Lol I got bloody close following my Dad doing this. I was driving my sisters car at the time. Slammed on the brakes and just stopped. Would have been a good way to anoy the whole family if I had hit him lol. :) Its easily done though you look they start moving and you the start looking at the gap and see if you can make it. to find they have stopped for no reason when the gap was big enough for me awsel. We live and learn I guess

I have had this issue before on my VR. I fixed it a few years back but up untill resently only been back on number 4 and that stopped the other day. Its the connector in the switch itself not making contact. Remove the knobs from the controls and then remove the suround. On the actual heater control there is a metal contact that is in the center of the switch that rotates as you turn it. If you turn the heater to off position you can remove this its just held in with a raised secion so push this down and you can get it out. Its just bend out of shape and does not make a contact to the metal bit that surounds the swith. Just needs bending slightly so it makes a better contact. Took me all of 5 mins when I got home from work. Its somthing I should have done for ages but never got round to it untill now when I need it. Mine is still not right as number 1 don't work still but 2 3 4 all work fine so that will do me untill it warms up again. Hope this is of some help. I have tried to describe it best I can but it prob makes no sences to anyone but me

I am supprised being a Cat D should affect the sale. I know everyone liek a perfect car but when they are the age of ours then some of them are going to have had this happen. Cat D is minor danage and does not require a VIC test just another MOT and its back on the road so it cannot be major damage. I wouldn't care about it being Cat D as long as the car is straight and has been properly repaired. My dad has purchased serveral Written off cars with minor damage and used them for years. Then again Milage and service records don't interest me on cars this old. Some Idiot Hit my car in the street a couple of years back and a new wing headlight and repair to bumper and bonnet must have nearly put mine into the written off section. As its not a minter but was all I could afford when I brought it. I guess its just preferance of the buyer but a nice repaired well looked after car is better than a Never damaged but never looked after example. Good luck with the sale anyway. There will be someone willing to look at the car for what it is now not the history :)

Hi, My VR worst ever trip 17 mpg over 15 miles (late for work) used to get about 27.6 mpg this is a mix of flat out at times and not so others but always a little spirited now get 32.2 now I have calmed down a little plus petrol prices make me thing about my lead foot. best ever jorney 39mpg but moterways most of the jorney. Not had many probs with mine and its a hiigh miler at 167000 but she still goes when I want her to and sounds great. No other car in my bugdet even comes close on sound. Reliability owned it for 4 years. had 1 fuel pump go £25 for second hand all the cooling system needed to be done but did it as it needed to be done not in one go, Most expensive was rad at £110ish most other parts quite cheep between £10 and £40 as its only plastics in the engine bay. I also had the syspension done last year. that is all I have spent in 4 years on a 16 year old car which I think is good. know pleanty of people run up bigger bills on more modern cars and they don't have the fun driving like I do as they own boring normal stuff. whatever you decide on in the end do some research and drive a few before buying as some corrado's will not give you much trouble but there are utter dogs out there you should avoid.

replacement is 36.50 plus Vat from GSF. Did mine this weekend. The guide to do it is on the Wiki. http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... eplacement Takes 3 hours allegedly but I had to remove the whole Dash so l took longer.

The heater matrix is the only thing that carries water inside your car. It's connectors are in the engine bay and go through the bulkhead to the heater unit. Would deff think that this is the problem. Mine started with just a little misting up, as I drove it for a few weeks like this ending up with soaked carpets and in the end it was like a Kettle blowing up my screen as there was that much steam escaping. Right My Vr6 will not start. Ignition lights come on but the starter does not turn over the engine. Also ABS light stays on constantly and my Cd player has stopped working. Thinking might just be a fuse any Idea which or poss a relay. Best mention I have had the entire dash out to do the heater Matrix. car did start with most of the dash in and was listening to Cd's only when I finnished fitting the lower panals and glovebox did I notice no CD playing and then a non starter. has someone got a idea where to look first fuse or relays or somewhere else. Cheers Paul

I am the only one who thinks the Corrado looks stupid.......

I agree with AndyvRS I am a big kid and I love the spoiler on my car. I have had my car for over a year now and still watch it go up and down whenever I can. Plus it is fun playing with it at traffic lights to see what other people think of it. I don't think it matters if it makes a difference arodynamicly at all. I just love my C the way it is......   -
Its a VR6..... It is the O ring that I want I think... Dealer looked up on his computer from my engine number and it didn't even list the right rad. Listed one with a top hose fitted into the rad instead the 90 degree bend seperate. But my O ring is square in share. The edges I mean it is round in shape. But both replacements I have been given so far are oval.

I know its a long shot. I have changed my rad earlier due to leaking water but still hvae a leak where the top hose bend bit fits into the rad. I got my radiator from GSF and they gave me a ring to seal it but this was bigger than mine plus more rounded and its flat. Tried this but still got a leak. So whent to a stealer and ordered one. It arrived today and although it looks about the right size is more rounded not flat like mineand guess what I still have a leak. Does anyone have the correct number to order one of these as I am fed up with people giving me the wrong thing.... :(

Hurray I have working windows :D (for now) It apeared that the passanger side was just the contacts in the control unit where bad after cleaning plus cleaning the drivers side switch as it didn't alwasy make it work. The drivers side plus the reason for blowing fuses. I removed the doorcard and to my horror my dynomat on the drivers door had started to peel off in the hot sun and jammed the electric window in its top position. Peeled back the dynomat and restuck and all now apears to work. :D Well untill the sunroof brakes as thats about the only thing off the brakes all the time I ain't had. :(

I tell i lie it does keep blowing the fuse. I have taken apart the windows controll unit and some of the relays are blackned on the contacts. I tried cleaning them but when i reconect the power the switch makes the unit click 3 or 4 times but the windows do not work then the fuse blowes again. I take it i need a new control unit if so what else can i rob one out of as it cannot be a rado only part. Cheers Paul

Help! My elctric windows have stopped working. First the passanger stopped about 3 weeks ago but the drivers still worked untill today I locked my car with the windows and sunroof open and they closed as usual but now it will not open. Sunroof still works and so does central locking. Does that rule out the fuse as they are on the same one. Where is the window control unit I used to hear it click when pressing the buttons but couldn't hear today. Does this unit also do the cental locking. I need some help before I melt. Cheers Paul

Yes you need the keyfob for the stereo to get it to work again. They have a code stored in them so its like entering a code but you don't know it. I have a kenwood kc901 aswel but i am sure that each one has a different code. If not i can lend you mine but i do not think it will be any use. Robbo

Hi, I feel stupid askin this but how have people got there power from the battery to their amp. There appears to be nowhere to go through the bulkhead with the v6 takin up most of the space and the aircon takin the rest. Is it possible to go under the car or is that a daft idear. I thought it would be easy since there was left hand cars thought just a grompt out over by the battery but there is nowhere. Cheers for the advice. Robbo

I think its a great game well woth getting. I am going to use the corrado for as long as possable(but I guess we will all do that) as for the demo I played that it was on a disc months ago and in my opinion was crap. The full game has better handling than the demo. I will be gettin the game when released as I can play online but I have 2 xboxes

I have very little self controll over money :D and oftern buy things on spur of the moment. when will you be looking to close this as the pods you put on a 2 week buy have i got time to save. If only you had left it for a month or so I would def be willing as it is I will have to see, :? -

Hello again, After narrowing down to my fuel pump being at fault I have tried removing it. I have refered to post Fitting fuel pump I have removed the locking ring and moved the cap out the way but i cannot remove the pump. I have tried twisting it both way but it will not budge. is there anything else I need to do. Also does it unlock anticlockwise as i would have thought. Should I drain the tank as currently there is 3/4 in there making it very cold on the hand this time of year. Cheers Robbo

I shorted across the relay between the 2 points with wire so i had a constant 12V feed to the fuel pump which I mesured at the electrical connector on the pump. But still nothing, no petrol comming out the fuel lines ad they were disconected and could not hear the pump running.

Yes checked all fuses and rear spoiler does work. Is it run from the same fuse as the rear spoiler.

My vr6 broke down this mornin. :( :( :( I have been advised that it is the fuel pump. (see my wanted ad if you have one) But can I test the one in my car. The car just stalled this morning as I was driving it at 60mph engine turns over but will not start. I would have thought that I would have noticed it juddering before it cut out but it was like a had just turned off the ignition. I have been told that this is because of the system is pressurised so if the pump stops it will cut out straight away. Is this true? I have removed the inspection plate in the boot and tested the pump for power. It only gives a reading when the engine is cranked not with just the ignition switched on. So i removed relay 12 and shorted across the the power to the fuel pump to see if this made a difference but still nothing cannot hear pump. I then removed the fuel lines from the inlet monifold to see if any petrol was comming out but nothing.I tried it with both shorted relay and relay put back in a cranking the engine. Is there anything else i should try before getting a new one. Also does anyone know what else the pump was fitted to incase I can find one from a brakers. Cheers Robbo
