Could have fallen in through the sparkplug hole while Ian was rebuilding the engine ?? Even at TDC there should be just enough room for the bolt to sit on top of the piston.
-
Nooooooooo - don't do it !! A few cold winters mornings will eventually cause some major wear on your engine 15w50 is way too thick for Corrado's (or any other OHC engine) in this country. Don't confuse road cars with race cars. Race cars can run thicker oil as they don't have to worry about starting & running in sub-zero temperatures.

Cos a standard G60 clutch won't last very long in a tuned G60 !!

"Pimps & Hoes" party weekend - Saturday night on the campsite is usually the best part of the VW action weekend

Accidents do happen  -
Mercedes say the same thing - don't use it !! Following on from that - why would anybody ever want to use it ??

Collaring them is very rewarding - as I found out last year when my neighbour restained on of the theives who stole my Scirocco. I experienced an immense feeling of satisfaction when I was kicking this guy in the face while my neighbour was making this guy's ribbs hurt !! The police actually (unofficially) approved of our actions too  -
Not sure but Mercedes reccommend 10w40 semi synth in their V280 (VW VR6 engine)
-
Stuck some W5DPO plugs in mine at the weekend - wow what a difference. Not too much change low in the rev range but 4k upwards it pulls much better !!
-
Stick a VR6 Corrado one in m8 - same external dimensions, heavier duty & bolts straight on 8)
-
Replace the header tank cap - cheap as chips........lol Next - run your engine until it's hot - very hot. Water leaks are far easier to see when the engine is hot & the cooling system fully pressurised. Look for obvious leaks & also look for coolant residue - a sure sign of leakage.

Strangely enough - that's exactly what I'd be doing too :rambo: -
I went to Edition 38 instead - mine was the only Corrado at the VW action beach party last year !!

jedi-knight83, If your engine is too noisy/rattly running on Synta Silver - you have some other engine issues/wear which will need looking at. Cure the cause & not the symptoms
-
Strangely enough - that's exactly what I use 8) Mann filters have been, and still are OE for many vehicle manufacturers - no problems with quality at all.
-
What a nasty looking bonnet :pukeright:

64520A are for the Corrado 16v & NOT for a G60 - the website (in this instance) is correct. G60 front pads are the same as VR6 ones.

There's a good DIY section to work your way through here - http://www.snstuning.com Does the engine get progressively worse as the revs increase ?? As Jim says, with the blue temp sensor disconected the engine should still idle & not cut out. If it does cut out then you still have a timing problem - what you will need to find is the cause. Connecting the blue temp sender enables the ECU to make corrective timing adjustments based on various signals taken from different sender units on the engine. Favourite to fail is the ECU vacuum pipe which connects to the back of the throttle body. This MUST measure exactly 1m in length. Worth replacing - costs around £6 from the stealer & will eliminate this as a cause.

Erm - u sure ?? All Quantum oils are currently made by Shell, although VAG have occasionally used Esso in the past. Unless they've changed suppliers in the last few months ??
-
  Far better, as Kev says, to remove the head & do a proper rebuild. Should be good for another 100k then 8)
-
You can just change the bulbs in the back of the clocks Blue_Joe has a blue LCD display !!
-
Would have been picked up by the knock sensor & timing retarded accordingly
-
Sorry to hear your predicament Paul, hope you get it sorted m8
