I'd def advise you to do pass plus. A lot of insurance companies give you an extra years NCB. It isnt that much to do either at something like £140ish iirc. I got on my own insurance at 17 with a 1.1 mk1 golf, only cost about £250 and the insurance was £1100. Its just one of those things but it does get cheaper!

When I get a VR6 - If I had 1k to mod - where to start

So do rear beam bushes make that much of a difference then? How much are we talking about for these? -
Good man, thanks for that, thought it may only be through more sort of specialist type of places.

Recently fitted coilovers but dont have any wax oil/oyl? does anyone know where to buy it from? Thanks!

I've just bought a mini dehumidifer for my brothers punto, cost about £20 inc postage. My bro's car was terrible for misting up but the dehumidifier has been in there for about 3-4 days nad has done the trick. Just leave it in there as its very incospicuos as its about the size of an A5 piece of paper. Just type in mini dehumidifier.

All the other wheels are now in line and its just this one that i would like to get sorted as it pulls to the left a little. How involved is shimming the stub axles? Thanks

Recently got my suspension fitted on my car and went to Elite yesterday to get the car properly set up. 3 corners are now in the acceptable range but the drivers rear side wheel is still out; the camber is -1.19 when it should be between -1.40 and -1.20 the toe is also out at .48 when the range is .35 to -.15. They have done what is in their ability to do but i wonder if any one can suggest anything to get the settings in the right range? Any suggestions will be greatly accepted!

Looks gorgeous from the outside, cant say i'm a big fan of that interior though, looks like they have saved the pennies or cents there.
-
After a bit of saving i could poss stretch to a 350z, they are so nice but then i think about it a corrado is quite similar speed wise.

http://www.dtmmotorsport.co.uk also stock RH alloys

Cheers chaps, would VAG-COM be able to shine some light on the problem maybe? I have a feeling it maybe gearbox related, but thought maybe someone might have had a similar experience. The car doesnt feel any different to drive its just a worrying sound, i'll get it checked out but wanted a few opinions before hand.

Hi guys, Hopefully someone can suggest something... Since the cold has really kicked in i've noticed that when i'm slowing down and the revs drop down to between 1000 and 1500 rpm there is a kind of grinding sound? It doesnt happen when accelerating and it doesnt occur when you put it in neutral. Any suggestions would be apprecaited so i can investigate further. I expect the problem to be expensive seeing as i have jsut paid out for suspension and thats the way things usually go! :( Cheers

Costs can vary, i have had my VR just over a year now and it hasnt been to bad finance wise. Had to replace a few bits like fuel pump, leads, brake pads, spark plugs but so far (touch wood) nothing to bank balance denting. It all depends on the actual car you buy and if it is in good nick to start with. u WILL need to get an uprated loom and lupo wipers tho  cant recomend them highly enough. Get a VR tho i still have a smile on my face when i give it some a year later.

Your in the same sort of boat as myself, tho my girlfriends place is a 44 mile round trip so it does get to be warmed up then. But i like yourself only have a short journey to and from work. -
Yeah the little copper bit on the inside could be a bit bent as mine was which affected connection.

I saw an SLR in London the other week, was just starering at it for as long as it was at the lights, pulled away and going about 20mph had a lovely little burble sound
-
Ah nice + they are local to you, i was looking at these, had a keen eye and was starting to think why isnt anyone bidding on these with half an hour left? Then saw the sold bit at the moment. Good luck to you tho buddy, get em at a good price?

I'll keep looking then :study:

Hi I read on here a while ago a guide as to how to change a VR6 fuel pump, i've used the search tool but cant find it now, anyone know where about it is on the forum please?
-
Also dont have to much fuel in there as it 'goes off'
-
Kev you probably know it, but your the man! Cheers for the info.

Ok great a couple of things to check tonight. Andy - I dont know anyone round my way with VAG-COM, might have to invest in it for future use.The car runs fine once it has started. Kev - If there were no fuel or spark it simply wouldnt start would it? Or could it as its on its last legs? Cheers for your help though guys, helps to have help to at least narrow down the problem.

Hi ya i'm after a bit of help please. My 95 VR6 is resisting starting at the moment and i'm not sure why? I turn it on and the charge seems to be all right as it turns over as normal but it doesnt kick in as quick as it has done in the past, it can take a couple of goes and turning the key for about 5-6 seconds. I changed the battery in November, the leads in february and the spark plugs in May. I've gone through the old posts to see if there have been any similar problems and i'm thinking it maybe the crank sensor? I'm not the most mechanical minded person so i could do with a few suggestions. Thank you for your help!

I think the Koni/H&R are something like £570 fitted iirc coz someone got theres done at stealth a few months ago.

Yeah might just bide my time and wait for a group buy to start up. Not in a rush really but would like to get some suspension ready for the shows next year as much as anything.
