Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
dubweiser replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
Hi mate,do you still sell these kits?My drivers door handle just gave way and is now "floppy" as it were.I can still open it from the inside so it sounds like your kit might fix it.Is it ok to send you pm with a few questions? -
Does anyone know the torque settings please for the pinch bolt and the three bolts on the plate?I cant seem to find them anywhere. Thanks guys
-
Nice one mate, thanks for that.Just phoned the parts place and they have them in stock. Will get them at the weekend and start the job in the next couple of weeks or so.Fingers crossed itl not be too hard to do
-
Ahhh right,so itl be worth getting a new pinch bolt and nut aswell.Cheers

Hi,just a quick question.Does anyone know how the ball joints are held in on a 2litre 16v? Am i right in thinking that they are just bolted on and the capture plate goes on top and 3 bolts hold it in place? From the diagrams that i have seen, this is what i can figure out. The reason i ask is that im gonna replace them soon and want to make sure that i order everything i need regards nuts bolts etc. I just got off the phone to the steelers and the bloke on the phone started telling me i need a new nut that holds the ball joint on.When i questioned him he said the nut that goes on top of the ball joint??? Am i right in thinking that only the vr6 has this? And the 16v just consists of the ball joint, capture ring, and the 3 bolts? I spoke to my local vw parts place after that and he said thats all i need and i have ordered the new ones and they come with the capture plate and 3 bolts. Am i missing anything guys?Ther are no through bolts or anything holding it in position? Thanks in advance.

are the 16v wheels for sale mate if so how much?
-
Thanks for all the help guys.Operation brake change was a success ha ha!! (apart from a couple of stubborn bolts which i soon fettled). Anyway,i just was wondering, maybe could davidworts guide that he gave me a link to,be put in the knowledge base wiki as i found it very useful and im sure others will also. Thanks again guys

Supercharged, stop it,your scaring me now lol
-
Cheers for the info guys, you have saved my bacon!! and a lot of shouting and swearing no doubt lol. Just a quickie,am i right in assuming the calipers wind in clockwise?
-
Massive thanks again davidwort its much appreciated.I just rang my local automotive suppliers place up and they said they were listed as a standard vw rear bearing kit.(does this sound right?cos everything else ive had to buy for the car always seems to be a specialist bit made for the corrado, bloody awkward thing ha ha)
-
Thank you davidwort for that.So it looks like i need new bearings aswell? P.s sorry mods i think i posted this in the wrong section without realising, should of been in drivetrain

Hi guys,i am going to (or was going to) change my rear brake discs and pads this week.I got the new discs and i was assuming they would be held on with a small retaining screw like the front ones, but theres no screw holes in them.So am i right in now thinking that its not going to be as straightforward as taking the old ones off and putting the new ones on? :( How are the rear disc held on if not by a retaining screw and is it a bad job to attempt? I tried searching on here but couldnt seem to find any info :? Thanks for the help guys

Hiya mate, yeah thats one of the ones i was looking at.So did it fit the 2l 16v without any problems then? Still might consider buying one if thats the case. How does it look?
-
Hi erny, yeah a guide for the wiki sounds like a great idea.As you said it,every little helps. So it sounds like the kr has 2 pipes coming from it and the 9a has only one pipe. But one end is oval and the other round. So i need either one withe an oval and round end or else a little bit of persuasion will be needed.

Hi vw domo,if you look on ebay for powerrohr but make sure you check the "worldwide" box instead of just the uk,there are a load on there.Im just not sure as to which one to buy.Let me know if you buy one and you have any success :D Hi erny, how do you mean re rout the other pipe mate?Should there be more than one going into the power rohr or something? And how do i polish and knife edge throttle bodies?Im not sure what this is.Does it make a difference to performance? Thanks guys for the help :D
-
Thanks guys for the info.Looks like if i buy one of these then i might have to do a "swompy" and get the fairy liquid and a hammer out and do a bit of persuasion work :D
-
Ok so i have a bit more info about the blue one in the foto.Apparantley its for a golf mk2 gti 16v and a jetta 16v so do you think this would fit the 9a 2l corrado engine?
-
Now im even more confused ha ha.The ones in the fotos are for sale on ebay in germany, quite cheap aswell but i aint sure if they will fit?
-
Do you know about the 9a?
-
Yeah that was my problemHaving never really had this apart before i wasnt sure what/how many fittings it has for the power rohr to fit.Confused now.Looks like they all might be wrong then
-
HI,im tinkering with the idea of a power rohr for my corrado 9a engine and i have seen three (up to now) advertised all claiming to fit the corrado, howver they are all different so i guess someone is telling porkies ha ha.Anyone know which one if any of these are the right fit?And also is there a way of telling which is the right one for my car?Thank you, theres that many advertised on fleabay etc and the all look different but say they fit!! :confused4:climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf!BrjY+DQB2k~$(KGrHqIH-C!EvP2bEtluBL0JVdQYqw~~_12.jpg[/attachment:3v61o0ad]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf55-7111.jpg[/attachment:3v61o0ad]

Hi guys, just came across this website.Dont know if you know about it already but if you are looking for some wheels,it lets you select your car (corrado) and the size of wheel you want and then shows pics of the car with all the different types of wheels available from them.Nice to see what they look like on the car before you buy. :D http://www.alloywheels.com/
-
OOO on a closer look at the pics zoomed in,it looks like there is some pretty nasty looking marking/kerbing around the edges of some of the wheels :(
-
Hey thanks for the nod baron. They look ok ,shame its so far away for me but if i can get a price for a courier then maybe i could buy them.Do you know if my tyres 195x50x15 fit these wheels?
