BF+I. You sure it needs to come out? I took mine out to check wireing but you should be able to get at the relays with it in situ. Careful with the wire for the light
-
Yup. Take out the lower shelf and with a torch you can see the three relays up in front of the glove box. They are stiff to get out. If you can, use a non metallic thingy to prise the relay out of its holder ( The relay is live). If you just pull, the whole connector will come out and break the retaining clip. (experiance!!) No problem changing it with the battery connected as long as the ignition is off.
-
Since changing relay 79 all problems have stayed away. Need to remove lower shelf at least to change it
-
The space saver you have fitted at the rear will spin at a different rate than the rest of the wheels causing the ABS computer to throw a wobbly which might cause the light to come on
-
Any hot tips for the rear engine mount? cx front and gearbox a while ago, car now jerky again on, off gas
-
VR Gearbox mount is a 'hyldraulic' unit that should be ok unless it leakes the grease filling
-
Possibly some repair after some damage :(
-
Was it fitted as standard? Perhaps yours is a mod. Just a thought
-
Fitted non 'V' and they work fine.

This Forum is starting to cost me money! Had the car 10 years and put up with all the little annoying habits and then I discover all the mods that people have done. I can now see in the dark with a new loom and bulbs and now when it rains I don't have to drive at 30 mph 'cos i cant see. Brilliant!!! Neil's top tip......when fitting the Lupo wipers test them with a wet screen before fully tightening the nuts as they will park in the correct place

The rubber gaitor on my clutch slave cylinder got caught in the piston and gave similiar problems on a VR6. Luckily cx under warranty (several moons ago!)
-
Is there an echo in here?! :D
-
Forgot to say it only happened when the car was hot. Always started when cold

do you get a quiet click and slight dimming of inst lights when fully turning the key? If so the solenoid is not travelling fully into position thus not making the internal connection to the main power. This is usually caused by worn teeth on either the motor or flywheel. Rocking the car in gear sometimes workes to move the flywheel a bit. I see you changed your motor. I changed mine on a VR6 and cured the problem, though did it twice so far after, wiggling the exciter wire remade the connection. Good luck!!

Over-revving on gear change (and now tighten throttle cable)
buttles replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Does the G60 have a throttle damper like the VR6? Might be holding the valve open too long..... -
The Sykes-pickavant adapter for the VR6 corrado is No. 1 (036105) Which is stamped on the side of it.

Just done the rear bearings and discs on mine. To add to the gloom, had to adjust the handbrake cable quite a lot to get back to one click. I managed to re-use the ABS cage by gently prising it off and pinching the 'legs' back together with a fine pair of pliers to its original diameter. The caliper carrier bolts are very soft so the heads can be drilled off if you strip the head.( The lower one at least!)

got the hoses done and still spongey. will try the pads. thanks. can't help thinking some give is in the master cylinder
-
Sorry for dragging brakes up again. Has anyone seen an inprovement to pedal feel by replacing the master cylinder seals. All the other things like rear calipers and the like have been checked but still get fairly spongey pedal. Or are they allways like that?!! The pedal doesn't sink when held down so no internal leakage. Cheers.

don't forget the screw under the speaker cover!!!!!

There are threads for all of the above on this site. In a nutshell vagcom will tell you if you have any of the problems listed. ABS power relay is one of three located in front of the glovebox, you need to remove the lower shelf at least. I can't rember which one it is. 10 quid. One is abs power, one is pump relay, not sure what other one is for. Vagcom throws up code power B+. For a tenner good place to start if you can't get hold of vagcom. I have it in Redhill, bit far round maybe!

New ABS relay cured mine. Light coming on after 10-20 minutes

had abs light come on after about 10 minutes driving. would reset with engine restart. Turned out to be abs relay failing. 10 quid
