    Wood Dash

that german museum c had wood in it.. cant be bothered to find the thread now though  i strongly disagree.. but if you want to do it, and you can pull it off, then good luck to you!
  2. 0.4% difference is actually very close. im running 17"s and the difference is 3.4% [speedo 60mph actual 62.1] good of him to info you up though!
  3. :watch nerd mode: And chopard make watches carrying the 1000 miglia name! http://www.chopard.com/worldwide/fl/homefl.htm
  4. which one do you have? Raymond Weil do some lovely watches, and the brand is hugely under recognised. Again, the guys in the service dept in Haslemere are true fanatics. they'll tell you the model numbers of pretty much anything they've ever made. good choice! 8)
  5. yup, both of em are original 70's models and both pretty rare. when i was working in watches one of the refurb guys at TAG done the one on the left for free, as he'd never seen one in the flesh and was impressed i had a watch that rare. the one on the right is chrome cased not steel. Again, a collectors item.. im a lucky boy!
  6. yup, thats exactly right.. more on the history [well from a watch angle] here and this site is great for all things TAG Heuer http://www.onthedash.com/ my watches:
  7. Its named after the Carrera Pan-American race, in Mexico. I have two watches by Tag Heuer named after the same thing!
  8. I've had a problem over the last week with my car idling badly. its sitting between 1500-2000rpm when cold, and when the cars running [say dropping down from 5000rpm] the revs drop very slowly. A mate thought it may be down to the ISV and cleaned it through, but it hadn't helped. With the plug on the left hand side of the ISV unplugged, the idle is fine. I took it to a 'VW specialist' today, who charged me £30 to tell me he thinks its the microswitch on the throttle body. Ive checked with VW today, and a new switch costs £82+ vat. im reluctant to buy a new one, as im still not sure that this is the cause of the problem. Does anyone know if theyre available cheaper elsewhere? I've thought about getting a 2nd hand one [i understand they're a common fitment] but i dont like using 2nd hand parts as you can never tell how much life they have left! If anyone could shed some light it would be great! Thanks in advance Baz.
  9. i would imagine your local bobby's not gonna be clued up on the exact criteria a plate should have, and tbh, if they're gonna pull you, it'll just be because you have a 'dodgy' plate. i remember reading that the font is okay, but it wouldnt be worth me arguing if i got pulled, as the plate is velcroed and has the 'D'
  10. theres plenty of info on this if you use the search. usual problem is a small metal piece breaking on the passangers side. easy to fix, but a fixing kit costs about £80ish. ...also, this is classed as exterior...
  11. im pretty sure that speaker feed in is only used if you have no RCA output on your headunit. i would imagine the sound quality will be far worse using rear speaker cable.
  12. i've had mine since e38 last sept, and had police in front and behind me at varoius times with no trouble. As i remember, with current law, the things that are illegal are: having 'D' instead of 'GB' on the euro band. having them stuck to the bumper not screwed in. having the replica stickers. the actual font is legal under EU law, and im pretty sure its ok that they're metal?
  13. stock does seem good, and im sure you're aware prices are at the very top of the market. good luck with the venture!
  14. yup, take it to the man of G.
  15. fairt play bud, youre not scared to give stuff a crack! looks good.
  16. Im running firestones on my winter wheels [pictured]. they're cheap and kept me out of trouble in a fairly poor winter. I have pzero neros on my borbets.. but being that they're 17" they work out a lot cheaper. i paid £280ish for a set of four. The price youve been given im guessing is about right for 16"s Have a look on mytyres.co.uk, i just found these, which they deliver and you get fitted. however, i have no hesitation in recommending pzeros... just dont expect them to last long! Continental Summer tyres SportContact 2 195/40 ZR16 80W XL with rim protection With mytyres.co.uk only £ 69.60
  17. a few pics of mine.. they are 15" with 195/50s.. hope that helps!
  18. yup, no probs at all with 195's on 7". i have them on my winter wheels and theres very little stretch
  19. yup, accept toyota and hold out for VW if thats what you'd prefer. looking good either way though bud!
  20. Well slightly off topic, theres a VW track day at the coombe next weekend apparently.. Im at a wedding.
  21. I'm very confused, you have the bumper but havent seen it from the side? Personally, im not a fan of the DDI bumper, however, it would be a talking point at show etc, no one else has one fitted in the UK as far as i know?
  22. trimsports worth a look, or some richbrook type halfords ones..
