  1. I actually bought some spacers the other day to solve that little problem bought some 'universal' ones from ECP. Put them on then took em off again! Didn't trust them at all - had huge holes to fit numerous vehicles, stuck out around the edges of the hub and didn't have many turns of the thread left  I thought i'll just leave it the way it is until i can afford decent spacers/bolts Mine are BBS RZs btw
  2. Very nice Jim :) Weren't too keen on them before you got them but now there on your car think they look great. Subtle and nice without being too bling 8)

    MK4 golf brakes?

Definitley quite a bit better than standard 16v brakes. Just a pain having to sand down the pads to get them to fit in the std 16v calipers  Worthwhile mod though
  5. Long shot but...would the front brake calipers from a 1.8T golf fit on my car (91 1.8 16v)? I have 280mm brake discs using G60 carriers but with the original calipers that the moment. Think the golfs have 288mm size disks Cheers Rob

    this rack fit mine?

What do you mean by TRW rack  Would someone be able to have a look on ETKA for me to see if they are different? Cheers :)
  7. My car is a 91 but this steering rack is for 92-95. Just want to be sure that this defintley wont fit my car otherwise i'd try and get it because it could be a bargain! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9889&item=2488064455&rd=1
  8. Looked into the neuspeed regulators and they dont seem to exist. I tried C&R first and he'd never heard of them. Then tried Awesome Gti store and he looked through the neuspeed catalogue and apparently weren't in that either :?:
  9. I meant to say GPC, not GSF  Think i'll have to have a look at these neuspeed ones. Cheers Kev :)
  10. I need a new window mechanism. The problem is VW only sell them with the motor as well which i dont need. They are £181+VAT which i dont want to be paying! For the same part GSF want £150+VAT. This is still more than i can afford. I'd much prefer to get a new one so i know it's not going to pack up in the new future and a window mechanism isn't one of the easiest things to replace so dont want to be doing it again  Anyone else sell them new a little cheaper? Cheers Rob
  11. Was good to meet up with you lot, some nice cars. Edition38 cars were awesome 8) Think a new place to meet might be a good idea, that landlady didn't seem too accomodating  Bally, you didn't seem too pleased with that calibra's driving on the way back
  12. Looks stunning mate, those BBS's are one of my favourites 8) Love that blue too, really shines up well in the sun

    CV boot split

All done now. Decided to just do the boot, the joint appeared to be fine but its hard to tell. Wasn't actually too much of a pig to do, the joint only needed a little 'tapping' with a copper mallet. Ball joint was a b***h to get out from the hub housing though  Now i've done that it looks like the other side will need doing in the next 6 months
  14. Have to agree with that, looks sweet  Really liking the wheels!
  15. I've had a look and can see whats worn. Not sure what its called but it's the bit of the mechanism which is like a cog (but not circular) and has 'teeth'. A section of these teeth is worn down almost flat so that at a certain point in putting the window up it just keeps slipping. I definitly need new parts. What do i ask for, window mechanism or window regulator?

    CV boot split

Does a worn CV joint cause play in the wheel?
  17. Excellent idea mate. It could become the bible of cheaper corrado ownership

    CV boot split

There's a possibility the CV joint could need doing... At very low speeds there is lots of clunking from the front suspension area. Cant exactly pin-point where its coming from. It clunks at a standstill when i turn the steering wheel and it clunks going over bumps also. Steering is also heavier than it used to be. Was gonna change the balljoints as its fairly cheap to see if thats the problem but i think its more likely the steering rack. Or could it be a CV??
  19. Sounds like i might be able to get away with no new parts then. Like the sound of that! Door card off again
  20. The sunroofs the only thing im using that the moment! My passenger window window isn't working either due to a switch being knackered and in the permenently up position  More things to sort...
  21. My electric window has always been a bit dodgy. It goes down very quickly and goes up slower. Also quite noisy/rattly in operation. Recently its taken a bad turn and sort of wobbles about as it goes up. A couple of times its stoppped about 2 inches from the top and wouldn't budge. Press the button a couple of times more and it sorts itself out. I havn't had a look yet but im guessing i need a new window regulator. Anything else it could be? Cheers Rob

    CV boot split

My n/s boot has split leaving a nice load of oil coating over my wheels. 2 questions really: 1) How hard to do 2) My car is on 103k and has been lowered around 60mm for about 18 months. I've heard the problems that can be had of overlowering such as wearing CV joints. Is it worth it while im doing the boot to change the CV joint to? Wheel bearing also? Im possibly keeping the car for another year or so... Cheers Rob
  23. All fixed, looks like a good job although it hasn't rained yet! Apparently some of the old seal was stuck on with superglue  which made it a little tricky but he said was straight forward other than that. He's done a few corrados before and he says usually they've all had some rust lurking underneath. Thankfully mine is rust free and the best one he's done :D
