the only modded TTs I've seen have been ABT or similar "stick on kits" that try to hard IMO. This looks sweet, making me look at TTs in a different light anyway! sorry if I 've missed it, what engine is in it? I assume with the earlier reg and twin exhaust its a 1.8T 225?

for the cost of it - i'd redo your wheel bearings especially if you've got to get the discs off etc. If you've not done them before, chances are they be knackered anyway. On the 2.0 the rear discs are joined with the hubs so its pointless not doing the bearing at the same time. Me n mechanic mate did that last weekend, redid rear calipers, new brake discs (which include the hub), bearings and pads. Took him an evening after work, I made the brews!

hrmm interesting, as I am paying insurance monthly on finance I will still have to pay up the remaining balance whatever. So buying a nail wouldn't save me any money on that, so may end up buying something with a few more mod cons...

yeah looking forward to searching out a replacement, think something bigger to cater for weekends away etc may be in order - hence the ssat/vento thoughts. However, depending on how much money I save on the bus, I could save quite a bit of cash in 12months... I've found out where the car has been recovered so am going to have a look sometime this week

i hope all that will form part of my claim - whats the point of naming them if you don't get compensated - however with the low prices of rados at the moment its going to be a challenge getting a reasonable adjustment.

going to find the yard the car has been recovered too, need to know if the keys were burnt with it or not as it will make it easier with the insurance company (so im told). defo no more Corrado's for me for a while, don't want to risk a repeat attack by any lowlives who may find it "funny" to fubar the same type of car from the same address. Looking toward a ssat / vento diesel, but may have to balance what VFM I can get from other marques e.g. citroen or peugeot, as I only want to spend about £500 and put the rest toward wedding next year. Going to try getting the bus / car share from work for a while and see how much money I can save by doing so... I only commute 12 miles so I may be able to save a bundle. think I may move house before I own another performance car, get a garage etc. I wouldn't even trust a lock up around Manchester at the moment.

well, not good news... car was torched tuesday night. totally gutted, but relieved to not be waiting weeks in the dark, wondering. its a weird feeling - why i've not slept a wink since getting off the phone, its gone 2am!!! dont think ill replace her with another, confidence of area is v.low - dont want to see another one driving off. imagine i'll have to look for a daily hack and put the extra toward a newer motor. thanks for everyone who's posted / read. messages have been a big help. i'll keep u all posted Re: insurance, but i'll still be on the forum as always. thats what work is for ;)

that looks tasty, surely a stripped out rs4 engined version will be available to compete with the m3 coupe / csl when they come out. big seller will be the big tdi engines, for all the suits no doubt

cheers for all the support guys, no news as yet although RE: insurance, couple of interested points here http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/p ... car-38.htm and http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/p ... r-cont.htm all boils down whether I have been "reckless" by dropping my keys, or whether they will uphold on the basis that my car was locked and immobilised therefore "steps were taken to secure the vehicle". It will be a hard work to win from the insurer, just need to hear from them and start a complaint procedure if necessary. Worst thing is as I was chasing down the road all I can picture is thinking bloody hell that looks and sounds well nice :D when people talk about cars with soul, the sense of loss I'm feeling basically sums up the soul of our cars, give me that over some rice anyday
