    TT Dash advice please

Cheers Jay Well the dash is £350 8) and that does sound like a hell of a lot of work  Ive never done anything like this before and TBH the money id spend buying it and doing it was put aside to sort other (easy lol) bits that I was going to do. Im not sure about it now............I really want the TT dash but I dont think ive got the experience or the money to get someone to guide me through it

  4. I really like the look of the TT dash in the Corrado and Ive found this that very local to me. TT dash complete with the clocks & the wiring loom to all the the swithes, long with the fuse box. Steering column & stalks. Heater box & the dutcs too. Comes with all nuts & bolts. Thing is that Ive never taken anything like this on before and just wanted to know how hard it would really be  Any advice 8)

Does it feel like metal on metal? Not really sure but could be  Does it feel like the clutch pedal is sticking (perhaps on the dash trim at your feet .. ?)? No Does it still happen repeatably, or does the car need to be warm? Just the same when hot or cold Does it happen when you press the brake pedal? No When it happens are you already off the clutch? Yep Does the car lurch when it happens? No I had a new clutch in August last year and Ive got a RPT soild front mount that I got on the cgti GB, but I havent checked the bolts for it since its been back from the respray.

    Clunk

I haven’t driven my car to much since November as its been in the bodyshop and then getting the bodge work sorted  but Yesterday I went to see my parents/brother in London and drove the 400mile round trip in my car with no problems. Once back in Huddersfield I found that everytime I went to pull away from the army of traffic lights we have here there would be a loud clunk noise and I could also feel it through the pedals  It wasn’t doing it everytime but its very worrying. The only work ive had done on the suspension has been the top mounts that needed doing at the MOT in September but Ive probably only done about 700 miles since then  :( Im going to take the front wheels off and have a good look if this rain stops tomorrow but what should I really look for ?? Cheers J

    Would it be safe ?

You need a light on the back but not the front. Yes my front plate is illegal. It should be the same size as the rear one

    Would it be safe ?

I haven’t been pulled yet  Ive always found that if your rear plate is illegal then your more likely to get pulled than if the front one is. Mine is 3" x 9" so nowhere near std :D I bought three L brackets from B&Q and used some really strong glue (dont know the name sorry) and let it all set over night. Then the brackets are just screwed into the bottom part of the bumper. There’s some bigger pics in my gallery (link in sig :D )

    Would it be safe ?

I moved the leads this morning and have spent most of the day in the car 8) with no problems. I can get to the leads and get to the plugs if I need to so thats not a problem. I think it looks so much better now 8) I just need to clean the rest of the winter muck off
  17. How To Polish Your Manifold 8)

    Would it be safe ?

Thanks Adam :D sciroccotune Ive just been out to the garage and put No1 round the route it would take and its more than long enough 8) So in theory the others should also fit  I bought these Ht leads when I got the car because the one that were on were knackered so I couldn’t say whether they were any better, certainly more expensive though !!!!!!
  19. Hi, Im just wondering if it would be safe to run the HT leads between the lower part of the inlet manifold and the head on a valver. Will it be too hot under there ?? Reason I ask is that ive got a polished inlet manifold and the Ht leads are the really thick Nology Hotwires and IMO they look really stupid going along the top of the inlet and they hide all the hard work ive put into keeping the inlet polished  What do you think ? Cheers J
