Hi mate Call VW customer services for free on 0800 711811 - tell them the info on the car and they will tell you when VW last serviced it and at what mileage. Hope this helps Nick

IMHO the 2.0 16v is better - not as standard maybe but many of the 2.0's can be decatted and the 2.0 is tuneable to a VERY respectable standard. Plus you get the exterior and interior facelift on the late 2.0's

Definitely pull out the stops and stretch for the N plate. Sounds a REAL gem! No doubt!

I remember cleaning between my wheel and the column with a cotton earbud once and I ended up bending this copper blade slightly so the conact was not being made and the horn only worked when in certain positions. Bent it back with some tweezers and sorted it!

I LOVE the Metallic black, but then I am biased! lol

Did anyone find out any more about this, mine is hissing and I am definiteley smelling fuel vapours every time I start from cold! Related? :?

I got a stupidly good quote from Elephant - definitely give them a go as they beat the others by MILES :)

Does anyone have the problem on their C dash where the rotary controls aren't properly illuminated all the way to the outside dials?? Mine is only light on the centre one (really bright) and is very faint to the point of non-existence on the outer dials. Any way of remedying this? I have tried installing a double wattage bulb but no difference. :(

I got mine from a chap that makes the Trimsport loom cost £50 del'd - pm me if you want his contact details. SUCH a super job on the loom. Fitting it tonight. I know what you mean about Ebay - started really getting to me!!

Mine should be arriving in the post tomorrow :) Can't wait - tired of having to deal with the candle effect!

Guys is there any way of finding out how many of each colour they imported? -
Hi guys Can anyone in NE London recommend a good bodyshop. I just went to one in Woodford and the guy there tried to convince me that I really may as well get a respray!! He quoted £3k and my jaw hit the floor! Anyone had a respray lately and is it a good idea? Also surely that price is WAY over inflated? Thanks Nick

Wow! And that's standard? Cool. So do the number plate bulbs still feature above? Nick

Found this link but can't seem to see how much it is...... http://www.headlightswholesale.com/volk ... light.html

Didn't know they did have the third light. Does anyone have a pic of it??
-
I let this bother me a while back when I compared it to the Golf which is pretty perfect. I had a new lambda probe, cleaned the ISV changed the plugs, did the ECU reset and it's no different. From what I have found it is perfectly normal for the Corrado VR6 to behave like this. Learn to love it - I have accepted it as a great characteristic of a beast of an engine! :D
-
That's right - I had the same prob as you and I got them all from the stealer for pence. They even ordered in the black screw caps from the door cards!
-
Hi Just had to change this WHOLE part myself. Got it with the Corrado club discount and bougt it for £56 all in from the stealer. It is an oil breather and mine was leaking oil and hissing. Apparently with the hose split there was no backpressure on the sump. Nick

Hi Have been driving the beast pretty hard lately and doing a few traffic light sprints and have noticed that I have been getting, on some occasions, considerable knocking (amplified vibration) through the accelerator pedal. I do also get some vibration through the steering wheel when driving regularly at about 60mph. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Nick

http://www.santa.demon.co.uk/Corrado/Ad.txt FOUND THIS INFO ON THE mistery grille - could be something to do with this? VW ad printed in 1990 (Produced 1989) In the event the peace and quiet gets to you, there's always the premium Heidelberg sound system with six speakers. In fact, Corrado has everything from a trip computer, air conditioning, height-adjustable steering column, cruise control, power windows, door locks and mirrors, to 15" alloy wheels and fog lamps. All standard.

Hi I bipassed the burnt out element and the seat is working fine and safely! The element has lost it's protective coating and was just burning the foam! Go for it - I a sure you will be fine. I can email you a pic of the burnt element if you like? Nick :)
-
I think it kind of has to be done imho - my C has problems with the elements on the drivers side. One element had literally started burning through and if it wasn't for the leather there could have been fire. I tried resoldering the wires onto the burnt element and this worked fine for about 6 months but has no burnt out. I am going to try and bypass that one element and see if at least 3/4 bottom elements work. If not I will reluctantly buy a set of new lower pads. Try and do this yourself as it is more fiddly than anything else and it could prove to be really costly. It is more likely to be the bottom elements that are hooped. Open up the back of the bottom seat by pulling down the fabric or leather where it ius tucked in on the back underside and inspect in the lower seat rest for any signs of blackening or burning.

I am not sure exactly what they did - the Installer (Sexton's in Wandsworth) told me after heaps of discussion that there is an inhibitor wire that runs from the ignition to stop you locking yourself in. We noticed that the alarm was clicking to lock the doors but something was stopping it. On cutting the wire the car was no longer preventing the alarm and both doors lock on ignition and unlock on turning off. Also I can now open and close the doors with the ignition on - which I couldn't do before. I am not sure which wire he cut but if this helps I found a portion of cut wire in the footwell of the drivers side and believe this is the only one he cut. It is dark green with a brown line. Not positive this is the right one though. Try calling Sextons (Wandsworth branch) 020 8877 1148. Phil was the name of the guy that snipped the wire. http://www.sextons.co.uk/contact/londonmap.php3 Toad themselves told me it could not be done but I was stubborn thinking if it's to do with electronics then, yes it can!
