  1. Considering VW want £84.00 for just 17 bolts and washers for the stock 2.9 inlet manifold I thought I would have a bit of a search to see what was about. Just purchased this kit, all in £40 delivered from Germany with a bonus of the gaskets, under half price of what VW wanted just for the bolts and washers alone. Victor Reinz Upper metal gasket Victor Reinz lower metal Gasket 17 stainless steel bolts and washers. From German Ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Manifold-Gasket-Intake-Manifold-Screws-VR6-2-8-2-9-Turbo-AAA-Abv-Inlet-Manifold/283515517287?fits=Model%3ACorrado&epid=249129981&hash=item4202d77967:g:weIAAOSwokJaWdeN Result !

Yes might well do that and it will also act as a bit of film protection against stone chips.
  3. I've never been in one but they were certainly one of those cars when I was a youngster that when I walked past one I thought I wish I could own one of them one day. These will double in price in the next 5 years I'm sure of it.

Ok the new indicator lenses arrived today, obviously if the Hella ones were available I would of purchased a set of them because you can't beat OE quality. Overall happy with these new ones and we should all be thankful that there is a shelf option to replace our front indicator lenses, also at a reasonable price. They fit in perfect and secure. They are gross agreed was just surprised you could still order this stuff. One thing that can look pretty cool on a car is some modest side skirt trims , as the Rado just has that stone guard which looks pretty agriculture.
  13. Stumbled across this website , have a fair few body mod parts, not my sort of thing but also have things like bonnet Bra, spoilers, grill, window deflectors etc. https://www.madmotors.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/index/?p=1&q=corrado

Got my chrome bulbs ordered ready for the new indicator lenses . On the stock Hella ones they are clear bulbs that house on to an amber internal lens. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382-P21W-Chrome-Silver-Front-Indicator-Repeater-Lights-Bulbs-Upgrade-Lamps/192270913873?epid=14026110317&hash=item2cc43d5151:g:tE8AAOSw5n5ZiaBz&frcectupt=true

They should fit , there are only three variations of late style fogs. Our spec France yellow glass Dummy No variations for left + RHD No 10 on diagram http://www.oemepc.com/vw/part_single/catalog/vw/markt/RDW/modell/COR/year/1995/drive_standart/76/hg_ug/941/subcategory/220000/part_id/3690176/lang/e#sec_10

Im pretty sure they will be correct as they are just made specific for the Corrado. The actual glass lens is flush with the housing trim so I think the picture is misleading , they appear to be sold out now by the looks of it, but I'm sure they will make a new batch . There is that matter of are the LHD the same as RHD , is it just the main headlights that are different anyone know?

    Springs Advice

Ok that does sound odd that they have the same springs, have you contacted the manufacturer to confirm that, or Larkspeed are pretty good. I know the golf and Corrado VR6 share the same springs.

    Springs Advice

My H and R springs came off some tired Yellow sports Bilstein shocks that were about 15 years old so I can'r really comment, however I imagine they were a great sports set up when new but Ive always prefered a softer set for the sort of motoring I do. Don't quote me on it but I think the H and R springs need to be used with sports shocks as they are stiffer then the Eibach, maybe someone else knows off here ? H and R are a quality brand .

    Springs Advice

If the shocks are not worn then the Eibach are fine with B4 shocks. I have that set up myself. Remember these after market companies sell these springs normally stand alone to go on stock struts, you could splash out more for some sportier shocks but the ride quality will be a bit more harsh especially over bumpy roads . Depends what you want sport/handling or comfort, I went half way so did the B4 set up with Eibach springs , but more then anything the ass on a Rado needs to be dropped so it don't look like the car fell on the chassis from factory. Retailing companies will always try and sell you the whole set up of B12 etc because it increases the premium. I spoke to Eibach and they advised me that the B4 shocks are 10 % stiffer then stock shocks and It was fine to put the lowering /springs on them. With any lowering spring though it will shorten the life of your shocks of course but still good for 8/10 years I reckon.
  25. Powder coating is not the best but is cost efficient, my Rado is a second car and I don't take it out in rain or snow, so I'm quite happy with powder coating.
