Wheres the easiest place to find my VR6's VIN (chassis no.) number? Under the carpet?
-
Hello there Lee, love your wheels (& car!) - their 8.5 by 17 - yeh? Im wanting to fit Keskins KT1's to my VR in the same size. Any arch mods needed? How low will i have to go to make it look right - u've got yours just right. Did u fit same size rim to back and front? Cheers!

I've also had same problem with fella in work - boasting his Cavaliar SRi (Red Top!) will do my standard 94' VR6 no prob - as he puts it " mine eats Type R's so u've no chance". Being quite a bit older and mature , I tend to ignore the comments as hes know to be a complete pr*ck anyway! I didn't buy my C to go racing boyracers anyway but I am quite surprised the number of people (well kids!) that slate the VR's performance and have heard "their crap" a few times now - i tend to reply "look at the TopGear review mate" and numerous mag articles. :agrue:

What Companies do this? :norty:

Anyone any ideas what insurance company would insure my 94' VR6 for 1 month only? - cant quite afford 1 YR yet and dont want my renewal date this close to Xmas every year!

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy a set of H&R lowering springs for my 94 VR6. The car already has Koni adj. on it but standard springs!
-
Easily Rondells - might go same way meself! No Azev A's or Keskins Klassik's ????

I was thinking the same thing about warranty Warcraft - I'll keep a check on things and see how it goes - cheers!

Remember this noise is for brief second on startup only - reading your views and what i know i reckon its starter run over - i heared similar noise on my RS Turbo which was a faulty starter. The car has new engine (VW supplied - 15k miles) and new chains and tensioners!
-
Can a engine diagnosis tell what components are at fault?
-
Only owned my 94' VR6 for few weeks and noticed a high pitched noise on firing up. The noise is very brief - fuel pump? starter? or is this the norm with VR's?
-
Warranty expired in Sept 2004 (1 yr.) - I dont think theres a fault with the engine - just want tobe 100% sure! Would Sinclairs(the VW dealers) be able to check the engine properly (£50 inspection charge)

Too late now! In a rush to get battery - GFS were closed yesterday(re. Monday) - so bought the relevent Halfords one - cost £60 (reduced from £75) Calcium battery. Guy said they were up by 20% power on VW ones ??? Anyway fitted and seems OK! Noticed the battery that came off car (also Halfords) was the wrong type recommended by the store for a VR6. Hope made right choice - 4 yr. guarantee :)

Think my VR6 might need new battery - been using my second car for week or so - just turning over the C. every other day but found the battery to be dead when came to use it! Used jump leads to start engine but following day was again drained (re. battery). Suppose there could be a short in circuit present - perhaps trouble with the full closure alarm (GT Auto). Anyway theres a Halfords battery on the car (as when i bought it) - advise me on what battery to get that will suit the Corrado VR6 best?
-
Cheers dr. - I think the RAC guy was over cautious as they have got to cover themselves. I might take the C to VW just to check it out (£50 inspection :( ) . The leads & plugs are fairly new - the new engine fitted 2003!

Cheers kevhaywire, i did mean the two with the bellows between - only prob is I'm not doing the pads, only the bearings so i wont have replacement bolts. Is this the best way anyway as i want to save on garage bills ( Quoted £35 a side )

Just attempted to change the rear wheel bearings on my 94' VR6 but couldn't get the callipers apart to remove the hub. I tried to undo the two bolts joining the calliper - but bolts just seems to turn without coming loose. Have u got to hold something with wrench to stop it spinning or something else? Gave up after 1 hour - freezing outside! Any ideas?

What lowering springs give the most comfortable ride - H&r or Eibachs when mated with Koni adj. susp. Also what lowering heights do these uprated springs achieve?
-
My Escort RS Turbo has 17's(voodoos) - found the ride very hard as aposed to stock wheels althought it has Spax susp. I would have thought the profile of the tyre would make the difference - my C has 205 - 40 profile fitted (16's) - the same profile that most 17's would be fitted with. Are there other differences that will affect the ride?

Looks great mate! Oh! and thanks for the pics Warcraft - the car just been washed and chamoised and looks extra 8) . I'll look after U'r old car mate! These Azevs A's - are they available in the deeper dished variety? At the moment i'm slightly leaning towards the Keskins(KT1) - Tremendous looking wheel - will suit the C. down to the ground. How much will they set me back and whats the correct dimensions , et etc on the 17's?
