Looks alright, prefer an oval tailpipe the twins look like they are at a funny angle (although that could be angle of the pic). Reckon the original looks so right anyway so would personally leave it.

No doubt, good all round car, very reliable look/s good but still not the best purchase due to shocking depreciation! My gfs £14k Foscus 2.0 esp has only 35k on clock and is only worth £4k if lucky. If she had bought a Lupo GTi of the same year (which she got talked out of before I met her  ) it would have cost her a grand less to buy and be worth at least a grand more now  . OK so maybe not the fairest comparison but its still quite a lot of dollar. Plus she would find it easier to park.

pass on that but my gf is especially when I try to turn the traction control off  :)

My girlfriend has the 2.0 3dr zetec job and I agree, no guts at top end my valver feels better when revving high! Focus corners/handles well but not a patch on the rado and the esp is sooooooooooo intrusive! I keep trying to cane the focus off roundabouts in second and it just cuts the power  even though I am way off 'the limit'

Don't get me wrong I love my 1.8 valver (142.2bhp) and benerally speaking it is fun to drive and isn't a slow car by any stretch of the imagination but every now and again I get beaten by something and come home repeating the mantra "must get VR6, must get VR6". Two cases in point. 1.Took a lot of effort other day to get past a 1.4 16v polo going up big hill out of Truro to Falmouth 2. The on way back to Plymouth from Truro got beaten up another hill by some old geezer type 5 door civic  must get vr6 must get vr6

I bought an aerosol can of waxoyl and sprayed inside doors, inside rear seat cavity, under the battery and under the boot carpet/spare wheel. Only took a few minutes, only down side was that the car stank for days  Might be worth speaking to your friedly local mechanic they may well apply if for you for a couple of hours labour.

Nice motor. Saw one in on way back to Calais once looked and sounded sweet. Love the original too. Got my car rolling roaded at Alan Jefferies tuning in Plymouth and he had one of these in.................

Hi Just a quick question........ Is the clutch on the 1990 valver rado hydralic or cable driven? and does it matter? I assume it is hydralic as most of the 02a gearboxes seem to be associated with hydralic clutches. Any help appreciated

What would you do to your C if you won the euromillions?
dig776 replied to steve_16v's topic in General Car Chat
Same as 16v, keep my c and replace with all new c plus buy a green storm and do the same thing plus buy a 911 and gallardo -
thanks BigTartanJudge, the above sounds like a much better solution and stealths re-con price is much better than the quotes I have had down this way. Also and most importantly I now know the gearbox code :D The low mileage gearbox sounds like the best solution but unless I get lucky and find one I suspect the stealth option will be the most likely choice. There was a 90k box on here recently that might suite for recon. Thanks again

Hello, My 1990 138k valver's gearbox is starting to make more and more whining noises and I think it is starting to get to the point where a, it is affecting performance or b, it is likely to go soonish. The car is still on the original clutch too so there is an increasing amount of clutch judder  I have priced up the cost of a newun and it is around £1300 from VW and a re-con comes in at around £800 fitted. Not including clutch. The above seems very expensive does anyone know of either a cheaper supplier or an alternative solution? Any help appreciated...................

Thanks g60dave, E-mail sent to sony although not sure where the receipt is! Cheers FurkiG60, hadn't thought of the bay, a quick look has not turned anything up but will keep trying. Almost certainly looks like a whole new stereo is going to the the easiest route :( Will give it a bit longer to see if any further ideas come up but if not will hopefully be able to get on in the sales. What a pointless reason to spend money though! Worst thing is the last hazy memory I have is putting the fascia somwhere and thinking "better remember where I have put this otherwise I will never find it" What an idiot!

Happy Christmas to all! and in the absence of a new 911s for Christmas (closest thing was a mechano set from my gf so I can build my own) I am sticking with my C. Only one problem (touch wood) though.............. I have only gone and lost the fascia to my Sony CDX-F5500 car stereo! Anyone know how I can (legally) source a new fascia? Any help would be appreciated as I can't be doing with a) listening to my own singing anymore or b) listening to all of the things that need to be replaced! Cheers :)

Kind of the otherway round for me. A mate who worked in the same office bought an immaculate purple vr6 rado and all I did for months was look out of the window at it. I had a few cars in between but still remembered that rado and a few years later bough one myself (all be it a valver) He parked his upside down in a field and wrote it off and now everytime I visit the office he thinks back to his rado with fondness 8) . He now has a TT.

I am pretty sure these are the ones. I sold them recently due to lack of time/commitment to fitting them :)

How about a seat arosa 1.4 16v sport jobby. A colleague at work has one in black and it seems like fun to drive. Her car prior to this was a mitsubishi evo 1 which costa fortune to run daily  My gf drives a 2.0 3 door focus zetec which is good for a laugh although seems very high after driving the rado.

Welcome to the forum it is a cool place to be. Rado looks very nice. Is it helious blue with sebrings?

I have always liked these, they are so beautifully styled and just look right (corrado for eg). V6 is the best engine but apparently the diesel is good. Really like the idea of "anti broullards" its an obvious translation but quite amusing :)

I have always liked these. What about the 2.2hdi engine apparently very toquey? Really like the idea of "anti broullards" its an obvious translation but quite amusing

Yeah I did think twice before posting :) Thanks Blown, you have reinforced what I thought. Will advise her to only let renault do the work that is under warranty and take it to a trusted garage to check the disks out. 60000 sounds a lot more reasonable. She should have got a rado :)

Hello. Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong section as it relates to a Renault Megane. Secondly. Any help would be appreciated :) A friend of mine has a Ren Megane coupe 1.6 2002 care fsh 17k on the clock. She recently took it to the dealers as the coolant warning light kept flashing. They have come back to her and have said that the oxygen centre, four coils and the front disks need changing. They seem to think that the coils can be done by renault but the oxygen centre and disks she will need to pay for. Does this sound a bit sus to anyone? Not sure what the coils are but assume they are somthing do to with starting rather than coolant? Obviously the disks are down to wear and tear (in spite of a fresh MOT being given in July 05)

I agree that the spoiler going up at 46mph is too soon (especially when I am too busy watching it and not the road! ) but wouldn't a lift at higher speed put more strain on the motor due to increased resistance? Just a thought................

Honda integra. Looks sh1te but goes quick, also will need flat cap, comfy trousers and slippers so be sure to budget for that
