1. As the title says, I got round to swapping my old cloth set to a leather set so now the cloth has to go. I'm aware that due to the colour and type it isn't really sort after, but I thought I'd let you guys have first go before it goes on eBay. As for condition, the drivers seat bolster on the right had side of the seat has collapsed, front door cards have peeling trim on the top and finally there is a small cigarette burn/hole in the rear bench. Other than that it is a very nice clean looking set. It is the whole interior so includes both front seat, rear bench and front and back door cards. No hump on the rear bench though. Also no switches or speaker covers. If anyone is interested in this I can provide pictures, as for price I'm not after anything silly for it so just shoot me an offer and I'll more than likely accept it as I need these gone! Pick up is in Witney, Oxfordshire. Cheers, Mick
2. Ok mate I'll pm him, but what is meant to be there when the car came out the factory? is there some sort of OEM bracket meant to be there I assume?
3. Hello all, I have an issue regarding fitting the rear hump into my rado. I bought a full 'early' type leather interior and I had a go at fitting it. I got everything in however I couldn't seem to find a way to secure the black bracket that is attached to the hump to the handbrake tunnel trim. I had the cloth interior before and it did not have a hump in it. Am I missing a bracket or something? I've taken pictures below of what I have. Cheers. 5. Thanks guys, I did say to him what you lot told me but he must really like them as he still wanted to pay me that as that was his offer was. I said he could have it for less but guess he just really likes them!
6. Thanks Jim, luckily a neighbour spotted me moving them to my unit and has offered me £150 as they are so all good I suppose! They are going on his mk3 after he's refurbed them.
7. Thanks Mark, I'll get some pics up soon. Cheers
8. Hi all, I have just got a set of borbet a alloys and want to sell the set coming off the car. They are the estoril alloys from my corrado the pic below is not the actual set I have, but is identical as mine need refurbing, they come with no tyre and need a refurb. They have curbing but hold air and balance fine. Any idea on what they are worth? I have no idea! They are 4x100 6x15 ET35. Cheers
9. Thanks guys, recovering from a motorbike accident at the minute so little jobs like these do well!
10. Just thought I would show my finished grille that's part of my ongoing restoration of my valver. It was in very bad shape, chrome had faded so badge was grey, 16v badge had faded and had lots of scratches and the grille itself had lots of gauges and deep scratches in it although it was worth fixing as all the clips were intact. So this is how I sorted the issues, the total cost was about £15 as I needed to buy the paint, filler and vinyl. Front emblem/badge: Removed from the car and rubbed down with 600 grit to get the majority of the scratches out. I then used 2-3 coats of primer, let that dry and then sanded it back and then used around 4-5 coats of gloss black. Once it was dry I then polished the badge to bring out the shine. 16v Badge: I removed this from the grille and gave it a good clean. Then, using a 2D drawing software I scanned and then cleaned up the edges of the red bits of the badge and then inputted the design into a vinyl printer. Which then cut out my design and all I had to do was stick it on the badge (very carefully). Grille: I cleaned the grille and then applied body filler in the locations of the deep scratches. I then left it for 24 hours and then began to sand back with a 800 grit wet and dry paper. Once I was happy the repaired parts were smooth I then used a car plastic plant and painted the grille with around 3 coats. I also painted the piece of circular plastic that the front emblem sits on. I then left to dry for 24 hours. Once all this was done it was the simply task of re-assembling the grill and the final results are down below. I am happy with the way it turned out as I have very little experience with this type of stuff so it was nice to see a good result. I apologise for the lack of photos showing the process, I just didn't think it would turn out as well as it did. 11. Thanks to Mark for a great deal and a good chat. Great guy. Cheers
12. Hi mate, would all this fit my 1992 2.0 16v? I have the early type cloth interior and was wondering if I could put this leather set in it. Cheers.
13. Shame it has to go, is a lovely looking car and well worth the money. Would have had it myself if I didn't already have my valver. GLWS
14. As the title says I'm after some original rear mats for my 16v. I have the front two but it didn't come with any in the rear. Also my interior is grey cloth, are black mats orginal? or should they be grey? Thanks
15. Just wondering if anyone has gone down this route to get shiny new (looking) VW emblems on the front grill and rear of the car. I painted mine in gloss black and would like to get them to original standard again. Has anyone done this themselves or know of a company that can do it? and a rough idea of cost? Cheers.
16. I'm doing a DIY install. Parts that I will be using can be sourced from ebay and all come from the USA, I'm using the original suspension and replacing the springs with strut bags. Universal strut bags are more expensive compared to cars that use captive springs. Corrado's have strut suspension all round so you will have to go down this route. I found some bags and I know a guy who lives in america who can ship them over for me on the cheap. I am then buying 2 dual needle air pressure gauges to show me the pressure in each corner, which also come on a plate with a bank of 4 manual paddle valves as oppose to solenoid valves. Then finally the air tank and dual compressor. I'm hoping to get all this shipped here for around £900 but this in a very basic system. All air fittings and pipes are source from my friend who is also helping me with the install. There's a company on ebay called CJ pony parts who do a system that self levels, has pre settings and is done electronically and can be used through your phone although it will cost around £2000+ for that so I'm going basic as its way out of my budget. Hopefully once all the parts are here I hope to have it installed in a few days.
17. I've always been a freshwater man. Owned a few tanks but my latest and biggest is a 280L malawi mbuna tank. People always say it looks like a marine tank. Mainly because of the rock I've used. Very basic set up for these guys though, just sand and rocks. A god option to get the look without the price Other than that I've had many south american cichlids and bred them. 18. Cheers bud, lots of great info there :) will update you how I get on!
19. Thanks all for the advice. There's an old thread on here that gives a guide, but I've been doing my own research along side and I see that UV lacquer is a must. Just a question if any of you guys know... Do i just use any sort of T-cut type polish to polish the lacquer? and is it between coats or after it has set to get rid of any orange peel? thanks.
