Yup same here, a jobs a job, you cant go charging people for your own failures (unless you can get away with it  ), tell him your not payin cos he's over charging and see what happens, I agree with Henny mention trading standards and then watch them squirm, its always worked in the past for me, I once threatened a hifi company with false advertising with trading standards for not coming up with the goods, they then did me deal on a B&W subwoofer that should have been £850 for £425 just to stop me from ringin em. 8)

After being the manager for one of the dodgy  quickfit type places for 10 or so years then I can quite happily say you would be best off paying some one to do it, we used to do it all the time, (used to keep me in mars bars anyway), normally between 10 - 20 quid depending on car and type of system customer wanted fitting, but if the exhaust has been off lately anyway then it makes your job so much easier if you want to do it yourself, it'll be an easy job, half an hour should see you ok aslong as its just the back pieces, but if your wanting to change the front pipe aswell then defo go and let somebody else do it, as you could spend an hour just trying to get the thing off, you know what they say the right tools for the right job, (the right tool being the experienced exhaust fitter)............hope this helps :D

By the way, ball park figure needed, what was my C worth, 1991 1.8 16v with 139k on the clock, dragon green in average condition, few little blisters on body that needed sorting interior was dark type and very good condition, no show winner but looked nice enough from a few feet away  17's and everything worked inc spoiler and roof  , i didnt pay a lot for her but there was a lot of haggling and I know the insurance company is going to try to stuff me, as they do to everyone so i just wanted a few figures thrown at me so I have at least some knowledge before my l-o-n-g drawn out phonecall im expecting to have with em tomorrow....thanks guys and gals

Just got the quote for the insurance company.................£1750+vat  :( , gotta speak to em tomorrow.............write off maybe  ..............so my total Corrado ownership was.........2 weeks
-
whats the difference between the late spec and the old one???? and dont say the new ones not bent double
-
No idea why it came open, doin about 60 and bang, the most shocking thing was the interior light hit me on the head, broken the bonnet hinges clean from the inner wings, smashed the windscreen and dinted the roof from one side to the other also scratched both wings slighty with the corners of the bonnet, hey look on the brightside as my son said " at least the spoiler still works"
-
Im thinking this might kickstart a new trend in bonnet modification, quick and easy mod, drive at 60mph and pull your bonnet release, i didnt pull mine but youll all get the same results.

After being a manager for a tyre and exhaust company for the last 10 years i cant believe anyone would recommend Pirellis, theyre hopeless compared to the bridgestones or goodyears for that matter, and SOOOOO noisy!!

31, wife and kids living in a fairly rural area in Sheffield, no no-claims bonus cos been on wifes insurance with our galaxy cos up until a couple of years ago i had 6 points on for doing silly speeds on M18, my C's a 1.8 16v which i have on a classic policy so im limited to mileage but how about £114 a year  norwich union direct, ideal if you have your C as a toy and not your everyday mode of motoring
-
Jeez, went Llandudno to visit relations yesterday 1.6.04 and saw half a dozen C's, between there and Caenarfon, rare to see any around here in Sheffield, nice yellow g60 on way back, youll know its you cos there was an compete wipeout on other side of dual carriage way causing umpteen mile tailbacks, and occupants would have been lucky to survive by the looks of it. on the plus side there were no dubs involved, justs a pug and and a megane RIP

Yep me too, about 12 holes on the wing side using a 12mm drill bit and a couple on the front nearest the wing, removed the snorkel from the airbox (the tube that goes to the front) and now I have a a lovely induction roar, not as nice as my old VR though :(

http://www.deutscheperformance.co.uk/pa ... ffer.mhtml Its listed for the 1.8 16v and 2.0 with big box, dont know what they class as a big box though, give them a call though because the chap i spoke to when asking about it seemed very knowlegable. -
Id have to go with the chrome and ditch the gold, and im not into the black centres remind me too much of the old capri days.
-
Gotta agree with Jim on this one the Rieger with eyebrow does it for me in all kinds of ways
-
Nah, not for me, I think the C's all about clean lines, I agree there quite subtle but why spoil perfection. 8)

Idle's a bit better but theres still what seems to be a slight misfire every now and then, but the mfa still reads 99.9 so I'll have to check the connection behind the cluster, ive only had the car a week so still trying to sort out all the little probs that the previous owner (or abuser, dont know which would be a better description) has left for me. :x
-
Dont know yet not took it out for a run, cos the daily runaround, our Ford Galaxy  is parked infront of the garage door, and wife has keys for it, shes out shoppin
-
Cheers Henny, Jobs sorted, t piece went to a pipe on side of airbox and the rubber pipe went to the underneath of the black plastic pipe just before the throttle body, thanks mate.
-
Thanks Henny, I'll have a look and see whats what, dont really know what it effects as its not running bad at all, apart from a little lumpy on tick over
-
If any one with a valver out there could take a quick look or point me in the right direction, ive noticed that the vac pipe that comes from the air box has a green T piece in it about 9 inches from the airbox which one end is connected to nothing, then about 3 or 4 inches up again it splits into 2 with a small rubber vac pipe coming off the end was split from this pipe and has come off whatever it was attached to, ive looked but to no avail, im presuming it doesnt loop back to the T because there would be no point to it, so am presuming it goes elsewhere, probably something to do with the fact that my MFA is reading 99.9mpg, much appreciated if anyone has a quick fix for me.

What about the performance Flusted, which do you think had the edge??? The surface area of the cone is swaying me towards it but like you say if the roar from the drilled box is more aggressive then i might have to go that way............decisions decisions, I drilled the box on my old Mk2 golf but back in them days there werent any induction cones available for the Kjet
