  1. As I said already mate, if the offsets of the Porsche Turb alloys are as stated then they will not fit with adapters. Those other wheels look like the optional extra MK5 GTI Monza's which were 5x112PCD, 8X18" and et 50 offset. They would need adapters to make them 5x100PCD and a fair bit of archwork to fit if they are indeed 18's. If they are just replica's and 17" in size and 5x100PCD you will have not prob's if the are around ET35 offset. However, I am not sure they would suit a Corrado, but if you like them then fair enough.

On another note, there are two sets of those Porsche turbo alloys for sale over on edition38 just now in the correct offsets together with adapters. Hope this helps.

  2. Nice wheels, but I am sorry, there is NO WAY i would be running those wheels on my rado after just redrilling holes like that. The new bolt holes you have created will be much weaker than the originl as they are not complete holes. It would have far better and safer to, as mentioned previously, weld up the existing holes, then redrill new ones.

  3. It is still a VR6 and the only one in the UK AFAIK that is oak green metallic, I know Paul the guy that owns it, he is on eastsidevw.co.uk jimmyvwjunkie. He doesn't have it out much, but then he also has a TVR and an RS6 to while away the hours

  4. Ok cheers mate, I was thinking about the 330D because they aree meant to be great build quality, fast, good on fuel and all the toys. Think a 5 series would be too big for me tbh though. Leon Cupra 225, S3 225, A3 3.2 (MK4 R32 in sheeps clothing) and MK4 R32 have all criossed my mind, but just don't know if they would feel special enough. Having myself moved into new work in last year which should be stable position with moving up etc. I should be able to finally move on and get something newer and dare I say it more reliable....

I have said to myself I will have an e46 M3 at some point this new year, they are amazing value, I have driven one already and it was a great all round performer. You can have an 02-03' with 40-50k for around £13-15k, no brainer really. I was also thinking about the BMW Z3 M Coupe, later ones have the early e46 M3 S54 engine and are rare, handle brilliantly apparently, love the quirky style and the interiors.

Anyways, does anyone else have any opinions or advice on the 330D's ?

    Cheers

  5. Right, have been thinking about one of these for my next car or as my day to day car and keep rado for summer / nice days. Am looking for any advice, pro's con's, opinions - good or otherwise etc. They seem like a lot of car for the money and have seen 2001-2003 examples around 50-70k miles for £6k-£7.5k - don't forget that this was a £35k car new......

I would rather get one that avoids the tax increase bracket, but however the earlier models only got 185BHP as opposed to 204BHP in the later ones. Also, was seriously thining about the auto version just for smoothness, but I hear they can be prone to failure (£1500 for replacement inc fitting)? Also heard mutterings about overheating and turbo's going. The manuals are quite hard to come by and command more money too.

This said they come pretty well-specced, with most getting lots of options e.g. xenon HID's, decent hi-fi with Harmon-Kardon optional, poss, sat-nav and tv, most have elec leather and heated seats etc and can be remapped to 240-260BHP easily with 450+ft-lbs torque for £300. Still looking at 35MPG too which can't be bad.

Any thoughts peeps or does anyone actually own one / know someone that has one ?

  6. Should have done this a while back but had a lot to deal with recently and been away with work etc.

Thanks to Andrew a.k.a VEEDUBBED, who sent me a G60 clocks front bezel at NO COST to myself, including postage. Part fitted great and well-packaged. Thanks again Andrew, you are a gentleman.

Andy, thanks for the DDi mirror glasses. Very well-packaged up and quick delivery. Managed to get the sticky backing off in the end, what a pain ! ;-)

shawshankkid, thanks a lot for sending me the G60 airbox lips free of charge, you too are a gentleman.

  7. The 305mm (308mm) 4-stud Brembo kit is £745+carriage from Badger5.co.uk. The 323mm kit is £945+carriage.

So those kits from Godspeed are expensive, especially as I believe the prices are not inc. VAT and carriage. However, with those kits the discs are grooved and the ones with badger5 kits are standard. However, I don't believe this justifies the extra cost.

  8. Well, over a year to the day since I last posted on my own thread........Have not made much progress with actual car, due to training for new job, being away with new job a lot and the diagnosis of a terminal illness within my family. Also came back from work last trip away having been away 2.5 weeks, woke up next day and found car clamped.......£250 later car released, car MOT'd, tax bought and sound lesson learned.

Have collected most of the parts now to finish her off and just got my new wheels today. Well pisse* off at the guy that sold me them though, as at no point was there any mention of the fact that two of the tyres are damaged and need replaced :-( Still waiting for him to get in touch regarding these wheels and another part I bought off 10 weeks ago, yes 10 weeks ! Oh and he is a member on here.

I am liking the brakes though......mmmnnn Brembo goodness, although not finished with them yet. Wheels will be coming off and then will have choice of them or new wheels for when weather improves. My hunt for winter wheels continues......

  9. Hey all,

Looking for a set of winter wheels and been offered a set of 7x16" ET35 BBS RX. However, am currently running Ibiza Cupra R Brembo front brakes and I need to know if the wheels will fit over my brakes before I commit to a purchase. Ideally, I don't want to run spacers either. Has anyone got these wheels fitted wirth Brembos or can confirm whether they will fit either way ?

    Cheers
