Are you using hubcentric rings? (ring spacers to take up gap between the hub OD and the wheel ID) If you have aftermarket wheels you should be using them. I never thought much of it till replacing them cured the vibration.

I had the same problem with the light and the misfiring, turned out that the small red wire that plugs into the end of the starter kept coming loose. Finally fell off and the car would not start. Don't ask me how that effects the other powered systems but I crimped the plug a little fitted it back on and all the problems were gone. Hope that works for you too.

Ball Joints, Ball Joints!!! Easy to do when it's apart and makes a HUGE difference. Doesn't cost much either.

Cutting out plate recess and meshing or flushing ?
Cougar replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Exterior
I know someone here in the US that meshed the front and painted the plate numbers on. Car got impounded for fictitious plates. $350, and an insurance increase to get it back. Edit: By the way, they were the correct and legal numbers too. -
I hit a Dam turkey vulture on the highway this morning. Big freakin birds, about 2-3' tall. He took off from the side of the highway and couldn't get enough altitude in time. No where I could go as there was alot of traffic. I guess I was kinda lucky as it only smashed my drivers side mirror to bits. If I had hit him square in the windshield he definitely would have come through it. Oh by the way, when they figure out that they aren't going to clear in time they lighten the load of what ever they were eating, don't ask me how I know.

I lke the sound of the turbo kit. Will the FMIC and turbo kit work together or is custom fabrication needed?

I wish US specs came apart :(

I have a black vinyl "Corrado" on the rear bumper of my dark green car. the letters are outline and maybe 2mm wide. Can hardly see it unless you look closely.
-
I would think a quart would do it. Use primer/filler and be sure to sand the existing paint and get rid of any cracked paint and rough edges. You will have to use a flex agent as well to avoid later cracking. Paints come with good mixing instructions these days so it's not difficult. You really have to rent a compressor and a gun though but it's not hard to do.

Fonts sent out guys.

I have the corrado VW fonts if you would like them. PM me with your email and I'll send them.

Or they don't notice on purpose, I had my Passat in for a head gasket, $1600 usd, 1 week later back because of the clatter, "oh you need timeing chains" ???!!! why the heck couldn't they have done them while it was apart for the head gasket?? Another $1800 usd! I gave them the title to the car. Stealers!

Good explanation. However on my US spec it appears that the low filiments turn off when the highs are engaged. Is all 4 being on unique to euro spec lights?
-
Put some Locktite on it before you push it back in. It will last alot longer.
-
Dennis, I have a 2 relay set up with no problem (high/low). I've never heard of dedicating a relay each for the highs. Does it make a difference?
-
I was going to say that too, looks like a hack job.

As far as being visable from the second car, I think it was more intended to be an attention getter more, it's not really that much higher than the tails. I agree with Insane, that's how mine is set up as well.
-
Mine act as brake only lights now but there was never a plug or blanked there.
-
UNLESS that knock is a piece of the charger cog belt flapping around! It would feel fine on hand turn but won't last long driving.

Ok, I have my ISV re-routed to the boost tube instead of the return. So what your saying is that this could cause an over boost situation if the ECU determined that venting was necessary? If this is the case I'm considering capping the TB end of the return tube and leaving the ISV and oil breather attached to it. Could this cause too much suction to the breather though?
-
So have you guys made your own blanking plate or is there a company that makes them?

I know that I did one on an older Rabbit (81) and that it was just a bearing cup inside the cover that rode on a pushrod but that was older and a cable clutch. Wishfull thinking I guess.
-
My G60 did that, tracked it down to the connector on the ECU had worked loose.
-
My G60 just started doing that too. From what I understood it's just a matter of taking that cover on the end of the trans off rather than a trans out job. I may be wrong here though. (Anyone who has replaced the bearing?)

I missed one by about a foot on my motorcycle going about 75. Didn't even have time to react. SCARY
