  1. Subs are only chav if all you can hear is them thumping, a good quality set up should ensure that subs enhance the sound of the music.
  2. What about modern style Porsche ones?
  3. You can run it at a maximum of 8psi before you have to upgrade the internals IIRC.

    HT leads?

Does anyone have the VW part number for the Red Beru leads or know which car they were a standard part on?
  5. Hope there aren't any car thieves reading this thread...

I agree with whoever said the original VW red Beru leads are the best, and you won't have to worry about filing down clips, etc, to make bigger aftermarket ones fit either.
  7. If someone reversed into me, malicious would be letting them off lightly.
  8. "For the first 5-10 minutes of driving, when changing gear, as soon as your foot depresses the clutch the engine revs up about another 500RPM." I don't take that to mean idle speed. Anyway, I'm just going off what it says on the VW invoice, that's what the reported problem was, they inspected it and that's how they fixed it. £700 labour charge. Ouch.
  9. Sounds like a problem my car had before I bought it. The previous owner had the gearbox rebuilt as a bearing had went in it. The VW dealer bill came to £1200 in total. Ouch.
  10. I'd recommend Supersprint, I've got one on my VR and i'm very happy with it, the fit is as good as standard and the tailpipe sits totally flush with the rear bumper, can hardly hear it when idling and gives a nice low rumble once you creep over 4000rpm. Bit pricey though, but worth spending the extra imo.
  11. What's the difference between a VGI and a VSR?
  12. I had it on my tornado red mk2 valver for about a year and a half and the effect on the paintwork was amazing, not once was I bothered with the paint turning pink in the sun like my previous 2 tornado red ones. I didn't pay to get it done though so not sure about its value for money.
  13. Try giving the car a good service first, there may be something at fault that's causing it to be a bit non-responsive. And you're like a red rag to a bull in the eyes of insurance companies so getting insurance on a faster car is going to be near impossible anyway so just be thankful you've got a car that looks good and still looks modern despite its age. Or you could just stick a turrrrbo in it....
  14. Hurry up and get that windscreen replaced slack ass, probably the best sounding road car that I've ever heard in the flesh. 8)
