Whirring noise coming from fan control module (vr6)
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
At least I am not alone! Yeah my pump is new as well, I cant think whats causing it. Shame its a sealed unit, makes it harder to diagnose. Keep me updated if you find the cure! I am going for the 'oh, its fixed itself' option at the moment as I have plenty of other things to look at! Cheers -
Not sure about the first bit but the second one, no the corrado dash is only for the corrado, its not the same as other VW cars.

Well its coming off anyway for other things to get done. :-P Has anyone got a pic of how the pressure sender should look? Preferably attached to the car so i can match it up. -

Strange, if it worked for crazymarcel I wonder why it does not work anymore. How could I tell if I have the right oil pressure sender? The dash is coming off soon so I will see if the connections on the back are ok. Just another problem for me to look at! -

Whirring noise coming from fan control module (vr6)
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Engine Bay
It does sound like a clicking relay, only like its clicking like crazy when it gets hot its almost constant. When its cold it goes every 20-30 seconds. The aux water pump was replaced not long ago. -
I noticed when putting my vr6 back together at the weekend I noticed that there was a pipe near the back of the engine that wasnt connected to anything. It goes along the top of the engine (near the scuttle) from the drivers side to the passenger. Its push clipped in along near the HT leads. Its not connected to anything and I was wondering if it should? Is it a breather pipe? The engine appears to be running fine. Any ideas? thanks

Whirring noise coming from fan control module (vr6)

Thanks. Just to confirm we are talking about the same bit, I mean the bit in front of the expansion bottle in the engine bay. I has two big connectors going into it. Cheers -
Hi So I got the car started finally and noticed a strange noise coming from around the fan control module. Its kinda like a clicking/whirring noise that goes every 10-20 seconds, but does sometimes go for longer. I also get it when I turn the ingition key on one click. I presume its something to do with the aux water pump? I just replaced the rad/thermostat and all sensors so I hope its nothing to do with them. Could it be a dry joint somewhere (the cars been stood for about 2 months!) that I could pull something apart and give it a blast of wd40? One other question. I have a loose black rubber pipe going along the top of the engine bay. Is this a breather pipe?? Where is the breather pipe on a vr6/ Thanks

Charger is easiest, Turbo is cutting edge. Look at the forced induction thread in engine bay section. All the best mate, wish I had the cash to FI my vr6 -
Very simple question about the slam panel on a VR
Son of a Beesting replied to Son of a Beesting's topic in Exterior
Do you mean the screws that screw the headlight in? I havent got round to them yet. By the screws that go through the slam panel into the chassis legs do you mean the ones directly under the headlight? Thanks for your help. -

afternoon bump -
My mate is a mechanic and has trade insurance, I think it worked out cheaper than regular insurance as well for his car. I should be seeing him this weekend and if I remember I will ask him.

i would say just give them a tighten. Maybe some bolts are missing?
-
Scum. I hope you get them back. If the person that stole them is reading this you are a toe rag and I hope you get whats coming to you. Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction corozin

Day break it kinda liek groundhog day. A cop gets the blame for a murder and he keeps reliving the same day until he finds the killer. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801425/ EDIT: I just found out its got cancelled so maybe it sucked! Prison Break rules though

Day break also looks good!

Ok so I took the front of my car weeks ago to change a load of parts. I am finally getting it back together now and I just wondered if anyone could confirm something for me. Do three screws go back in the slam panel under the headlight? 2 screws go in fine on the outer but the middle one looks like it needs a nut to go behind it. Which brings me to my next question. I have 2 nuts (no jokes) do these go here or do they go somewhere else. Does anyone know exactly how many screws attach the slam panel to the car. If people think this question is too stupid a pic from ETKA showing how the slam panel attaches will be fine thanks Do I get an award for the stupidist question  Cheers
