I've got a 95vr with the diavia air con so assumed i needed the longer belt, is this correct....excuse my ignorance? if the weather is ok tomorrow i'm going to double check that all the pulleys are actually working properly
-
I've managed to get the belt on, but I can't get it to stay on! The tensioner looks to be doing its job but the belt just keeps creeping off. i noticed that one of the two centre pulleys is quite smooth, is this supposed to be like this?
-
Thanks guys, I was thinking about having a go myself so you've just given me the kick I needed. My local VW stealer wanted £76 for the belt but I've managed to get one for £26 via a specialist in Cardiff!

My auxiliary belt has come off and i need to get the car to a garage so i can get it on the ramp. The garage is about 2 miles away so can i drive the car without doing any further damage. I know i wont have the servo brakes or the power steering but i dont want to wreck anything else

Put me down for 1 please -
This is was a bit more tricky because of the angle and reflections. Need to spend more time doing it really, but it gives you an idea what it would look like. But i think you should leave well alone the corrado looks cool as it is.

Hi Mate, if you have any looms left i'll take one. As its been winter here in S. Wales for the past few months I've realised I need to do something about my lights!!!

Rang my garage about the pedal sensor. The fault showed up initially as the sensor but then cleared, but the symptoms are still there. They tried to get a new pedal sensor but failed, so anybody know where I can get one from or what the part number is? Also the garage said that their VAGCOM didnt fit my car? does this make sense? they been using some other software. i'm ignorant on most matters technical....on a very big learning curve!

Hi guys, well earlier on I went to collect my car from the garage. It had had an MOT, service, new discs & pads on the back, new bearing on the back, new ABS sensor on the back and the correct top plates fitted on to the eibachs!! I drove the car for 5 minutes then as I went to crawl over a speed bump the ABS pump starts whirring for no reason and brakes go on, when I touch the pedal they release!!! So the cars back in the garage! Anyway, for those 5 minutes I had the car it was like driving a completely new corrado. What a difference those top plates have made, thanks so much guys! Its now made me realise how bad the handling was. Whoever had the car before me had put the later top plates on, so when I bought it I didint know any different. For 5 mins this afternoon it felt like I was driving a corrado for the first time!! Thanks again.
-
Thanks for all your help guys. So does the older plate fit in the newer car ok? or does it need to modified in any way?
-
Yeah my car is a later N 95 so its got the later top plate Hmmmm

Last summer I bought a set of eibach springs hoping that this would solve the clunking sound on nearly full lock ( a previous owner had lowered the car). It did improve slightly but has got much worse over the last couple of months, as a result it failed the MOT. My garage has stripped it all and found that the springs don't fit in the top plate. I've checked with VW and the correct top plate has been fitted. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated as i'm totally ignorant regarding the suspension......most things actually
-
Thanks I should have said my car was already lowered when i bought it so i'm presuming it has shorter shocks
-
Hi guys Ive managed to snap a spring on the front suspension so i need to get it fixed pretty quick! I quickly tried to read through this thread and it seems most people recomend H&R springs. However as I have standard suspension (not coilovers) will these be ok. Any help would be appreciated as i'm a complete novice in his area. Thanks

Hi Jonesy Similar problem with my sunroof. Mine wont budge in any direction anymore, have tried regreasing, and the relays are making all the right clicks. The only thing that i can come up with is that there must be some part of the mechanism that needs grease but is hidden in the roof, as it does feel stiff when I use the handle!

Just want to heap praise on my local garage N & G VW/AUDI Cardiff. They've done loads of work on my car this week and they've been absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much of problem and they always go the extra mile. They've even put up with me worrying about all sorts of different noises. If you live in the South Wales area you wont find better service :D

Hi, heres the link to the spoiler cleaning guide....all the best http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3085588

Hi mate Still havent got round to fixing mine. Couldn't get the captive nuts out so eventually decided to cut through the plastic with a hot knife....worked a treat.Tried to get the whole thing out but got beaten by the boot lock. I'll have another go when the weather improves and I get some spare time   Good point. What the Feck were they all smoking in Karmann's electrical section back then???? When the spoiler blows a fuse on my VR you cant start the car.....fuel pump on the same circuit I think!!!!!!
-
Sorry guys should have read the post properly. Didnt realise your engine wasnt firing at all.......when you blow the spoiler fuse the enine does start for about half a second then dies.
-
The engine definetly wont start if you blow the spoiler fuse.....well thats the case on my car anyway. When my immobiliser/alarm wasn't working I used to take out the spoiler fuse overnight...cant trust the natives around here. As I said I'm not sure what the connection is between the engine and the fuse.
