Ok Ive done a search but cant find the answer to this, How long after a run should the aux water pump and cooling fan stay running for ? Does it depend on the engine temp ? I would have thought that to be the case but even after a very short journey with the temp not going over 70 they still seem to run for a long time ? The battery and alternator are only about 5 months old and twice lately my batterys been flat, The batterys getting charge and holds charge (when disconected) and am wondering if the pump and fan are staying on all the time... thanks for any help.

The screen does steam up, I'll inspect tomorrow maybe bypass it anyway put up with the cold run to work get the floor dry(ish) and see if it stops the loss of coolant. Cheers for all the help kev.

Its not really smelly or sticky (just been out to check and theres a puddle there now :( ) I filled the coolant up on wedensday and the light came on today... Can you see the pipes going onto the matrix (from in the car) ? A month of sundays knowing me :), I hate doing jobs like that theres alway lots of those "spare" screws, washers, nuts etc, left over when its done. cheers for the help.

Ok I know theres loads of these at the moment but i've done a search and cant find the same problem i have, I think the heater matrix is leaking as my pasanger floor is soaked and i've checked door seals etc.. and am losing lots of coolant (needs filled up like every 2 days) and theres no smoke from engine, Thing is theres still heat coming from it is this possible? Is it right I can bypass the heater by joining the pipes going to the matrix (as a tempory measure) ? Could it be a split/loose pipe on the matrix causing the leak ? Any help please as I'd rather freeze then have to remove the dash to fit a new one  cheers.

Ooh nigtmare, gutted for you mate. How bad are the wheels ? cos sounds alarming have recently started refurbing them, they've got mine now and do a cracking job at a good price too. could be worth a try. (advert over :) ) -
Small self tappers into the headlight surronds.. and I keep removing it for a while every few months ;)
-
I took mine off drilled through it and put a small bolt through with a washer on the end to keep it in place. Was just a tempory measure at the time (6 month ago!) ;) iirc the part number is stamped on the underside.

I fitted a ecp one to mine a few months back and it seems fine £110 and a bit awkward to fit but I would'nt like to pay the labour charge at a garage to have it done.
-
I just have two very small self tappers into the light surrounds.
