That’s good to hear Jim! You’re probably right and I used to more modern (and less interesting!) cars these days.

Following with interest - in terms of the rear where do you guys jack when working on the suspension - guess the rear axle would be no good? Cheers

My mechanic remarked my car felt a little lumpy when warm after he gave it a once over last week (I’ve only had it for a few weeks and hadn’t really noticed). We did spot the PCV pipe was split (Part No: 7M0 128 101) and I’ve ordered a replacement but yet to receive and fit. This is our first line of investigation as the car is showing no fault codes. An air leak would give symptoms of rough running though so maybe you have something similar. I find my car can be a little snatchy on the throttle – i.e when coming off or on of the throttle while cruising it doesn’t feel smooth but then at other times it’s fine. I don’t get exactly the same symptoms as yours but thought it was similar enough to post my experiences so far.

Thanks and cheers for the pics and part numbers to illustrate - that's great! Yes Green is different but does look quite nice even though not OEM. I'm keen on OEM (+) too. Matt

I like the look of these H&R springs - checked out your gallery/thread fendervg. Thanks from the heads up on the spring cups Cressa - I've seen these in my research, I take it I need to source a couple of them from gsf/tps and replace what's on my car to no ill effect? Next question... what's the differece between ABE and Typ 53i? For exmaple I'm looking at these two options for the VR6 on this website for HR springs http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=hrsprings;car=vwcorrado;manufacturer=hr;sub_category=1 Thanks! Matt

Thanks for the Info :) Some more searching seems to suggest blestein B6 and some suitable 20-30mm springs (suggestions and pics much appreciated). I’m reading the B6s are dampers suitable for standard to up to -30mm spring drops which is the sort of thing I am after. I want to retain comfort and not too low.

Cheers fellas. All good then and I suppose the rust is just what happens after 23 years of getting wet and use!

Thanks makes sense. Just looking to get the rust repaired so wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, such as the seals in my coatings. Cheers Matt

Hi, I’m doing my research on suspension options as I need to replace the front shocks on my 95 VR6. I like the OEM plus look and want my car to sit a little lower. I have been considering the B12 kit but after reading people having loads of issues with the rear springs it’s put me off. I basically want my car to sit similar to an early VR6. Can I achieve this by just buying early style springs? Why are the later cars sitting higher than the first? Feel free to post pics of corrados on speedlines with modest drops :) Cheers Matt

When it rains I get a small pool of water on the door sill (visible when you open the door). Would this be the window scraper seal that needs replacing as it doesn’t sit flush with the door frames when doors are closed? I’ve got a bit of rust there on both sides because of it. Thanks

Cheers I shall have a look around for it 😀

Hi edd what are TAs? I’m standard at the mo and most of it is original at 150k....
-
Thanks Jez (just received my CCGB membership through - thanks for sending). B12s do seem the ticket. I won’t be making adjustments and one more thing to worry I’ve got wrong!
-
What’s the advantage with coilovers? Are they height adjustable? I just had visions of them making the car really low which I don’t fancy...

Hey all, I’ve read bits of this thread. I have a standard 95 VR6 and need to replace one of the front shocks as it is leaking. The rest of the suspension looks original, so I am thinking rather than buy a couple standard shocks, too mounts and bump stops I had may as well do the whole lot with a decent kit. I want something that just gives a very modest drop to keep it looking standard. I’ve sort of concluded the blestein b12s are my best bet. Should I be considering anything else. Blesteins appear to be around the 600 quid mark. I’ve read some stuff about HA and VA springs in this kit - what’s that all about?

As of two weeks ago I now own N865WJL - White VR6. It has had a couple of private number plates on it in the past (C*OMA & K*ELM) but this is the original plate it was first registered with. Currently being serviced by my mechanic on my driveway. It's a good example and has been well looked after. I would love to hear from previous owners if you're out there looking.

Well thread closed for me unless others want to post ideas for others. I found the Evolva for £79.99 on Amazon and considering it will last the kids until they're 12 it's not such bad value after all vs. other seats and at least I know this one will fit! Cheers Matt

Thank you. That looks like it will do the trick but yep expensive. I’ll probablt not get a couple for less than those. I’ll await more replies in hope... :)

Hi, I need to buy a couple of car seats for my Corrado for my girls – a 2 and 4 year old (she’s not far off 5 so seats past 4 years old would be better). What are you guys running? Last time I bought seats I was able to narrow down my selection using online seat finders but the Corrado doesn’t seem to feature on their lists. Bless ‘em - I need to sort this out pronto as they’re both itching to be taken out in my new car! Cheers Matt

Thanks Guy, i'm ok with a bit fettling/heat gun action to get it to fit. I have however decided I no longer need the passat wiper motor cover - i've been advised it doesn't clear the bonnet so no good to me.
-
Hi, After a couple of things Wiper Motor Cover & the Mk2 Scuttle tray if any one has them lying about to sell that would be great. Thanks, Matt
-
Thanks - mk2 jobby sounds like the way to go and hopefully parts prices are cheaper.
-
Hi, Not sure if I am missing some trim but by wiper motor is exposed, including the wire connectors. I opened my bonnet whilst wet yesterday and the motor and wires got covered in water. I'd like to source a scuttle cover or a wiper motor cover but haven't had much luck on googling. VW heritage are out of stock/not in production on the left side scuttle cover and I found on here some references to a passat B3 wiper motor cover but again can't find anywhere to buy one! I wasn't much of a fan of that aftermarket one piece scuttle (is it SKS or something). I'm going for OEM on this car or probably eventually OEM+. Any suggestions? Cheers all Matt

Nice Storm and good work on the bits you've done. I will need to do the headlining on my own at some point - thanks for the link.

Thanks - replied and cheers for taking the time to do this. Much appreciated.
