  1. Anybody know what the drop is on the Eibachs? Trying to sell them but as i never fitted them I don't know the drop on a VR6. Thanks Charles
  2. Classic Line cover me for £289 for 3000 miles a year. Classic policy with track day cover if you need it free of charge.
  3. Yes it is the ring but the times are unbelieveable whatever car you do it in. Have a tape of Derek Bell in a 965 Porsche doing 6min 45s and that was quick. The games do give you the correct line. I was practicing for my week at Spa next month on the GTR game with a GT3 Cup car. Excellent way to learn. I have a drive in a full race 3.8RSR lined up so need to practice alot! Charles
  4. Brother has the same thing happen to his Scooby. 2 wheel bent and 2 tyres knackered. I felt guilty as I had just phoned him and he had answered his mobile( before the law came in). Photos where submitted and it dragged on. Spoke to a friend who is a lawyer and he gave him the answer. When his claim was refused he wrote back " On which case to you base your judgement (sic). " This had a cheque for £750 in his pocket within the week!! Result. Charles I'll get the full version of wording from him if you want?
  5. "EG just did 5.59 on GT4. The Griff recommended a Caterham 7 & EG obviously followed his advice and bought a 965bhp Minolta Toyota 88C/D (race car 89). The car to have, I'm told, is a Sauber Mercedes C9 . In the interim, EG has just bought a Audi R8 & you can expect close on a 15s improvement. EVO track record stands at 5.26 set in a 92 Nissan R92CP Le Mans spec. We are confident that the record will fall within the next 48 hours. Mike B & Gregg B Jnr, David Wood, the Griff & all other closet racers, stand no chance of going faster. I hear that Scott in his Spitfire is hoping to break the 1/2 hour mark, although may go faster in his 1911 Mercedes 1hp." I guess this will mean something to some one? From the other forum ;O)
  6. My wife has owned our 3 Corrados. 1.8 16V 1990. Green (bought 1992) VR6 1993 storm grey VR6 1994 Purple 13 years of ownership! A real enthusiast. I swapped her a new Lupo for the latest one. Now it's mine along with all the bills. She has a Phd and is one smart lady. ;O)
  7. Stripped out lightweight is also planned. Engine in the middle explains why it beats a 997. 964 RS is 8,15 at the ring so this will be quicker still. Investment, to be sure but 50K is still a lot of dosh. Imagine Corrados going up in value. Dream on. I'm still hoping.
  8. Red 964 RS - The Fire Engine! Lupo(Fantasia Green) Frog and Pig. don't ask ! Out of my neice's library book I think. Corrado - Just called the Corrado. No personality( duck) Want a yellow Club Sport so I can call it Amber. ( think about it ;O))
  9. Answer. Break the clip. Swear alot. Remove the lock break it too. Try and get a new lock and find none at MKs. Search UK stock. Get last one from Swansea. Fitting was a fiddle but made it all go back together. Door central locking still not working so it must be electrical or the pump? £50 poorer so will have to stay like that for a while. Opens fine from passenger side but only once from drivers side after using the passenger side to open. Electrical signal is negligible at the connector so may be the cause? Charles
  10. I have the door stripped down and have the new solenoid in position with air and connector fitted. Question is I can't get the metal wire to clip back in to the plastic connector to operate the lock. I have removed the door handle to get more light in. Anybody got any tips? Turning the wire in the enclosed space whilst prising the plastic clip open is not easy. Should have left this to the garage to do! Charles
  11. It feels like the skid pan car where the rear wheels keep going straight on and the front turns in. Car does not slide sideways it seems to be the rear axle twists( unlikely). Only happens on RH turns at lowish speeds. Can take motorway 180 deg corners at 60-70 mph ok Thank goodness ;O) Front suspension is original so may be needing work. After firm braking and quick turn in it happens. Miniroundabouts will be worst. I'll get some lower springs, top mounts and new front shocks. Hopefully that will fix it!
  12. Winter tyres fitted with 5mm tread. Same with Toyo Proxes on the car. Has been on the rolling road for front alignment due to new bushes. Not sure about what they did at the back after fitting new bushes and shocks. I'll take it back to Star for road test/rolling road next week.
  13. I know this has been raised before but there was no solution! I have just spent a grand getting the corrado 94 VR6 with 120K miles through its MOT. New front and rear bushes, Powerflex rear ones. New calipers all round. New rear shocks(Boge OE). Car totally original unmessed with. 15" standard wheels. Tyre pressures ok, good tread. What to try next? rear ARB faulty? Worn loose LH hub? Turn sharply into roundabout and the rear keeps going straight. Happened for last 3 years on and off. Road was dry so very disconcerting. Only on right hand bends so suggests wear of something. Requires(quck) half turn of opposite lock at 35mph to straighten up.Tracking all done at Star Performance. Passed MOT too. I would expect this at high speeds but not at 30-35mph!! Loosing patience and would be cheaper running a Lupo GTI than the rado.
  14. Check the battery terminals. Power feeds the ECU. Mine is fixed with a clean up of the terminals and it was really sick!! Jim'll fix it!
