  1. Phil, Did you see anything similar to me after you fitted your KR inlet cam? It seems odd the car seems quicker now I fitted the KR cam, but the BHP figures are, well pants really. I'm wondering if my car has been running under the stock 136bhp since I bought it.. which is a worry because it beat a bog standard un-modified 9a 16v off the lights and on up to 80 the other day, whereas before I had the mods done it was near enough identical... I'm a little confused by all this an beginning to question the accuracy of the Rolling Road session... arghhhh!!
  2. gradeAfailure, Its the flywheel figure that showed the 138.1 (I'd be over the moon if it was at the wheels dude!) :) I thought the KR was mechanical and the 9A was electronic? Not sure Vince would suggest a ECU chip re-map to sort the fuelling if it was mechanical (??) chrishill, I will shove the old ECU back in and see if it makes any difference. Out of interest does anyone know if there is a Rolling Road in West London ? Stealth is a fair trek for me....
  3. Hi all, I was up at Stealth on Saturday with Vince. I had my 2.0L 16v C dyno'd and was knocking out 138.1bhp. Sounds fine and dandy for a stock 16v (9a) valver, but mine has had a KR Inlet cam fitted, Blitz chip, K&N Panel filter and Powerflow exhaust (with cat fitted) all installed and the car does feel noticeably quicker than it did when standard, but 138.1 BHP sounds a tad low to me, i thought I'd see at least 150+ (??) Vince mentioned that my car was running very lean indeed. He suggsted that the Blitz chip may be causing this and I'll change the chip over and see what difference it makes. However I am not convinced.. (I'm no expert so I'll take Vince's advise before writing his suggestion off) but what I was wondering is 1) Does the BHP figure the Rolling Road gave out sound right? 2) On the 9A engine (KE Jetronic) does the the ECU control all fuelling? 3) Anyone else have lean running C's which were attributed to faulty ECU's? All the sensors on the car are fine, there are no vacum leaks. Vince can sort this problem out for about £250 for a chip re-map, but I'd like to poll you chaps here for any ideas/ comments
  4. I fitted a "hump" into my back seat an put my CD Autochanger under it. I bolted the bracket to the chassis (just behind the rear ashtray). I'll get some snaps if you want them dude, I have the car with me in the office today.
  5. Hi Fla, Aye they know their stuff alright, did a good job on my C. I'm in Twickenham, so not too far to go. Where you work? Up on the 406? You go up to the ACE cafe events? I've been meaning to get my ar5e up there for ages...
  6. Cleaner pics added. I want to get it lowered, but with all the speed bumps in London I'm going to wait until I leave, I've already lost the 90mm spoiler to a sleeping policeman on standard height  Fitted a 50mm one for the time being to stop any more breakages... :)
  7. Saw a black valver with private plate A? ??? on the A316 today about 11:30'ish, was a left hooker looking totally standard Black G60 parked up in Ashford Middlesex on the Feltham road, looked good slammed with tidy 17's. Seems to be there most days. Silver C driving towards Richmond yesterday very low on BBS 15's yesterday about 10am. Anyone one here?
  8. Yup, Southern monkies! Abbey Coachworks of Wembley not only deserve to be named and shamed but should rot in the firey pits of hell IMO, they're dishonest, rude and know nothing about repair works or customer service, just a bunch or arrogant morons. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Another one to avoid is Heathrow Volkswagon on the A30 in Ashford, Middlesex, but thats another story!
  9. Lots of London based C owners around here so just in case you have the misfirtune to have a prang make sure you do not use Abbey Coachworks of Wembley for the repair work! I was involved in a minor shunt a while ago, front and rear damage (minor) (front bumper, grill, bonnet, rear bumper) My C went into Abbey Coahworks for repair as they are a repair center for Elephant.co.uk. My gripe with tme is: It took them 4 months to fix my car, when I got it back: 1) They had snapped the passenger seat recliner handle 2) They forced open my sunroof and bust it (oily fingerprints on roof lining) 3) Oil warning light was constantly flashing (they screwed the loom) 4) Bonnet was not fitted correctly 5) Windscreen jets not plugged back in 6) Paint job was shocking, started peeling after a week! 7) Oily rags and associated garage mess in car. 8 ) Minus the dents the car came back worse than it went in. They denied breaking anything to the point of being extremely rude. Their workmanship is equivilant to that of a 4 year old with a hammer. They are a filthy bunch to toerags who I reported to Trading Standards, Watchdog and comapnies house they do not deserve to be in business. It took me a year of arguing with elephant.co.uk (who didn't want to know) they also denied anything was wrong with my cars repairs, it was not until I started court action against them it finally got resolved. Sooo, if you love your C and you don't want monkies "repairing" it; DO NOT USE Abbey Coachworks of Wembley, and if you use Elephant.co.uk as you're insurer, make sure you tell them where you want your car repaired if you have a dink and get recomendations from the boys and girls on this forum as to where to go!
  10. Just had my car down with Dips at Yaash Motorsport in Wembley and had a very positive experience. I had the KR Inlet cam fitted to my 9A plus a cam belt change plus associated gaskets and lubricants. They've done a good job and the price was well below what I expected to pay. 8) My 2p worth is, if you're considering using Yaash Motorsport you should have no worries, they are polite, quick and know what they are doing with VW's. They even have a 20v Turbo Corrado as their project car (290bhp at the flywheel!!) so they know their way around a C. I'll be using them again for future work. Thanks to whoever submitted their name to the Suppliers Forum!
  11. Right, managed to get the ol' girl clean finally, images taken on camera phone so not to great. Engine Mods: Powerflow Exhaust, K&N Panel filter, Blitz Chip, KR Inlet Cam Other Mods: Headlight loom upgrade, lupo wipers, fk rear light cluster, all switches changed to red LED's and reverse LCD display. To come: G60 brakes and lowered 40mm (edit: cleaner images added)
  12. Only ever seen 2 of these on the roads in my life. Not many around now because it is a renault!
  13. Well here's mine, looks more dirty in the flesh, but nothing compared to some of your C's on here! You filthy gits! :)
  14. I bought a KR Inlet cam from wcrado a few days ago and recieved it this morning! So, a super speedy transaction from monsieur wcrado. great salesman, recommended! PS. You can rest assured anything you get from this guy will arive in one piece, it'll take me a few days just to get through the packaging!
  15. Just to throw a spanner in the works, I've heard that the Cat on the 2.0L 16v does not impact the BHP much at all. Anyone running a 2.0L 16v with decat pipe? Notice any difference in performance? I have a Powerflow SS exhaust system with a sporty cat (from a Subaru apparently??) which does not have much in the way of a restriction and I noticed a little difference (mainly low end torque) from standard after it was fitted..
  16. Our Police force are nothing but glorified Tax collectors these days. Sure they will investigate high profile crimes, but us little people get very little support if we have problems. If you're a hard working, tax paying, law abiding citizen then chances are you're easy prey for Stealth tax collectors if you step out of line for henous offences such as speeding. Career criminals have it relativley easy these days because everything has been put inplace to protect their human rights, i.e if they cut themselves breaking into your house, chances are they can sue you!! How screwed up is that. You just gotta laugh really...
  17. This sounds to me like either a loose fanbelt or even a dodgy alternator... I'd check these out first.
  18. ^^^ He got a 500+ HP adding stickers on it and associated add on tat? ;)
  19. Mmmm looks like I am not unique after all, I too make sure the seats are lined up the same distance from the dash, I've also snappedoff the passenger height ajustment handle so passengers can't keep messing with the seat geometry.. hehehe Plus heater vents are all lines up... I just can't help myself!! I componsate for this anality by allowing drinking, eating, smoking and from what happened last month with a young lady from the local boozer much more besides. yahoo!
  20. fla, I believe the inverter (I may have called it the converter in error) is in the ciggie/ cigar lighter plug which you can wire into the cars 12v electric supply. Either way the setup works fine on a 12v dc supply.
  21. IMO it should work fine, I guess you could even have standard green if your keeping your 'rado OEM. Night shots added, sorry about quality of shots taken on pokey camera phone.
  22. Actually no I didn't... can't believe I missed an opportunity to get free porn... I've updated the "How To" with the gauge of EL Wire I used. :)
  23. You can get different gauge of EL wire, I used the 2.3mm diameter but I believe you can get thinner and thicker diameters. Try a guy called red_ferrari who owns an e-bay shop called M-99, thats where I got mine: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Neon-El-Wire- ... dZViewItem Hope this helps
  24. I'll get some pic's of the finished result tonight, need it to be nice and dark :)
