  1. Antera, on the -AG ECU that doesn't work. Tryed it and the car is worse. Only thing that resolved the problem is upping the Throttle setting to 15.4 with a MAF fitted. My car now runs as STd. Lucky me :)
  2. I think the engine was a modded Hawk engine as the rear of the car didn't have the variable exhaust nozzle a la Jaguar as far as I could make out. Started too easily as well as Jag ardour was a pig sometimes! Sure a Sooty will tell me off :)

    abs relay

They both control the ABS. One is a power relay for the pump the other is for the ECU. Don't remember which is which but while you are under there do both. Oooh Er
  4. The Voltage B+ is one of the relays behind the glove box u/s. Can't remember which one it is. Fairly cheap from dealers.
  5. If it's the one in the housing then use a hacksaw blade to cut inside the bearing face so it makes a 'C' shape. Bend the bush in and it will flick out. Careful not to cut into the bush housing too much. Good luck.
  6. VRT, I have a working VR pump you can have. Not around untill Wednesday though. You can pick it up if you want.
  7. As Crasher says it sounds like problem with ECU. Have you looked at the pins on the multi plug?
  8. A bad earth on another type was the cause of this. Ran ok no load but nothing loaded.
  9. Very dilligent of you mrbeige. I still have some transistors for the 16v C's if needed.
  10. Square metal thing with metal brake pipes leading into it. Glad you could expand on my description so well
  11. It's under the expansion tank attached to the firewall. Got all the brake pipes going into it. Not sure of any changes. My '94 is a Teves Mk4.
  12. Put me credit card away then. Ta
  13. Experts advise please.......'94 VR. Just been checking around the driveshafts and noticed that the nearside flange on the gearbox has some lateral movement. About 1mm or so. Makes a klonk as you pull in and out. Normal tolerance or sommint loose? Thanks.
  14. Loads of stuff on here about this. Unplug it while the engine is running and see what happens. If nothing, it't knacked.
  15. Try a hack saw down one of the flats on the cap and prise it open with a screwdriver. Mind the thread inside!
  16. My VR sump went on without any sealant and doesn't leak. Not sure of torque but I just nipped up the bolts. Quite easy to cross thread them.
  17. Yup, thats it. They would interfere with each other if on opposite way round. Not had to do it yet. OH GOD i've gone and said it..........
  18. New mounting bolts as well. Had to drill mine off!
  19. I have just done exactly that job. Found a spare hole and grommet just under the ABS pump. Comes into the car next to the fan motor. (LH Parcel shelf off)
  20. You could of had a pair of Black Diamond off me plus pads for £40
  21. Power supply relay is your best bet there. Up in front of the glove box
  22. RB, not replaced that one in situ but done similar bush in flywheel centre on another type. There may be a tool for doing this but I just cut a slot along the inside of the bush with a small hacksaw blade and then gently bent the legs of the now 'C"shaped bush together. Same trick as the bushes on the rear suspension arm. To be honest it may not need doing.
  23. The label is probably talking about the bush in the bell housing that the starter spindle locates in to keep it straight. If it is worn the starter cog will be allowed to move away from the flywheel accelerating wear. You can see it in the starter housing with a mirror.
  24. My breather pipe was allways wet even without any splits in the pipe. If you do change it get it from Ford as VW don't sell it separately from the whole inlet pipework.
