Not updated this for a little while Not been to well for a few weeks myself then my grandad passed away, So, Purchased some spax adjustables with 40 or 60mm drop Front strutbrace Been purchasing lots of bits & pieces for my spare engine Painted my spare engine black, rocker cover red & inlet manifold satin black Fitted new flanges, cambelt tension etc, water pump, fitted kr cam, new timing chain spent the weekend swapping over the engines got some bits and pieces still to connect bolt up first off need to sort out a manifold as my o.e was has a crack in it

  6. After doing my engine swap found a crack in my manifold so am after a replacement thanks chris

Yesterday spent te day with a mate removing the 9a engine & box from the car got held up by the exhaust for a bit Found a crack in the manifold so gonna need to sort out a replacement Todays jobs are to finish building up the new 9a i got with alot of new parts, new cambely & tensioner & kr cam, bolt on the box & clutch then refit to the car

  12. cheers david & kempy Do you know the cost on the injectors? I'll look into the porting or can this be done diy? Worth fitting a 4 branch manifold? is so which would be best?
  13. Just wondering if anybody has a engine lift/host i can borrow for a weekend while i swap my engines over i'm on the border of leics,cambs, lincs etc cheers chris

I've got a spare 9A engine which i intend to swap over with my current engine Its already had the tolerances on the oil pump checked, Heads been cleaned & inspection of bores via camera Previous owner of engine has done above, was a raf engineer Now i intend to change/fit new Cambelt Kit KR Cam Cam chain Aux Belts Water Pump Thermostat Oil/water Cooler Injectors Been cleaned New Sensors Any thing else i should do/consider or upgrade while its still sat on the stand waiting to go in
  15. Nearly got the colst start idleing sorted, which is down to the isv Also fitted some all red rears
  16. i'm just sorting mine out at the moment which is the isv, i've soaked it overnight so far and its made it alot better but not perfect Going to take it off again and leave it to soak for a while and should be right as rain then
  17. I'm just in the process of doing my insurance My passat as main car & the corrado as second car limited to 4k miles & social only Best i can get is £763 fully comp for both couple of other companys wanted nearly a grand just for the passat
  18. fitted moon roof Got the glovebox & boot lock to work from the key Fitted new seal to the heater ventilation in scuttle bay Tracked down the abs fault sort of, blown bulb & tested with test lght shows bulb illuminated all the time so need to get that read
  19. today was just to spend a few hours doing a few bits and pieces So Old sunroof cassette out & the B4 Passat moonroof in Really easy job to do, airlined out the drain holes My o.e motor is dead so bolted the passat one up for the time being till a replacement is bought I've been trying to get the tumblers to retumbler a couple of locks but vw wanted £50 Stripped down the glove box and went old skoll on the barrel. smoothed down worked at treat Boot lock, well stripped it down gave it all a damm good clean and was fine just got that much crud in it, it wasn;t operating off the key does now so good couple cheap fixes Replaced the seal round the heater ventilation in scuttle bay, old one had seen its day Tracked down the ABS to a blown bulb, put my test light onto it and stays on all time so need to get the abs ecu read & new bulb unit thats about all for today, few more bits to look at next week on me days off
  20. havent had much time recently to get anything done but picked up a complete b4 moonroof assembly today so thats the job for tomorrow Had an uprated headlight loom delivered
