  1. Hi,i had this problem also and it turned out to be the ball type thing inside the housing as mentioned above. They tend to wear or get a bit crap in them so i cleaned it to make sure it was making a good connection and hey presto...it worked again.Im sorry i dont have any pics but if you look on the side of the engine where the gear shift goes it is a small black plastic housing(was on mine anyway) it has a spring with a ball connector inside which makes contact when you select reverse thus completing the circuit for the reverse lights. Its easy to take to bits and clean. :D
  2. Hi dragon, that sounds nice.Have you got any photos of them when they were done? Also has anyone used romax in stockton before?Im thinking of taking them there.Ive used SEM in sunderland before but someone told me about romax.
  3. What finish do you guys think would look nice if i get my estorils refurbed?I had a kind of sparkle done on them before.I have seen some that had been painted white and they looked ok aswell.Or maybe a polished finish?Or black. What do you guys think?Any input appreciated.
  4. £100...? Ive had a quote for just over £200 to get them done.I got some done a few years ago and that was well over £100.Do you know somewhere that does them that cheap?I would be grateful for the info as cash aint exactly at a premium at the mo.
  5. And thanks baron. All the info is very much appreciated. Its gonna cost me a couple of hundred quid to get my estorils refurbed as they have seen better days,so i have been looking at buying some second wheels instead to replace them.Theres loads of 5 stud ones around but mine are 4 stud. :?
  6. Yeah thanks bernie. So it seems the wheels from a clio would fit.I have a pic below of the ones for sale. They are quite cheap so may be a bargainJust wasnt sure if they would fit or not. Thanks for the help
  7. Thanks for the replies guys,however...still confused :D Still dont understand what is meant by the bore??? And when you say the et?is that the offset? Oh my i know nothing about wheels ha ha
  8. Hi just after a bit of help please. Can someone explain what size wheels i can get away with that will fit without any modifications.I have been looking at the very good link someone gave me from this forum in another post .....http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html but im not sure of what the offset and bore measurements mean?and can i get away with something that has slighly different offset and bore or do they have to be exactly the same as my standard wheels?Sorry im a bit confused :? For example i know someone who is selling some wheels that were on a clio and they are 15 inch and according to the chart they are the same pcd i.e 4x100 but the offset and bore are slightly different on the chart.Does this make a difference and could someone explain please.Thank you guys in advance...and happy easter to you all!!
  9. Ha ha yeah dubstar thanks :D
  10. Hi bristolbaron, thanks for that link, very very helpful. And as for how much i want to spend...as little as possible ha ha :D and considering the wheels in the photo i put up were £100 including tyres, then i wasnt going to grumble at them for that price. Its gonna cost me a couple of hundred to get my old ones refurbished so thinking about getting some different ones instead.Loads keep bein advertised on the likes of www.gumtree.com its just getting ones that are the right fitment. Thanks again for the link, much appreciated.
  11. Thanks for the info mate.Wasnt sure what pcd they would be...but as for theyre cheap tsws and you wouldnt fit them anyway, well unfortunately in todays climate, beggars cant be choosers when your wheels are knackered and dont have much cash to spend on new ones.Personally i like the look of them. Thanks anyway mate,im now a bit wiser about the size.Do you know if there are any other makes that are the same fitment e.g vauxhall etc? as im on the look out for some decent reasonably (cheap) priced wheels.
  12. HI,i have seen these wheels advertised but trying to get any info from the seller on the pcd of them is like trying to get blood from a stone. All i keep geting told is that they are a ford 4 stud fitment.Any one know if fords are the same as vw i.e 4x100 pcd? or are they all different,or maybe someone has these wheels and knows.Any help is appreciated guys as i am intereste din buying them but dont want to buy the wrong size.Thank you
  13. Ok thanks guys, sounds a bit pricey and not worth the bother.Need to get some new wheels, think ill stick to 4 stud ones instead. Are the standard wheels 4x100 pcd please? :D

    Wheel fitment

Hi,just wondered(maybe a stupid quiestion :( ) but is there any way of fitting 5 stud wheels on my corrado which currently has only 4 studs? If so,is it an expensive option?Would the ones below fit?Thank you
  15. I thought about replacing it with something other than the dealer part.So some stuff from halfrauds should do the trick???Any particular type i need to look for?I cant be wasting anymore fuel on cold starts. My car has a very thirsty addiction to the stuff as it is without bein any worse
  16. Hi,thats what i thought after reading what other people had said.Just a bit worried, cos it must be there for a reason???Oh yeah im near durham mate!
  17. Hi guys, just a bit of final advice please. Is it worth replacing the warm air feed to my airbox?Mine has seen better days and im about to take it off cos im finding it hard to fit it to the back of the airbox as its all frayed. Is there an alternative or is it from the steelers?Or as i have searched on the forum, people are saying you dont really need it at all. Thanks
  18. Hi guys,im having some major problems trying to remove the headlamp retaing screw located in the slam panel.Im wanting to replace my bulbs but i cant get the unit out because i cant remove this screw.Does anyone know of any easier access to it to remove it other than down through the slam panel. Its driving me nuts :mad2: The easiest way to get to the back of the unit i found before is to remove te airbox but my warm air feed pipe from the exhaust to the airbox is decidely dodgy and has seen better days and if i take it of there is no way to get it re attached. Can i buy a new piece of pipe?Is it a dealer part or is there an alternative and is it easy to fit as i think this will be the easiest route if i cant get the screw out.Im running out of knuckles and dont know how much more the screw head can take .AAAARRRGGGHHH  Cheers guys
  19. Hi incase anyone is interested....saw this deal on the web http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=43 Looks like a good deal with free side lights aswell. What do ya trhink?

  21. Cheers guys think il be off to halfords.Just looked at the bulbs in question.....now i dont know which fit i need lol. There are different fits i.e h4 h7 h1 etc etc.Which ones do i need.
  22. Bit confused :? So let me get this right...The ideal solution would be to replace the loom but would it be ok to just use the brighter halfords/phillips bulbs without any alterations using the standard loom i.e a straight bulb swap?
  23. Hi,just wanted to ask about upgrading my headlamp bulbs. When ive read throught the posts on here it seems that people are saying about upgrading the wiring loom etc.Is it possible just to get brighter bulbs and simply replace them and if so,what are the best ones to buy(sorry if this is such a simple problem :( Thanks for the help guys. The winter nights are coming in and i cant drive around with my 1 candle power lights much longer.
  24. Thanks guys for the swift reply.Looks like it will save me a load of cash.(sorry for posting in the wrong section in the first place)Thanks again
  25. Hi guys, does anyone know where i can get a replacement for the "foam" on the underside of the bonnet. The honeycomb type stuff. The only place i can seem to find is the dealers...and they want £81 for it which is a bit steep!!!.Is there anywhere that sells it cheaper or can i get a generic type of stuff and just cut it to shape and glue it on.I wanted to get something close to the original so i can keep the car looking original if possible.I assume its just insulating/sound deadening type stuff.Cheers guys.
