gonna be over from NI this weekend and wouldnt mind picking up some rims for my new car. Any big (cheap) superstore type places over there I can get an awesome deal? will be going from southampton to north wales so anywhere in that kind of area :) cheers.

Well my VR6 is now in the hands of its new owner after the handover last night. will be sorely missed as I put a lot of time and effort into it but its time to move on and back to something FI. So thanks to everyone who helped me out along the way some real top blokes. Good luck ya'all!!! -pablo ps - keep those sounds pumpin Kev ;)

exactly Kev they are two different types of car. Id not chance it against an EK type-r I can tell you that even in a vr6. my mates EK 1.6 vtec vti can give me a decent run for my money up thru the gears till 100ish.

joe i got 2 wipers the same and its just fine.

heated seats - the weight of a person over 10yrs can stretech the wires so the circuit gets broken. if you switch the heat on you should hear a relay click in the rear pass 1/4 panel area. I fixed mine and its lovely now :) - plate/V5 - I wouldnt worry too much he prob just put the old plates on as they usually give the same number back. Defo wait on the V5 tho to confirm.

they seemed in good enough shape like. and the noise is happening at 5mph so they cant be stressed too much

the shocks are 6month old bilsteins mate - must be a problem as it couldnt be wear.

are the bushes a bastid to change? Im imagining they will be. good tip on the pipe/exhaust - will try it out. The exhaust was in to get the cat fitted back on so may have been hung differently.

can move the exhaust in all directions with my hand and it doesnt touch anything :( this is really bugging me now

took the whole shock out the other day. top plate was fine, mounts were all fine. what else would cause a knocking back there? only really on low speeds and only takes the slightest bump to make it knock. really stumped.

does the C share rear shocks with any other car? Mine is making a noise from the back and I can get a lend of a mk2golf shock to test as I dont want to buy a new one and that not be it. cheers

I meant in general are we talking the old classic type-r or the new fluffy one? the new ones arent meant to be a patch on the old EK type-rs.

hard to describe but did something similar. I bent a bit of the metal bracket back and drilled a hole in it. been fine now for 6 months.

jesus mate a good vtec is hard to sicken :(

mate its just one possibility. i had to get the head off, new valves (10 of em) and head skimmed etc. luckily the pistons were ok. was caused by the timing belt heading south and cost me abot £600 mates rates. but as i say its only one possibility. may be a few things :(

bent valve(s)? my fiat did this on ALL cylinders :( total loss of compression
