-
its the little things that matter....... :D
-
excellent cheers. if my rear caliper ever goes Ill do this mod :)
-
hi folks just to clarify: to upgrade the rear calipers I need: mk4 calipers off a solid disced car (all models ok?) adapter hoses mk3 gti pads so the discs are identical as the C ones? I think Id get the calipers from a breaker and the pads/hoses from C&R thanks all

Anyone interested in HIDs for the corrado? this place sells them for £295 but Im sure I can get a good deal for a few sets. Angel eyes are also on offer (normal price £85). I have a set and they are very good quality (if not a little fragile) but are let down by the yellow nasty OE lights so would be a good upgrade with HIDs. The kit is for a pair of bulbs (H3 or H4). Ill leave this for a week and see how many are interested. Ive dealt with the guy and he accepts paypal and ships special delivery so a quick turnaround is on the cards if they are in stock at the time. A mate has ordered some for his 330Ci so Ill post pics and thoughts once they arrive. http://www.eclipse-lights.com/ -pablo

http://www.eclipse-lights.com I got my angel eyes off him and a mate got angel eyes and is getting HID for his 330Ci. Sound bloke. Im keeping him in business tho as I keep breaking my angel eye rings and getting new ones  Ive already stuck some business his way so could possibly organise a group buy if the demand is there.

like they way you lost the side vents  dont suit the Cs lines at all IMO. looks like a good piece of work done tho

heres a pic of my red painted one

you can buy HIDs for £300 so that might be a better plan to be honest. Im looking into making some projector headlight for my C so will let yous know if I get anywhere.
-
ummm I notice its in german so will they make RHD versions as well?? also if you just change the lenses then you lose the beam director ridges on the glass so feck knows where the light would do. can you use the shell for some piaa syle projectors? would be ace :)

PMSL - the man has a point!!!!
-
my money is still on the amp but hooking up a speaker at low volumes shouldnt hurt it. just be careful tho. any hint of nastiness get it off quick.
-
yalan - just because something has a chav image doesnt mean its crap. hence my nova SR example. Id have loved a nova when I was 18 but the image was pure chav as i said above the 6x9 speaker is a quick fix and thus has its place in the car audio world but its down near the bottom of the pile (maybe entry level sounds better??)
-
here is a thought - could the speaker itself have blown and the amp be ok? guess the only to test would be to disconnect the sub and measure the impedence across it with a multimeter to see if its gone open circuit. just a thought before you run off and buy an amp.
-
lol nps at all my man :)
-
nah Jim its a good debate - split it :)  :x  :!:   :?:

I take it you mean coaxials rather than components? coaxials having the tweeter in the centre of the mid and components having a tweeter that can be placed anywhere.
-
sorry
-
you said chav not kak. make your mind up. chav = kak in my book, obviously not in yours tho?? car hifi is always gonna be a compromise. im pretty sure that 6x9's ina rear shelf will create a similar sound to, erm a mid and tweet installed in a rear shelf or those 6x4 speakers in the rear shelf supports... why does car hifi have to be a comprise at all? decent HU, 4ch amp, decent front components, single sub is all thats needed to win competitions. I knew a guy used £18 from mids and came second in SQ. Car HIFI does not at all have to be a comprimise. sweeping generalisation. depends what brand you buy. a mere handful come with proper crossovers and any sort of quality and are any good. DLS 7x10s are pretty good, genesis 6x9 subs are decent (if done right) etc but 95% are sh!te designed to impress chavs. > RMS figures are the ones to watch but all manufacturers quote peak figures for both their 6x9's or mids n tweets. lol RMS are indeed the ones to watch but most chavs are actually insulted when you say their 5kw speakers are actually getting 15wrms off their sony HU  your opinion and nothing to do with chav when they're stealthed away surely? chavs dont so stealth. they are in bright colours slap bang on the parcel shelf not round here otherwise id have more of em, maybe i should pick some up to put in my dash... maybe you should since they are obviously the bees knees in the comprimised world of car hifi dont you put your subs in a box? lol naturally - what do think the sub face does? it violently moves air in the boot cabin. where is the weakest point in the boot cabin most easily moved? hmm maybe the cones of the 6x9s? so if the sub is moving the cones of the 6x9s and the magnets of the 6x9s are also moving them - I smell conflict :) that doesn't make them a bad thing? maybe chavs have realised they're a great compromise between quality and cost. they produce a decent enough sound for not much money. agreed 100% - throw a set in to lift things sure but they are still crap compared to good compments and they are still chavalicious! never said differently. I personally dont like rear speakers of any desciption so the idea of SPENDING more money on them is ludicrous to me. far better spent up front imo. components are no more hassle to install than 6x9s are - less in fact especially in the corrado where you have a place to mount the tweeters and new cable is well handy to pop through the doors. Ive heard quite enough to last me a lifetime. well this was a fun debate - Ill stick with my tried and tested method of worrying about the sound at MY ears though rather than the chavs at tescos ;) -pablo
-
they dont look like corrado lights tho :(
-
*yawn* ok if I must: 6x9s are kak because: they corrupt the sound stage (the 5 tweeters in each brings the stage back destroying all depth) they are not to the same quality as component speakers they claim 5000w power handling yet provide *pounding* bass off the HU most of them look like tat on a stick market stalls are full of them and 10000w jetsound amps for £30 they are bullied by subs (sharing the same air space and all) chavs love them chavs run them WELL into distortion and think its earth moving bass hence the chav image.
-
typical of USA speakers - lack the refinement of the euro stuff imo. its horses for courses in most cases. sometimes loud and bassy is whats required.
-
a nova 1.3SR is a great car but its chav central also - why? I rest my case :D
-
nope dick Im defo out. sorry bud.
-
Dick - pop me on the reserve list will you mate? cant be 100% just yet till after the weekend.
