BTW, Halfords are doing 20% off there wheels inc BBS. I was going to get some BBS RCs + tyres for £740, but there catalogue was outdated and apparently they've stopped doing the 17" RC :x However, in my Milton Keynes store the offer doesnt include BBS or OZ wheels whereas in the Coventry store it does :?

Ive had 17s on my c before but they were very heavy and i could notice the acceleration difference considerably. My question is if i get a lightweight rim such as OZ superTs, will it still have a stubstantial effect on acceleration over the standard 15s? Its only a 1.8 16v so its not that quick in the first place, dont want to slow it down any more! Im considering 16s but think 17s would look that bit better. So guys, any experience/opinions?

lowred 40 mm! looks lower. very meen and moody, i like :D

Looking good Bally! :D Ive also been told tha handlings better with the front lower than the back :? On my c, the front coilys are wound down a little and the rears are wound down loads (not much left to go!) and it sits pretty level nice :D Guess the c just sits a bit lower at front than rear when standard

cant say i was impressed with the price AMD charged me for 4-wheel alignment -£98. -
Ok,cheers :) Need something sorted soon. Got caught in the downpour yesterday-wipers not good :x

I want to sort out my wipers for winter coz there s***e! Normal corrado problem of not clearing the screen. Thought about the lupo ones but think they look a bit poo! So, anyone got a single wiper for their c and do they work well and solve the problem?
-
What TT wheels are you after? I wanted to put the 5 spoke polished competition wheels on my c, they would look ace 8) Hav'nt been able to find any though

Oh well, stumped up and ordered it all up from VAG in the end I've got the head off and unsure of where leaks coming from. Gasket seems to be ok and cant c any cracks but that was about 12.30 lastnight! Weird thing was that there was 1 head bolt which came out completely dry and a bit rusty :? (bottom right looking at engine bay). All others were oily and fine. Coul the head be cracked internally which i wouldnt be able to see? Also, loads of water in engine. Is there some kind of flush to get it out with?

That looks almost identical to mine! Is the paint code LD7Y? (label in the boot under carpet) Quartz metallic if it is. I love this colour :)

Think i tried them. Are they the ones in Luton that have the yellow advert in mags? They said they dont deal in engine parts :?

Stealers strike again  :x 150 quid for a head gasket set! Its a common bl**dy service part  I decided to just do gaskets, stem seals, bolts and cambelt while im there and its gonna cost me about 300 quid in parts. Thought it would be fairly cheap doing it myself. PS: should you change the cambelt tensioner when doing cambelt and does anyone know where to get genuine parts cheaper Cheers
-
So what else would be a good idea. Stem seals, valve guides etc. Do you need a special tool to get valve guides out. Also, peoples views on ported and ported heads on an otherwise standard 95k 16v engine. just a thought :) cheers

Right, definitly head gasket. Oil level really high on dipstick, mayo and had to top up water after 2 days! No external leaks. Car off the road :( Funds are as usual pretty tight and i need the car running again as soon as poss. Need advice on getting it sorted. As its done 95k with never having a head rebuild, Vince at Stealth Racing advised one. To have have him do it is 450+VAT and i would have to drive 50+ miles so not an option. Not sure if they would just supply a recon head?? My Dads pretty competent so we'll probably sort it out ourselves. What parts would people advise changing, difficulty, tools, cost of all parts etc. Is it worth the hassel or would it be better buying a recon head? How do peoples 16Vs sound? Mine generally sounds smooth with bonnet close but when the bonnet it is up it can sound like a tank! Just wondering wheather to change tappets as well?? Or shall i make it simpler for myself and just do the gasket? She still runs alright except a bit rough when cold Cheers for any advice, i want it sorted so i can go to Woburn on Sunday!

Do you pay per person or per car? How much? I dont really mind, its just my non-corrado owning mates which might grumble
-
Cheers lads - great step by step guide, thats just how i want mine! Think im gonna start over again Andy, do it properly this time. They need touching up round the edges anyway coz they're showing orange there. What am i best off getting then, laquer or clearcoat. Just halfords stuff do?
-
Anyone got any tips on getting a nice shiny, factory looking finish with the spray stuff? I'm doing the top half smoked. Did them ages ago but they look really dull and nova-ish :x Did my old golfs which turned out spot on but with different stuff which i cant get hold of anymore.
-
Does this set up just bolt straight on then, no modifications to anything?
-
Weather hasn't been cold for a while now so wouldn't know. Think the heater still works. Any way i could check it? Cheers
-
Ok, probably give the cap a go I always check for white smoke and theres never been any. I'll get the engine revved up and hot and look under the bonnet then like you say scott Cheers
-
What do you do with the cable wired in to the handle then? Cant see how its connected and how they would reconnect to the passatt handle. Do you need these cables hooked back up with delocked doors? I reckon this is just me being dim  Cheers

Try Brentacre 01792 650933. They dont mind modifications. HIC and Adrian Flux were also cheap
