Simple yes or no.. I've been told that it will bolt on no probs, but want more input on this... So, Basically, a complete O.E G60 driveshaft joining to a VR6 box.. Thanks

Im going to actually start putting the pieces of my engine together soon, just waiting on some parts... Just wondering if anyone recommends somewhere else other than vw to buy new gaskets, seals and other renewal parts from? Also, I want a low cut fan switch and uprated thermostat. I heard Neuspeed make these? Any clues on a distributor? Im up for buying stuff from the states, so if anyone has any U.S site links, that be great? Take the time to check the price here!! Sooo cheap, but is it worth it, Wher ehave you guys bought renewal bits such as gaskets from? http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pag ... ory=Gasket http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pag ... ry=Cooling Many thanks

Jesus!! How the hell you get a figure of 217brake! Thats awesome! I hope my engine produces something near that figure! Lovely car which just got better! -
Bin your plastic one and replace with one of these!! Made in the U.S, Not a soul has one here in teh u.k, so they'll be pretty exclusive!! Will look cool too... "To be honest, the pipe is hand made by a aircraft machinist who has been in his industry for 25yrs and the only way I can even break even on current pricing is because my machinist sort of does this on side for me during slow times. Its hard to reduce too much further, but maybe quantity will drive lower cost. " So... Normally they are $100 EACH, PLUS $25 shipping (2 days) But, dependent on numbers, it'll be a flat rate of $100.. As the pound is destroying the dollar at the mo, that means we get this part for ONLY 55.9879 GBP!!!!!!! Please post below, simply with your name and any questions..Sooner the better! At least 5 people would be great, I'd get these now while they are cheap.. You may see them being retailed soon for a bit more!

Talking with a few people today, and they made apoint after some calculations, that there is sooo little difference going from a 2.9 - 3.0 that there would be hardly any difference.. So the money could be spent doing other stuff like a quaiffe LSD, Chip and re-map and other lil bits such as a Turn 2 pulley e.t.c... As VR6 engine enthusiasts/tuners, what are your oppinions? Im now thinking, instead of getting the forged pistons I was due to, with a turn2 crank pulley.. Just get the crank pulley and spend half the money I was goin to by getting new bearings throughout and other bottom end renewal parts on getting the engine properly mapped and an LSD..

Love this car!! Definetly just pushed me to buy another corrado! Sorry if you see a dead replica of yours going about! lol :D
-
Not too bad when you got mates in good places! :D
-
Have any of you guys done this conversion, just after some 'experienced' oppinions! What are your thoughts on the conversion? Thanks 8)
-
So you've got alot of experience, you'll be the one to come to ;) Not all bad! So im more than likely going to have to get the bores done to an exact 83mm... Im doing ALL gaskets, even T/B, chains and guides are mint already luckily, oil pump im going to change and thats all for now.. Getting flywheel done, decat and full system, then keep money for petrol and myself through winter... Hopefully be a nice runner fingers crossed!
-
Mate! Its YOUR fault! If you never showed me that the pistons were that cheap, I wouldn't be doing it!! lol Thanks ;) Wont be ordering till mid sept though, when the old student loan comes!
-
Hopefully my man doing the rebore will know, but he says to me to try my best to get the most accurate figures.. The pistons are 83mm according to the site, but that could be refering to the bore size.. I'll have a caht with the EIP tuning guys or whoever I buy from when I order the pistons, I guess they'll know! Thanks
-
Scrub that... I've just seen you get a piston ring set.. Im gonna put the VR conversion on hold for a bit, so I can get the pennies together to get the 3.0 ltr pistons and get my mate to bore the block for me... The pistons are 83mm, what would I get the block bored to? 83, 83.1??
-
Bloody hell!! Thats only £445 for a set of pistons from EIP!.. I take it they dont include piston rings, so thats a bit more on top ?
-
lol Your bad for the bank account!! lol How much out of interest? What sorta gains will they give, im begining to think 'F it' and go mad..
-
Hi, sounds good! Im just getting the OE one lightened and balanced by HiFlowHeads (hiflowheads.co.uk) How much do these aftermarket ones go for? Must be £250+
-
Are any of the hoses on the VR6 engines 5mm??? One coming out of TB? Fuel lines? e.t.c thanks
-
Will have to cut it! Had to remove the rear axle on my golf and replace it which wasn't fun!! Can't stand rusty bolts!! Thanks!
-
Trying to remove the exhaust system from my corrado.. Still has manifold attached as all the bolts are rusted and just fall to bits as soon as a spanner touched them.. Just need advice The exhaust goes over the rear axle, do you HAVE to cut the pipe or is there a technique? Thanks
-
I want a cat by-pass for a VR6! Depending on cost
-
100% going to have ti balanced.. No VR6 owners with it then?? Does it add anything to 'pub talk' BHP and Torque figures? Sounds good on a G60..
-
Anyone had this done? Hiflowheads will lighten it for £55 and balance it for £35 + V.A.T.. Were the 'benefits' noticable? Also, has anyone just had it lightened and NOT balanced and could you feel the 'judder'? What increase in perforamce can it give?
-
The bored look and are mint on the new bottom end, so result there.. Been told to replace the big end bearings and piston rings.. Piston rings around£70/80 for a set of 3, or the lot?
-
Um, stil hope for a 93k one then! I saw on a site, £80 for piston rings.. I presumed that was for all of them! Not just 3!! This is where I wish I went for a valver! lol
-
Hi.. I'm picking up a bottom end (2.9 VR6) which has covered 93k.. For piece of mind, I'd like to fit new piston rings and big end bearings... Well, I've been told I can't find OEM VW piston rings as they wont wear in correctly due to the bored being a bit worn after doing 93k? If this is true, what can i do.... I've not got a huge budget, so whats the best route to take with getting this bottom end to a trust worthy reliable level... Thanks (I dont want to buy new pistons, crank regrind, reprofiling e.t.c e.t.c as it al costs tooo much for a student! Mark

Oh nice... Fingers crossed its fine then.. Got a local engineering place near me, and im fine about lugging the block around. My mate may even be able to do the piston rings which would be a result! How do you go about doing the piston rings out of interest? When looking at a bottom end, are there any obvously things to look for? Guess I'll stick with the OE gasket..
