This is why I keep thinking we should have nothing but agreed value insurance - it is soooo unfair to see things like this. What annoys me about insurance 'book values' is that they are a LOT lower than what you can go and buy a clean car for. Hope you sort something. Really feel for you! :(

yeah - I want to know what I should be looking for too!! My windows clunk when I open them and they hit the bottom of the door anyone know what clip/bit needs sticking on and what it looks like??

haha! nice one - well, let me know if you ever need me to pick anything up from Steves for you! I got really depressed by the guy saying that - I only needed a few minor dings pulled, which I had pulled with NO PROBLEM at all by Axi-dent who came out to me. :) But frankly - yes - that is absolutely typical response of a 'bodyshop' in our area. This VW repair centre that quoted me £3k really knew their VW's though (cough!) he said that his Passat VR6 Estate was the FASTEST VW made - "it is like 200 horsepower he insisted" (I kept quiet!) -
I got Gavin's loom too - SUPERB! Honestly - the neatest and perfectly functioning loom you could want! GO FOR IT!! :) Night driving has become thoroughly enjoyable!

How fast have you had out of your standard VR?
Nick_Micouris replied to VRev6's topic in General Car Chat
I have had mine (in the mane of research) to what the needle seemed to claim was 151 so I guess the 146 is accurate. Mine is completely standard. -
we know what you drive and what you do!but how old are you??

Hi mate it's my Chrysler - ROFL -
I am sure I have read somewhere but cant find the info, that there is a way to stop the electric windows from 'clunking' when they reach the bottom of the door. Anyone know what to do? I have the door cards off at the mo in preparation for new speakers and so can have a go at sorting them. It's not really a problem but if they should be silent then I will make them silent again!

YESSSSS! GET THE VR MY SON! HAVE 3!! -
have you checked that the plenum chamber isn't blocked? My MK2 was once blocked there meaning that instead of water draining down the inside of the wings it was coming into the car.... may be worth a browse?

vr6corrado's VR6 - replacement has arrived.

gorgeous! I would keep it standard myself....  -
do you fail for cracked fog lenses then?

If I can give my 2 pence it was worth it for all the Tech Support that I got from Chris Gaskell. That guy is AMAZING - really knows his C stuff, any problem I had he helped me solve! So I will second that about the Teech Support DEFINITELY! Just a shame the parts discount no longer applies :(
-
Same happened to me! So I reverted to the normal valve caps. Was definitely a kid with a bike, 2 were nicked. The funniest thing was that I remember some kids asking me where I got them from, next morning, GONE! Scum!

!VWCCGB DO NOT qualify for vwpartsclub!
Nick_Micouris replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
Funny you say this Roddy - I was told this too when I called the customer service number. Have gotten pally with my dealer and they just do it. They made out to me like they have never given these discounts at any dealer!! I only raised the question when I was turned down once at a Dealers in Chichester! -
hmmmm - cheers for that Brian!!! lol I searched Google and found no-one selling em!! All the dealers I asked just told me they were obsolete. Anyway - still waiting for mine from the US, they were miles cheaper but I am counting (hoping) that customs don't tax me!! :?

Anyone got a C with a factory fitted Corrado oil and volt gauge. Not the plate with the hole for the 2 aftermarket guages, but the official and seemingly rare guage with one glass cover and the Corrado logo (as on the rev counter)? I noticed it still listed on Etka but it is a scary £109.17 PLUS I would need to change the dash loom on my C, £131. Not gonna do it but would be nice. Just curious if anyone on here has an official factory fitted one?
