Ive the same problem in my early 16V, its been sitting up for 8 months now so im thinking the low battery could be a factor. I might pick up a fan motor and see if replacing it makes any difference.
-
This could be linked to your spoiler motor, i had a similar problem a few years back when my spoiler motor jammed and blue the fuse for the speedo. Best to chck the fuse board to see if there are any out before you go into the wiring.

I dont think its an issue once they are well locked down, especially on 4 pot brembos. I’m only looking to run them across the rear axel and possibly replace the existing lines i have into the callipers.

This is what im talking about 90 quid ant bad was that for the full lenght of the car up to the brake MC? Where did you get all the bits - Rally Design ?
-
Ive seen braded lines in some rally cars and in some of those showpiece Mrk 1s that never see the road so it must be possible to get it done. I have the small medium and larger pipe benders but they are not that easy to use when you’re trying to shape 3 foot of pipe under a car. I’m trying to avoid taking the axel off the car again.

Has anyone replaced the rear copper pipes that run along the rear axel with braded lines? I have the goodridge lines on the rears mrk iv calipers but I think there is a slight twist in one or the new copper lines I made. Im considering replacing the copper pipes on the rear axel with some braded ones, its just to tricky to bend the copper pipes along the rear axel and get a tidy finish on it. Im thinking maybe a 2 foot braded line would sit better and be less hassle to fit to the central lines along the under carriage. Has anyone carried out a similar job?

Yep they sure do, anyone got one?? :)

Im not sure if there is a stat on it its been a while since I had it off, I have it onto the power rhor and its cracked just at the angle causing the car to hunt when idle.

Ive noticed a huge difference in the 16V rear mount VW want mad money for it and Ive seen them in GSF for 27.50. Does anyone have the ETKA diagram of this mount?

Can anyone tell me the Part number on the air duct that fits to the TB on the 1.8 16V? How much do they cost to replace from a main dealer?

Not a bad rate, its a shame im based in dublin where "specialy" welding comes at a premium!

Did your tracking go out when you did them? Was told I might have to get the tracking done once they are fitted?

I need to fit one of these on the drivers side it came up in my MOT recently, has anyone advice on how to fit this? Will mrk 2 gaiters fit or do they have to be Corrado specific? Anyone got a part number on this one?
-
Went for the MOT today and there was structural rust spotted on the sills near the front end. It failed on structural rust damage and a drivers side headlight alignment. I was pleased it passed the emissions and alignment test, there

Ive got a fairly bad oil leak coming from the rocker cover on the cam belt side. In fact I have oil leaking onto my belts and inside the cover. I think its a combination of problems steming from the wrong oil cap to the RC gasket itself. I was told to go for a cork rocker cover gasket - has anyone got a part no on this? are they more effective than the rubber ones? This will be the 3rd RC gasket change in as many years, I have a feeling its the half moon seal or perhaps the gasket is pinched on the inside edge. At this stage its very frustrating no to mind messy. It could also be the cam seal itself but I changed this a couple of yrs back and didnt notice much of a leak at the time.

Ive been through 2 different oil caps on my 16V and each one I get appears to be leaking badly. The one I have on it currently is a 16V Mrk iv cap and I think its a breather cap cus I have oil all over the top of my rocker cover. Can anyone advise me on the correct cap with part no please. Ive been into GSF twice about it but they are muppets !

Had a good day out the car went well all day, took a few laps to get used to the new resurface parts of the track (mondello), stayed dry for most of it which was a help. Managed to get my turn in together as the day went on, put the car through it paces in the afternoon, I went with 30psi all round to start off and dropped the front from 34 back to 30 as they got warm every few laps. I got some good laps in with help from my co-pilot (rmn) I was very impressed with the Bridgestone road tires, they had plenty of grip and showed hardly any signs of wear after a day out. The new 25mm brake MC is giving a good pedal now even after a few hours on track the pedal is still good, that blue racing fluid has also improved the spongy feel on the brakes. All in all a good day out, managed to keep the car in shape and enjoyed the time out. Only downside was a small oil leak from the rocker cover gasket, also some oil leaking from the mrk iv cap I recently put on. Looks like its back the drawing board on that front ! Yeah im going to start off with 27psi on the fronts and see how I get on, ill be keeping an eye on them as the day goes on. I think the main problem I had the last time was heavy breaking into corners, I was on the brakes heavy quite late on turn in.

I’m running standard G60 15’ steeles tomorrow for a track day, does anyone know what tyre pressure to go with? Last time out I lowed the pressure too much on the front and I had a tyre come off the rim after 7 laps.

NIce job mate that wiring looked like fun !
