Yeah Mark Yates his still about and works in something else I cant quite remember - bit of a story. I take it BR Motorsports did quite alot with Audi or audi parts as my contact is in the Audi classic world. Cool picture what a beast, I believe at the end before BR departed they went onto mobility or something bizarre like that but this council lock up is full of blocks and nos parts (not sure there will be any related VR6 stock) all the audi parts need to be moved first as physically cant walk in there. -

Do you want me to post on the FB MK 2 owners club anyone seen this car ? So many of these Mk2 got write off by young kids. My mate had a lovely one with with a six speed dogleg Gemma Motorsports gearbox and various engine mods- was a proper high revving racy engine- anyway kid purchased it off him at work and write it off after 2 weeks- he told him a few days after- anyways he rushed down the scrapers to try and get the engine and gearbox but the car had been flipping crushed . So do you remember the BR Motorsports conversions - he use to work for GTI engineering but branched out on his own - Stealth was a young rival of his. 1.9L BRM 170 2.0L BRM 180 BRM 2.0 16v 9a engine Stage 3 cylinder head with big valves Schrick 260 cams ITBs Weber Alpha Management Uprated solid engine mounts 4 branch heat wrapped manifold with full stainless longlife exhaust Mocal Oil Cooler RR'd at 205 bhp @ 6,500 rpm, 163lb/ft @ 5,240rpm Good thread here. https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/mk2-golf-project-brm180-engine-with-weber-alpha-conversion.229013/ -

Im hearing you loud and clear could be company vehicle claim back costs and cooler then a Transit ha. They do look good in white is that a Kamei lip spoiler to and an ultra rare none sunroof model ? What happened to the car = do you remember a firm called BR Motorsports) Warwickshire) Dox and the belated Brian Ricketts - I know who has all his stock and the chap(Midlander) that purchased it off the family after he passed away - has new Nothelle pistons - built up blocks you name it in a council lock up- that much stuff cant move in there- I m in ongoing talks with him to purchase it but he needs to get some stuff out the way first. -

π€£ A machine gun would look good on the back. On a brighter note this looks a solid buy with good mileage and price as could easily be advertised as 15k car these day. Has new eibach and B4 they ride lovely on a Mk2 + also pas and electric windows . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MK2-GOLF-GTI-16V-3-DOOR/265016490414?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 -

Yeaks not sure why you would do this to a low miler Valver why not do it to a 1.3 and do an engine swap. Each to there own I suppose does look sort of cool tbf and a one off. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-VW-GOLF-GTI-MK2-16V-OAK-GREEN-1-OWNER-59K-FVWS-PICK-UP-1-OF-SHOW-CAR/114632490365?hash=item1ab0a0fd7d:g:sW0AAOSwCQBgAdH- -
Thanks for the initial heads up it was certainly worth a shot- I have been in contact with AKG in Germany to see if they would be doing a batch in the future but the lady said to call the next day but I never got round to it. AKG also have a UK branch, a shame rado owner dont work there ha. https://www.akg-uk.co.uk/

Looked at that one Dox and its a Dasis and is infarct the company I purchased from.
-
Thanks Cressa it was worth a bash - don't be surprised if a AKG one is ever made again if it is called Mahle because they have purchased Hella refrigeration- also worth looking out for Nissens in case they bring a batch out made by AKG.

Ok chap but here is the check out and showing that price. One would have to check if they do international shipping. https://www.daparto.de/Warenkorb
-
Just an update got an email off Amazon saying will be delivered on the 18th followed by an email an hour later saying out of stock will give a refund . So conclusion Dasis is the only OE fitting radiator available on planet earth for a VR at this present moment π I will still be fitting the new Hella Fan so will give an update on that instead.

Found this website in Germany - its searches all the part companies in DE and is a price comparison site. For example put in my car details in search then choose cooling - dasis rad ony Β£31.00 !!!! https://www.daparto.de/Kuehler/VW-Corrado-53I/2-2166-823?kbaTypeId=4221

Its confusing- for example should we now get things vat tax free from Europe and then they add on the vat - my gut feeling is at the moment a lot of ebayers will have deleted not EU vat then and then vat also added on by ebay automatically on checkout 20 percent so getting double bubbled ???

For sure Ive always said the biggest issues with trucks and vans is they are normally driven by people that dont own them.

Its mental I purchased it in 2007 with 60k something for 7 inc Vat , Have replaced two clutches - fuel pump, alternator, , battery and that is it - have had the chassis welded twice as well. I think Im going to let her go for a Euro 6- I always kept her because kept hearing horror stories off other contractors- in the last six months first lad 2 year old transit has had a new gear box and engine ( he purchased it second hand) was over 60 k on clock so no warrantee off Ford - exactly the same happened to a chap with an ecobosst Ford Ranger I think he called it . Might get an Iveco this time, I like the quad wheels on the rear axle and Merc plus VW always seem to have the single axle . I have to have a 4m internal flatbed. What you reckon I could get Shaun ? - Mk6 Transit - 166k on the clock cat free- normal age related surface rust on wings and sills= has 11 month mot cat free- every switch works and electrics. Mine is a drop side Alloy flatbed, they are one of the hardest variants to find. Look at this for example well over what I expected an no bed which can be pricey https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-transit-smiley-mk5/254828372407?hash=item3b54f461b7:g:wSUAAOSwjDpf-c82 Holy cow or maybe I might just store her at my yard ha. 11k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-transit-mk-2-tipper-rat-look/203223153729?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144

I would say so - one other thing I have noticed connected to COVID is vans have shot up in price as well. / was thinking of getting rid of my oldest flatbed transit 52 Reg and was expecting 1k max - to my shock they are selling for 2 to 3 k with even some as Spares and repairs and of course the orange peril. Been told itβs due to courier demand they are earning Upto 1k a week at the moment the self employed lads . My mate who supplies HGV drivers to blue chip companies and supermarket companies has just purchased one of them new Lamborghini suv had a record breaking quarter - we have been below average sales ourselves

If your car came from factory with aircon maybe that has something to do with uprated electrics- who knows. then again I dont think any rhg came from factory with aircon.
-
Thanks. There was a track package but now it has diapered = although it never moved past the order received box - it now says shipment delayed will be n touch when order shipped - so pressed the cancel button and returned sorry we cant cancel- so I will leave it another week- would be nice if they could say yes it is coming rather the order just dangling in the abyss.

Hadnt thought about that chap that is a Brucie Bonus.
