i bought these to replace the mounting on my vr6 but they look different the front mount base seems bigger, i was assured they were for a vr6 tia paul

superb !! excellent to know :-) it was probably because it was a ford , they recommended if the tappets were worn you replaced the car and driver :-)

nowt to stop you doing a lot of stuff mate but is it a good idea ? dunno but i would have thought a worn profile would prematurely wear the followers ? personally i would do the lot , if money allowed, other cars i've done this on(usually fords on a weekly basis , pinto) you could buy a cam kit, which had everything in it

i might be wrong but i didnt think you should change the followers without the cam ?

always get a bit of cam rattle on start up , it is due an oil change tho i always got the same off both mk2 golfs i had hth

is this wire only any good with the factory stereo? sorry i know nothing about it... neil. :) yeah thats right mate , on the oem stereo the volume would increase as the car sped up and vice versa so its only needed for that rad/cass 8)

nowhere near as difficult as it looks mate, just takes a bit of patience i'll pm you some instructions, the good thing is it only takes 4 screws and unplug the dash and you're inside the house to do the rest ps. to just replace the bulb its only the4 screws !

cheers ian, i know the wire you mean, i didnt really want to do the whole dash illumination only the lcds but i suppose to do that i would have to do what oichan did and that was two buy and wire in the lcd bulbs separately cheers paul

the vr6 fools ya, cos its so smooth it doesnt feel as quick as it really is i've found and you can drive it lazy, in 4th and you should be in 3rd and the vr just pulls without complaint, torquey the engine note is addictive! no doubt its caused many engine rebuilds :-)
