Hi All I need to replace the drivers rhs seat back rest bolster (you can feel the metal through the seat cover!), does anyone know if this can be done or does the whole back rest foam need to be replaced.. Also does anyone know where to get a seat cover from, I'm told they're obsolete from VW, mine is worn due to previously mentioned seat bolster wear! Are these easy jobs to do, or is it worth looking for a new or second hand seat Thanks

Dear all, I have lost the service book for my VR6. Really p!ssed off on two fronts: 1. have lost the service history (not *that* much of a hassle really as I don't want to sell it anyway, and most of the work wasn't VW anyway and I still have the receipts) 2. don't know what the service schedule is now. Can anyone help or advise please.? Also anyone know any independent in my area (Worthing West Sussex) who could diagnose a low rev missfire when cold and unexpected stalling when hot , slowing down for junctions etc? One who won't rip me off ! Cheers dudes

glad the info was useful only got my cd going today too! The bloke on ebay who sold it to me was no use at all re your sensor, try just searching for crankshaft, follow links to lots of pics, illustrated parts lists etc.

had similar problems with a P4 running XP home. tried all suggestions but still got 'page cannot be displayed'. I have a work around though, after renaming symcjit.dll and adding the trusted site, open the bentley program in the usual way, go to your browser window that will probably still show 'page cannot be displayed' or be blank depending on your browser. Click File - Open and browse and open the Index file that is located in dierctory Bentley Publishers\ vwct\ index\Index.html This shoud open the repair manual index screen and you can use the hyperlinks from there. The same can be done with the wiring diagrams index located in the same directory as above, the file is called wd.html I would suggest that you bookmark/add to favourites these files so you don't have to browse for them evey time. After opening these files in your browser you can navigate the manual via the tabs. Works for me have tried in IE6, Mozilla Firebird and Firefox. Hope this helps

OK dudes this is how to reset your ECU, please note though this worked on VR6 I'm not sure about other models: This info came from a very helpful chap after I posted my problem at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Corrado-UK ECU reset should be performed every time that the battery is disconnected for more than just a few minutes. Run the engine until oil & water reach 80 degrees. Disconnect the battery for at least 5 minutes. Reconnect battery and within 10 minutes perform the following 2 procedures: 1. from 30 mph in 4th gear increase revs to about 3000 rpm and hold for 4 sec. 2. from 4,600 rpm floor the throttle and hold for 4 sec. NOTE Part 2 is not that easy to do because of the speeds reached. It can be done in 3rd gear on an empty motorway but you'll be going at around 100mph and watching rev counter. Watch out! If you do it in 2nd you'll bounce off the rev limiter. If you do it in 4th then you'll be going 120 +mph! Please be carefull. When I did mine I got someone else to drive in front of me to make space and give me the room I needed to hit required revs. It worked for me, Cheers

I had a low rev misfire on my VR6, resetting the ECU and getting the car to relearn the engine curves seemed to do the trick. It was worth trying first for me as it didn't cost anything!. Not sure if the procedure is the same on 16V, but I'm sure someone will know. Has the battery been disconnected on it recently? Sunil
