I've just found a small water leak in the engine bay - I had alook and found it coming from a small pump to the right of the engine (where the plug leads come up). I moved the pipe that it was coming from and found it cam away from a small pump. I've taken the pump out and I'm about to order a new part, but I want to make sure I know what it is first. There is a Bosch part number - PAA 12V 0392 020 054 (I think the last number is 4 - it's a bit worn, so it could be a 1) It had 2 pipes at the bottom, connecting to a plastic cap, and a plug on the top Cheers Adam

Cheers Guy's. It's put my mind at ease to know I may not have to sell it, and I've found a few nice recaro seats for Junior - just need to find one in leather now!

I hope some one here can help - Has anyone managed to cope with a new baby and all the parafinalia that it brings with it (Prams, safety seats, baggage etc..) and still been able to get everything into thier corrado. I'm after some advice on a decent baby seat that will fit into the back of my VR6. It has the large central bolster cushion. There is also not a great deal of room in the boot, and I am hoping that someone out there has been able to get all the kids stuff in the car and aleviate my fears of having to sell it and buy a Passat W8!!

Here's a pic of my Storm with my mates 16v. I'm trying to keep the look as stock as VW intended, but the engine has had a "few" mods.

The starter motor on my VR6 broke, and after bump starting it, I drove it to a local garage to have it replaced. Unfortunatly the bloke disconnected the battery and now it turns over but wont fire up. He says he has checked the fuel pump and there is no power to it, but the fuses seem to be ok. It isn't the immoboliser as it wouldn't turn over if this was at fault. The garage is a bit at a loss and doesnt really know where to go from here. Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be? Cheers Adam

Depending on how the car gets driven, my Storm will give me anything between 18 and 35 MPG. But I reckon 27MPG for most driving would be about the average.

riley - I must admit that I am missing my Sportline, whilst the winter months are here. But, come summer it will be great to get it out again. I know I'm going to miss the power of the Storm, but just one day of roof down driving will make up for it! The C will keep me going in the adrenalin stake though. When I floor it in third, the roar from the RamAir induction kit and AmD throttle body is like a drug.....

The engine on my VR6 has recently started cutting out occasionally, when trying to start up. When I turn the ignition it will fire up, then immediatly cut out. This can happen once, several times, or not at all. There doesn't appear to be any logical sequence of events that happen prior to it. Other then an AmD remap, throttle body, Ramair induction kit and Milltek exhuast, the car is 100% standard Storm.

I had 140 mph registering on the Snooper, in my VR. Felt quite sturdy, but you do seem to run out of road rather quickly!

Read this with interest after my trip home fom Christmas vacation. I drove from Lincoln to the North of Scotland, a distance of 450 miles. I left at 3am and was doing really well until I hit the A9 north of Perth and was snow bound for an hour! Total time for this journey, including fuel stops and getting stuck in the snow, was 6 hours door to door. It was a perfectly clear, dry, traffic free night, until the snow hit. I remember GPS speeds of double the speed limit being registered on some stretches of road. Haven't had this much fun in the C for a long time- it did manage to kill my front CV/Ball joint off though! The joys of living near an Autobahn are becoming ever more apparent!

I thought it could be the lights, but have also set off in the day with them on, just to make sure - and it still works. I have 11 years experience as an electronics engineer, so I am sure I wll find out what is causing it. But all the testing and faults point to the weirdest things! T'is bloody queer tho'

Is anyone aware of a light sensor that works with the rear spoiler? Mine doesn't go up at night automatically, but is fine during the day! I know this sounds absolutly mad, but when I start the car in the dark, with no street lighting around it, it will not raise when I hit the magic 57MPH, but when I start the car during the day, or under a well lit area at night, the spoiler will go up when expected. I have checked this several times as I thought it was a coincidence, but every time gives the same result! Am I going mad, or is there a sensor in there I dont know about?

Depends on the weather!! As I will be coming from Scotland - Cab on a Sunny summer day, Storm for the other 364 days of the year!

OUCH!! I thought costs would only be around 3 grand! If they are spending that sort of cash, I may have a rethink about the whole idea!!

I am considering the option of supercharging my Storm, and was after peoples opinions of this. Also, who would be the best company to go to, to have the work carried out, and what sort of prices would I be looking at?

Apart from the AmD badges on the rear and grill, the look of my Storm is, and will remain very standard. I think tuning the engine with certain mods is ok though. I have a Ram Air induction kit (still have the air box in the garage though), Larger Throttle bodies, Milltek exhaust and a Remap. Other than the Induction kit (and the noise) you couldn't really tell the difference from a standard Storm, from its appearance. It is hard to stop myself doing something to the cosmetics though. But staying with the original look is a conscious decision I have made and I intend to stick to it.

LOL, Nice one. I've just put L500 VW on my Storm -
I had a check of the relays located above the fuse box, and comparing them to the picture in the manual, there is one missing. I dont know which one is which though, as I do not have a relay list. I did ensure that all the relays that are present, are in firmly though, and this had no effect on the washers. Are there any other possibilities?

Cheers Steve. Considering the work that was done, this does sound like a plausable theory. I shall head back there, armed with this "insider" knowledge. Many thanks Adam

I took the Vr6 in to the dealers to get the bonnet catch repaired, and since I have had it back, I am unable to get the washer jets to work. I have found so far that - 1. There is no 12v supply going to the washer pump when you pull the wiper arm. 2. I know the mechaninc had to take the fuse box out to replace the cable for the bonnet catch. 3. The wipers work, so I know it is not the fuse. 4. The wiper arms move when you try to activate the washers. Would anyone think there is a possibilty he has dislodged something, or even have any other idea as to what could be the problem. I am taking it back to them soon, but I would like to have an idea what it could be, instead of them fobbing me off with some story.

There really is quite a varied opinion on them then. I must admit, that I have spoke to a few C owners, and they all say "Mmmmm, A Storm" and get that dreamy look in their eyes. I guess it all come down to the badge and the exclusivity of it then. I would also be the first to admit that I do like the attention the Storm Badge atracts, and this is something I wouldnt get if it was just a VR6.

lights on warning buzzer - original equipment??
AdamB replied to STORM 2's topic in General Car Chat
My Storm definatly doesnt have one, and as this was one of the last C's made, if they put them on any, then it would make sense to keep them on the Storms too. -
I am very new to Corrado ownership, and it would seem, lucky enough to buy a Storm as my first one. However, reading between the lines on many of the posts, there appears to be a fair bit of Storm-bashing going on. So are these cars a very sought after model, that any C owner would love to own. OR is this just a view of Storm owners, and the truth is that non Storm owners are not bothered about this model either way. OR, is this attitude from non-Storm owners, just a bit of jealousy? I'd love to hear an unbiased view on this, as I know in the Golf world (my roots) the Campaign Mk1 is a highly desirable car, and also an end of production car, that any Golf owner would sell his sisters virginity for!

BUYERS BEWARE!! from someone who asked the seller a question
