    Lifeless vr

Hi it might be obvious, but have you checked the fuse for the spoiler. If this blows you cant start the engine on the VR, i think its on the same circuit as the fuel pump.

    Respray

Thanks Walsey What you say about the paint makes sense. I tried using the purple mix but it doesn't look right so I guess I should try the green mix and see what happens!
  3. Glad to hear you fixed it and that it was just a fuse. A word of warning, treat your fobs like gold as if you lose them like I did you're stuffed! I was lucky to find somebody with a spare control box and fobs!! As for the ECU it seems the 'knowledge base' is saying you need to use VAGCOM. Maybe you should try putting another post in the engine forum regarding this to see what other users think
  4. ok, ive just sent you a PM with the instructions attached....hope this helps. Not sure about the ECU, I was under the impression that as long as you ran the engine for at least 10 minutes after reconecting, then that would be ok, but not sure if this is correct.
  5. Ive got the original instructions here so i'll get back to you in a minute...

    Respray

The problem is i've not seen an original aqua blue car. Mine seems to show a purple or a green tinge depending on what angle you look from and under different light conditions. Did the original aqua blue look like this or has mine been resprayed at different times with the different versions of the paint? Anybody help?
  7. Hi Not sure what the answer is here. The whole system should have reset itself when you reconnected the battery. The alarm you've got is the conlog logic 900, if you do a search on the forum i think there is info about this sort of problem. If you have the original key you can turn the siren off or you could pull the fuse out...its one of three fuses just above the main fuses. Alternatively you could always disconnect the whole thing.
  8. Hi I use N & G VW specialists in Splott, Cardiff. They've done everything on my VR always first rate. If they can't sought you out i'm sure they'll know somebody who can.
  9. Hmmm Just spent a couple of hours trying to get the thing out of the boot....still cant get the two end bolts out. Tried drilling them out, but I need something more powerful. I surpose the last resort is to just cut the plastic housing off!!!
  10. Hi Glad to hear your success. If the weather is dry on the weekend i'm going to give it a go, but 'll have to rebuild the plastic housing as per the vortex thread as it cracked as soon as i turned the bolt! After that i'm going to take the sunroof motor apart.......i've got the DIY bug and i cant stop!

    Respray

Anyone recommend a good place for full respray in S.Wales or possibly S.West? Mine has had a bad job sometime in its life and now the paint is lifting on the bonnet. Also I think its been touched up along the way with different mixes of aqua blue. My local paint supplier rekons theres two mixes for aqua blue, a purple base or a green base. Anybody know if this is correct?

    sunroof fixing kit

Hi all, I've got exactly the same problem as some of you. It'll slide open no probs 90% of the time but then every now and then it wont close. Again I get the same clicking of the switch but nothing moving. sounds like i'm going to nhave to look at this cog!
  14. Hi just found the page. the links on there somewhere: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=56708&p=679029&hilit=vortex#p679029
  15. There has been a thread on here recently..i think, with a link to vortex giving instructions on how to strip down and clean the spoiler. I started doing it last saturday but got beaten by the rain, it seems really straightforward except you have to drill out one of the holding bolts, its pretty clear in the instructions. If you start blowing fuses then you probably wont be able to start the car as its on the same circuit as the fuel pump
  16. I can only echo whats been said, jump in you wont regret it. Make sure you find a good un and put some extra cash aside for wear and tear on car thats over 10 years old but an absolute classic. I'm not as able as Herisites but I've had go and you soon learn that way! Drive a Corrado and life becomes so sweet!

    CD Manual

No probs mate. The more help I get the better! Looks like I'm going to save up for the paperback as I can't make much sense of Elsa
  18. Hi I've got hold of one of these CD manuals and not sure if its working properly. When I select workshop manual I only get the info on the engine. Is this correct or should I see more? and is the CD the same as the bently paperback?
  19. A massive thanks to Yalan for posting me his conlog stuff. He did this straight away, trusting that I would then send him the postage...which I did. Cheers mate :D
  20. Wow that looks amazing! How permenant is it? The top coat of the leather is badly worn on my steering wheel, would it come off on my hands?
  21. Hi Not sure if its still possible to get them recoded. But you do need to have the master fob which is the the one with the red cover over the LED. The Fob with the white cover is the slave

  23. I've managed to get another fob off ebay, but am still not sure if it can be recoded. Also managed to get my hands on a key for the immobiliser but it didn't fit....still cant drive the car!
  24. Cheers mate.......I'm approaching a big birthday so spare brain will be very handy!!
  25. Hope somebody can help! I've lost the only fob I had for the Conlog alarm I think its the 900. If I manage to track down another fob ( not sure where from ) can they be recoded? More immeadiately is there anyway of deactivating the system so I can drive the car? Any help would be great
