Caddy van ones are the same as VR6 ones, and I think they're cheaper too.

RH ZW2's, they're ace.

Who's travelled the furthest for a car in one stint???
Slimbo replied to H8RRA's topic in General Car Chat
Flew from Aberdeen to Heathrow, tube from Heathrow to Victoria station, train to Canterbury, drove back to Aberdeen, all in the same day. My back was knackered when I got back. Well worth it though. -
Other than the spring/shock kit - what else do I need?

Phone The Phirm and ask for a quote, simple. -
According to Clarkson's column in the Sun, Hammond couldn't make the taping so it's just the 2 of them, and some new cars get destroyed accidentally.

I thought the film was awful. It's meant to be a bloody war film, yet there's no war. I know the story's meant to be about the irony of soldiers standing about doing nothing in wartime and the like, but when I watch a film, I want to see people being shot with big guns and buildings being blown up, I don't want to watch irony. Christ, there's more deaths in your average Police Academy film. I had to stay up until 3am watching Black Hawk Down afterwards to get my fix, now that's a proper war film.

Had a few PM's regarding the Highsports I mentioned further up. There's a group buy on Eastside VW at the moment: http://www.eastsidevw.co.uk/modules.php ... pic&t=2848 I know the guy, his family business is one of the best bodyshops in the north of Scotland, and I can vouch for him being genuine. If you can't be bothered registering to get in touch, his e-mail address is mailto:[email protected] (his dad's name). Tell him I sent you and he'll sort you out.

Correction, it's £330 for Mk4 Golfs, £350 for Mk2/Mk3/Corrado. Still a good price though.
-
I can get you Highsports for £330 + delivery (£15)...

He's be better mounting the engine in the rear. I've seen it done with a Honda V-TEC engine in the back. I'll hopefully be let loose in a Minibusa this summer when the one I've been helping to build finally gets finished.

There's someone on Edition38 selling a 3 litre VR6 engine with new forged pistons for £800.

Put yourself in their shoes. Would you trust a teenager with no evidence of safe driving with a fast car? Still seems a bit excessive though. I was about £700 to insure my Mk2 Golf GTi 16v TPFT when I was 21.

would you buy under these circumstances?..............
Slimbo replied to DannyBwoy's topic in General Car Chat
Just buy it. What's the worst that can happen? Something breaks, then get it fixed. It'll probably happen to any Corrado you buy anyway, they're not exactly renowned for reliability. Some people prefer to service their own cars or gets mates to do it as homers over giving it to some grease monkey apprentice to thrash about and change your stereo settings after he's given it an oil change. And there's a lot of car type people who can't be bothered faffing about with receipts and paperwork. If there's no receipts for repairs, the owner probably just went down to the local scrapyard to get a part to fix it himself with. There's a lot of people who will turn their nose up at something like that, but it's fine, it's an old car, and things will need fixed. If you liked the car, liked the feel of it and couldn't find anything wrong with it, go with your instinct. -
You can buy the metal ones direct from the manufacturer online now at: http://www.gruvenparts.com I'd recommend it, it's got a cool wee tap thing to let you drain the coolant with ease. So I was told by the chap I got to fit it anyway. Looks cool too. Seems like they've got a few other goodies for Corrados on there too.

I put 5mm spacers on, but most people just take a big mallet and bash the plastic cap in until the centre cap goes on. -

Nice wheels :D -
I only say that because I had an advanced taxation exam last week and had been studying, otherwise I wouldn't have a clue what I was going on about.
-
Well if you're trading them, the gains you make will be Schedule D Case 1 profits assessable under Income Tax as the cars will be classed as stock. That's my interpretation of it anyway :)
-
Motor Cars aren't assessed under CGT.... ;)

If it's immaculate and standard, then it should fetch £4k on a good day. Some people seem to think they're worth a lot more than that though.
-
Or a perfectly good example of what happens when you give idiots access to keyboards. Nissans? I ask you. I blame students.
-
I'd go with the Golf. Main reason being that it's not a Nissan.
-
Does that mean you'll be selling the 17" RS's?
