  1. PMSL /\ :D How on earth do people with cars like that not suffer huge embarrassment?!?
  2. Winchbietch, Fla and Daves16V - You should get your bits on Monday. I'm doing another post run on Monday, so easypops, redborbet & JonVR6, you'll get yours on Tuesday. ---------- Post added at 3:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 3:58 PM ---------- I bought it new from VW, yes, but it's been used on my VRT engine very briefly.
  3. I forgot to answer your helper spring question. That basically stops the main spring dropping down when the car is jacked up. KW do sell longer springs, but not long enough to allow you ditch the helpers. You could fit longer springs but they'd be the same rate, so kind of pointless and the dampers are designed to work with short springs anyway as the piston travel is very limited compared to the standard setup. It could be you're hitting the bumpstops? It sounds counter intuitive but sometimes fitting stiffer springs gets round that and doesn't always make things worse. The worst riding Corrados I've been in have always been the lowest ones. Everything is on the ragged edge and they almost ride on the BSs permanently!
  4. Lol, bad experience? :D I only like old school BMWs. E30s, E34s, E39 M5 and Z3M coupe. The rest of the stuff they churn out these days to fill every niche market , they can keep! There are some bonkers E34 M5 turbos out there, including this mental 1000hp one. Turn the volume up! The smoke is from the red drifting tyres. Very chav. Just love that turbo noise though!
  5. Dear god. Reminds me of rich people using one of these.... .....to ferry themselves over to this.
  6. As I no longer have a VW anymore, I thought I'd clear out some bits I've been hoarding over the years as they're of more use to you guys than me! R32/BDE 2.8 coils. All used and all work. £6 each posted, or set of 6 for £30 posted. Ideal as spares. 24V/R32 crank sensor. Used but works. £30 posted. R32/BDE 2.8 cam sensors. Very recent and work fine. £98+VAT each new! £30 each posted or £50 for the pair. Genuine VR6 Blue temp sender. Used but works fine. £5 posted. SOLD Bosch 3 bar fuel regulator. For OBD2 conversions or Turbo VR6s using big injectors. £20 posted. Pair of Headlight plug shells. Ideal for tidying up an uprated loom. Needs new pins, which are readily available from online auto electric suppliers. £6 posted. SOLD Pair of seat release handles, with clips. £6 posted. SOLD Red VR6 grille badge. I'm not a greedy *******, so £20 posted for this highly sought after part. Just the usual stone chips but otherwise perfect. SOLD Window switches. All work but have the clips missing. £6 each posted. 1 DRIVER'S SIDE LEFT Headlight switch. Works fine. £10 posted. SOLD VR6 cam sensors. 1 x new and 2 x used but very low mileage. 7. I think all the KW kits use the same spring rate (400inlb front, 275inlb rear). The ride quality was excellent on my V3s, so it's got to be the dampers. They are what cost the money. The springs are practically worthless. As I said in my lengthy post above, the preset high speed bump is often too firm on these kits, but dropping down to KW's softer spring option (325inlb front, 225inlb rear) may take the edge off the harshness. Don't forget this time of year, everything is firmer: the tarmac, your tyres, your bushes, your c0ck, your damper oil etc etc. A low ride height doesn't help matters either, but I don't think you're a member of the slam brigade though are you? :D
  8. An 8V G60 won't make 350hp. The most I've seen from a 2.0 big valve and stage 4 charger was ~270ish hp, which was in a silver MK1 Stealth built many years ago. You'll need to build a 16V G60 to get 300hp or more but there's a couple of guys on here with such engines who can advise more on that. As for the VR6, a relatively relaxed bar of boost from a turbo on a standard engine with head spacer will comfortably see 400hp. Add 263 cams and that can rise to 430hp, depending on exhaust size and configuration. As others have said, it's not cheap! Using the best components and with a rebuilt engine using lowered compression forged pistons, you're looking at the thick end of £10K. Or you could spend that on an M5 and get 400hp as standard and a chassis that no Corrado will ever come close to, no matter how much cash you throw at it ;) Don't get me wrong, I've been there and got all the T shirts available for VR6 modding, but I wouldn't do it again. Mainly because the car just can't cope with the power.
  9. Thanks Dec, but Dannyboy came in first with the asking price over PM. I know that's frowned upon on here but as it says in the rules, it's not something I can get involved with as a mod unfortunately! You have 2nd dibs if anything changes. Cheers guys
  10. It's a standard throttle mate, so no advantage. It's selling point is it's low mileage ;) I had to buy this one when the throttle in my old OBD2 setup started misbehaving.
  11. It can only be used with OBD2 setups mate.
  12. Long time no see on here mate! Got a very low mileage OBD2 throttle body (bought new from VW) in the parts section if it helps get your OBD2 parts collection rolling :D
  13. Got a 24V sump on the garage floor. Direct fit to 12Vs. Gasket not required. Just some engine grade silicon sealant. £40 posted.
  14. I bought this new from VW a few years ago and it covered less than 5000 miles. BIG money new!! £350! The coolant inputs have been cut off as it was fitted to a short runner intake, but the remaining brass tubes can be drilled out and new ones pressed in, or just bypass completely as most people do. £50 posted
  15. *New* MK4 R32 fuel rail and 4 bar fuel reg. Great for MK5 engine conversions and keeping the stock fuel lines etc. The rail alone costs £105+ VAT from VW. £50 posted.
  16. Here we have a fuel pump kit good for 600hp, comprising:- 1) Integrated Engineering Surge Tank with Bosch 044 pump - http://www.intengineering.com/integrated-engineering-submerged-044-billet-surge-tank-with-pump 2) Genuine Audi S2 fuel filter 3) -6 fittings prefitted to surge tank and filter 4) 6 x Speedflow -6 fuel hose fittings 5) Speedflow -6 check valve (stops drain back) There is some minor cosmetic damage to the surge tank, but nothing a quick coat of Hammerite won't cover :-) I had this on my old VR6 turbo and it provided tonnes of fuelling and worked superbly. No stuttering round corners with less than 1/4 tank. Will work with factory in-tank pump but you might get better results with a walbro in-tank. It wasn't used for long ( £200 posted Here is how I had it fitted to my Corrado:-
  17. My mate used to have an 1800 carb cabrio with a rivage kit on it. The scuttle shake from that thing was hilarious! I remember Awesome's peach MK1 VR6 (tin top) from years ago and they had to put a lot of work into it to kill the understeer! All 3 cars will understeer like mad when pushed to the limit, but if the MK2 has the widetrack conversion and 288s, I think it stands a good chance against the corrado. It'll have more punch out of the corners due to it's lower weight.
  18. That is so cheap! You can't even make your own with silica gel in a hair net for less than that!
  19. Yep common problem on most rear coilovers. You'll have to dismantle the strut and cut the old spring perch off. I used to buy mine from KW direct and were about £15 each IIRC.
  20. Yeah sounds like the relay. I think the alarm controls the indicators directly as they tend to blink at a different rate.
