It's not necessarily bad advice but please don't start another new thread just to get their attention. If you have sent a PM, they should receive a message saying something like their PM box is full and messages need to be deleted before it can be released. In theory anyway! What is their username?

To be honest, it's probably not really worth much more than you paid. If I offered you £100, you would say no. If I offered you £10k, you would say yes. Somewhere between those points is a price at which no becomes yes (or yes becomes no). That's your asking price. I really can't see why people have problems pricing something, especially when it wasn't bought all that long ago. Hmm that sounds a tad grumpy. Sorry :grin:

Would help if there was some more info to help diagnose. Does it go into any gear? Is the gearstick just slack? Is there any bite from the clutch at all? Does the clutch pedal feel normal?

Sorry I just meant, what else led you to think it was the gearbox? Unless it was knackered when it was parked up, a gearbox, apart from having manky oil, should still work ok. Hence, if there is no drive, the clutch is the first thing I think about. But I would imagine there should be some sort of drive. I never want to see one broken but it's not really worth all that much. But it's definitely worth saving if you have the time and money.

Why gearbox? Sounds more like a clutch issue to me. You expect the buyer's guide to cover cars that have been stood for 5 years and don't move? :scratch: Welcome to the CF :grin:

:lol: No, my usual method concerns rohypnol and several hundred metres of duct tape. I asked him about the LSD and apparently it came with the car as standard. So either he's confusing it with the rudimentary traction control, as you say. Or it does genuinely had an LSD and he thinks it's standard. My guess; the former. Either way, my intention behind posting it up was to give people a heads up about a potentially low mileage VR.

Just Rock cars really. Nowhere to go really so they don't clock up much mileage. Wear and tear is obviously still an issue though - it's the starts and stops that contribute rather than clocking up 100 mile journeys at a time. Imitation crab? What's that? Sort of like a hamster with some extra legs glued on and big pincers?

Is there any evidence on here of chains snapping? I know the chains will stretch with age and potentially jump teeth but even then, are there many cases of this? I'm not making a point here, one way or the other, I just don't recall seeing any threads about either of the above issues. But then again I haven't been looking!

Feck off :lol: It is an odd one though. Seems to be some US spec, if not the whole car. I think the LSD is just a mistake but could be wrong.
