's about it for the moment. She's at home now waiting for me and my funds to try to restore her. I thought I'd show you guys as fellow Corrado enthusiasts and take you through the restoration and build up a nice thread for you all to enjoy. It will be slow for the moment but I plan to get into proper action next year. Cheers for reading and hope to update this soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
13. My passenger side had the same problem, I could hear a clunk noise when I pressed both switches so I thought it was the mechanism itself. I then proceded to hit the mechanism with a huge pry bar and and it worked!
14. You could be right about that Philly as my maf has never worked in my car! I will have a go later and update you of my findings. And you could also be right about the alarm system as my car has never had a functioning one. Thank you for the information!
15. Brown connector is a single row, and it hangs down to the right of the steering wheel by the fuses. I've wired in the new stereo using the speaker loom and also what seems to be another power loom separate to this one. I have yet to test it yet though. Hope that all makes sense, sorry if I sound silly it's my first attempted at anything electrical on a car!
16. After recently getting round to sorting out the sound system in the car, I have come across a couple of connectors that I can't seem to figure out what they do or where they go! Can anyone identify what these are for? Car is a '92 16v. Cheers guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
17. Thanks for the reply bud. I have the 6.5" alpine ones in the door cards. And unfortunately I have zero idea on anything to do with speakers, amps, crossover or full range ect... :( I just thought it would be a simple case of plug and play with these upgraded ones as the RMS doesn't supersede my head unit. I'll have a crack at it and let you know how I get on. Thanks again for the info bud :)
18. Hello all, had a go at fitting some upgraded speakers to replace the bodged mess that the car had when I bought it. I've gone for the Alpine set in the rear, which I wired in and they work fine. And then some more alpines in my audioscape pods but the front is what I'm having trouble with. Basically the old OEM tweeters in the dash have 2 connections, and being a speaker noob I did some research and saw that they connect to the door speakers as well as the head unit. My question is with the new alpine dash speakers I have there is only 1 connection point, so how do I wire these up? should I just splice the door speaker wires together with the head unit ones or do I have to take another approach? Hopefully that all makes sense. I'll add some pictures to the thread of the new and old speakers. Cheers Mick.
19. As above, need an owners manual for a '92 16v please :) will need to be posted as well. Cheers, Mick
20. I haven't had a go yet bud but I will update you. I tried that but it's still to long so hopefully this heritage one will fit!
21. Thanks for that mate, all sorted.
