Cheers again folks! Four 16.5's (Shelf & Doors) + two tweeters (Dash) + Amp + Audioscapes :D
-
Cheers mate, the tweeters are going to replace the stock dash ones anyway, was just saying if i should use the additional set of tweeters i would have if l bought another set of 16.5s - in other words i would have 4 tweeters to use! The Infinitys Reference Range also includes 5.25s components - which again has a good output power - but strangely these are the same price as the 16.5's which are slightly more powerful! Defo using the shelf with the Infinitys and probably go for the audioscapes aswell. I am yet to purchase an amp - any suggestions for the 6 speakers? No sub!
-
Thanks for advice Smee - money not really an issue, well until i get back from my hols that is! :) - Ive got the Infinitys (with tweeters) rated at 270W peak power - not sure if i should buy another set of these to run in the doors? That would mean two identical sets of speaker in the doors/parcel shelf! Would i discard the extra set of tweeters with the second set of Infinitys or would it be worth mounting these aswell?

No noise mate, just used to take two attempts to open the passengers door - like something waz sticking - that was before the whole thing failed and now cant even lock the doors???

Recently bought a set of 16.5cm Infinity Reference components and Halfords speaker shelf for my 94' C to replace the OE stuff in the back - would like to know would it be usless just to replace the door speakers with better (Infinity) 5.25ins ones OR to go the full hog and buy audioscapes with better 5.25ins - or even mount ANOTHER set or 16.5cm(the same as the parcel shelf) in new door pods? The Infinitys' come with small tweeters (approx 1.5ins) and crossover unit - are these the same size as the ones in the dash of the 94 C?

Anyone with any advice on the central locking mechanism on a 94 C. as mine is Fu*ked! It started off with just the passengers/boot door failing to open when activated - but this worked always on the second attempt - just as though it was just sticking somewhere! But now the whole thing is gone - in other words , i cant lock the car at all! Cant see any advice in the search section on the forum ...... Any ideas? :x

Thanks all but it turned out tobe the fuel pump fuse! :D When i first checked this it seemed OK - just a little bit of blackness! Sorted!
-
Tobe honest i cant hear a clear sound coming from the fuel pump on turning the key! Is'nt it supposed to "zzzzz" for couple of seconds then go off?
-
Bad news, the car ran for a bit then cut out! :( . Think its back to drawing board! It almost restarted soon after but now its back to where i was i'm afraid! Anyone got any ideas?
-
Hey Chris, did as u said and reseated the relays + fuses and low and behold it started! One thing though - theres a green and a blue connector in the fuse box thats not connected together - it looks as if they go together? What is this and should it be connected? Cheers!
-
Cheers again Chris!

Cheers mate, where do i find the relays?

Can anyone point me in the right direction as my 94' VR is'nt starting! The starter is turning - power in the battery - BUT the engine is'nt firing! Put more petrol in the tank - just in case it was too low! Could it be the wet conditions - damp! If so what should i wd40 - plugs, leads etc. - are the plugs easy to remove to spray? Could it be my Cat1 alarm/immob. thats at fault - i recently experienced faults with the central locking, which is linked to the Cat1? Really i just want to know where to start looking?Cheers!
-
"Lowering Caps"?? Where can i get these from? For front & back? How much? Cheers!
-
Noticed on my 94 VR that the plastic roof rails are knackered - do i get new ones from stealers? Are they hard to fit? Theres also a some wet getting on the drivers side carpet - near the right footrest! Are these spent roof rails to blame?
-
Just a quick question here - Kev your C always looked lower than mine on H&R's/Konis. I used the early type TM,s for the front etc. As the Konis are not height adj. ,how the hell did u get it to look that low compared to mine?
-
Can anyone advise me on a decent set of rear speakers (components), to fit into a stealth parcel shelf (Halfords) as Im about to start to upgrade the 6 O/E stuff. Prices around £100ish for speakers?

Got a few little digs near one of the valves(small marks on the dish) where it looks like the tyre has been inflated on one wheel - these marks are very small but annoying. Touch up with silver paint the only way to sort the marks out or is there something else i can do?
-
Your new larger 17's will fill up the gap in the arch a bit more than the smaller wheel, however the overall height of the vehicle will be slightly higher due to the bigger diameter of the wheel. My car used to catch speed humps (front spoiler) if taking them too fast but now it doesn't due to the fitment of the 17's (used to have 16's). However i am going to try to get it down another 10-15mm if poss. to make it look better! I would at least purchase a set of springs to take it down from standard ride height!
-
I reckon this wheel is about to get far more popular! Style Dynamix must be rubbing their hands!
-
What are these Bonrath top plates ? I presume the Koni TA's on my car (on when i bought it!) are only tension adj. and not height wise? What do u mean take it down a notch . I'd love to lower it another 10-15mm!

Hello again Chrishill, no probs mate - they saw to all the grinding etc after i had questioned their use of spacers on the fronts! Went for a few pints (only 2  ) with other half in High St and returned to a completed job! Waz very happy with wheels but when i first arrived i saw all the other rims i had shortlisted in the flesh - and wondered if i had made right choice (KT-1's, KT-4's). But now totally satisfied i made right choice - they're a great looking wheel - totally suited to the C! :D
