  1. Cheers for that mate.Just not sure which bit im supposed to be squirting and waggling.Which bit is the linkage(sorry for stupid question but ive not seen one before and cant find a pic anywhere)Also if i did have to replace it do i have to replace whole valve or is the linkage bit seperate.Arrrrggghhh the joys of motoring....
  2. Just failed my mot beacause of a seized brake bias valve.Ive searched on here and its mentioned quite a few times with people saying it can cause a problem but i cant find any advice on how to fix it.Ive been told it can be freed with plusgas or the like but i dont actually know which bit i should be looking at.Cant find any diagrams of it anywher so im kinda flying blind.Anyone else had this problem and if so is it easy to fix?I think taking it to the garage is going to be pricey so wanna try it myself first.Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  3. Cheers for the swift reply mate. You are right. The screws seem rusted to hell.I think this is why the leak has occured...it seems to be coming out of one of the screw heads or possibly a crack in the plastic sealing ring. Thanks for the diagram. At least i am a bit wiser now on how the housing is made up.Do u mind me asking where u got this diagram? Is it a program u have?Does it have a breakdown of other bits for the corrado aswell cos it looks a very handy thing to have. Cheers again for the advice.Dont have a clue how im gonna get the screws out and replace!!!!!
  4. Hi my 2l 16v has been stinking of fuel under the car and on further inspection it seems to have developed a leak around the fuel pump area.It seems to be coming from one of the "screws" that are arond what seems to be a "ring" that holds the pump in.Am i right to assume that this is just a plastic housing?Do i have to replace the whole pump or can i buy a new housing? Its kind of worrying and im not sure how this assembly is put together. Is it all in one or can i buy bits seperately? Thanks in advance.Ive parked it up at the minute cos it absolutely stinks!!!
  5. I had similar probs with mine.It ran like a bag of spanners and i tried everything.Got it put on a machine to check it and it turned out to be the lambda.Changed it and it was fine.

    Roof trim

Just a quicky...ooo errr.Just a bit of advice please with regards to the roof trim on either side of the car.Mine is looking particularly shabby and i want to replace both strips. How do i go about it(are they glued or clipped or what) and how do the new ones fit?(oh yes i had a price from the stealers of 49 quid each!!)Are they a dealer bit or can i get them cheaper??Cheers guys
  8. hi mate, contrary to popular belief(in my experience anyway),the isv doesnt "buzz"like everyone says it does, and if it doesnt it dont mean its paggered.Mine never has and i thought it was faulty but it aint. Also,i didnt realise vag com was able to diagnose such things as this for this engine, only basic stuff????
  9. Vag com was mentioned in this thread but i wasnt aware that the vag com could be used with this engine??Any ways i had the same type of problems with my 2l 16v and it went on for ages and after replacing everything i thought possible it turned out to be the lambda that was knackered.Hope this helps mate.
  10. the lambda probe is on the exhaust mate but it can be an absolute ba****d to get out if its been in there for a while but it gives all the symptoms u have said if its paggered.Using too much fuel, popping of the exhaust, crap mpg, hesitation etc.Get it checked if u can mate with a diagnostic machine, its the only true way to tell if its this. The fault will show up and u can get it repaired.Ru in germany mate?whereabouts?
  11. Well bollox to u all ha ha i have a scorpion system on mine and have had it on for 6 year and it has a dtm tailpipe and i think it looks fine...oh and it fits fine, ive never had a problem with knocking or ill fitting. So stick that up ya tailpipes and smoke it lol
  12. Check the lambda probe mate.I had the same trouble with mine and replaced all the usual stuff to no avail and discovered it was the lambda probe.

    blitzchip??

Ive just been looking on ebay and saw a Blitzchip advertised for the 2l 16v corrado.Does anyone have any experience of these chips or know if they are any good or not.It says someting about motronic fuel sysytem but i thought they were k jetronic on these cars.I think mine is anyway.Any info would be appreciated.
  14. Ive changed the front pads on my car before and it was a fairly straightforward job.But i now need to change the rears and just wondered if its basically the same job as the fronts or do i need a special tool.Im sure i read somewhere about a"wind in tool" for the calipers or will a trusty g clamp do the trick.Cheers

  17. Well i went to croft yesterday for the track day and was overwhelmed to see all of the corrados there. There must have been at least.....well....errr...actually there was only me there!!!.Oh and someone who turned up later in the day and parked their LHD c out of the way somewhere.Thought there might have been at least a bit of show from u corrado boys, especially the ones that said it was nearby when the post was first put up about it and seemed so enthusiastic about going. What happened guys? Why did no one turn up?Its the first vw meeting ive been to and if evryone shows as much interest as this then it doesnt really bode well for other events.Nevermind....at least it kept me exclusive as i was the only one there ha ha
  18. have u changed the fuel filter?try that if u havent already done it.
  19. im thinking of buying a power rohr....just wondered if anyone has had any experience with these and if so what did u think.Waste of money or not?Cheers guys
  20. hi coley, sounds like mine did and it was the lambda.one sure fire way to find out....stick it on a diagnostic machine but not a vagcom.Let me know if u need help mate,i know someone that can check it for u and it wont cost too much.Believe me,its worth getin it checked because u will drive yourself round the bend otherwise. It only takes a couple of minutes and is worth knowing whatd wrong.Pm me if u need help
  21. Sorry if this has been asked before but i know that someone put a post up quoting from vw what the normal water and oil temps should be for the 2litre but ive searched and cant find it.(i saw it ages ago but cant find it again).Does anyone know what these should be please? The reason i ask is that since changing my coolant recently,my car seems to be running cooler and taking longer to warm up than before.Should i be worried or is it normal........maybe the new coolant is working more efficiently than the old stuff that was in.oh yeah i used g12.Cheers
  22. Also i just thought on...i dont htimk a vagcom is any good to diagnose stuff on the 2litre 16v.I think it only can read certain stuff on this engine compared with other models(could anyone verify this for me please???).The machine i got used on mine wasnt a vagcom so the fault showed up straight away.
  23. yeah mate cud be the lambda.I had no end of probs with my car running like crap, misfiring, not revving properly, drinking fuel etc and after an age of replacing plugs, leads, dizzy cap, fuel filter etc i got it plugged into a machine and it came up straight away with the lambda being at fault.Got it replced and seems to run ok now.But get it checked first cos it could be a costly purchase if its not that.
